Thank you to Kevin at American Hardwood Floors! I hired them to demo the old laminate flooring in our kitchen and dining room, add new hardwood, and match it to the original hardwood in the adjacent living room. WOW! Kevin and the team did an amazing job on the new floor and matched the over 50-year-old floor perfectly! Not only that, but Kevin was always on time, on budget, and super nice and knowledgeable. I HIGHLY recommend using American Hardwood Floors. They will make sure your floors look gorgeous for a very, very long time.

Kevin either refused or was unable to communicate with me when I had a problem after the job was complete. Maybe written word is not his forte but he also didn t answer his phone. After numerous texts about the horrendous smell in my house I never once got an answer. He used oil based polyurethane which emits high levels of VOC s (also carcinogenic). I have since read that water based is preferred due to this very issue. I spent months with all my windows open and fans running early morning till very late at night. Even to simple yes or no questions, the only answer I ever received was I can come over at 6:30 AM. Funny that he could come over mid day to quote the job. This complete lack of help/answers/potential mitigation after the job was completely unprofessional and exactly what we all fear when we hire a contractor. Incidentally, when I finally agreed to meet with him, despite his refusal to answer how the problem may be solved, he didn t show. The job was in early July. To this day, November 6th, my house still stinks. I gave up. You can roll the dice based on his experience but if you have a problem, good luck. I fervently do not recommend Kevin (American Hardwood Floors). Sorry Kevin, your lack of communication was unacceptable.

We changed the footprint of our kitchen which meant filling in a large section of hardwood flooring. Kevin matched the old flooring perfectly! The job was completed as scheduled and we are very happy! American Hardwood Floors is a wonderful family owned business I would highly recommend to others.

Wow. After talking with a few different hardwood companies we landed on working with Kevin. He was very knowledgeable and professional. His pricing was really competitive as well. Our floors turned out so incredible, absolutely transformed our new home. The entire experience of working with Kevin from initial quote, scheduling the job and the job itself were all totally top notch. Above and beyond quality and service. One of the best service professional's I've ever hired. Money well spent.

This review is long overdue. If you do not have the time to read it all here is the cliff notes version: Kevin Spalding and his company American Hardwood Floors are amazing, and you will not find a more competent and thorough professional for your hardwood flooring needs! Through every step of the process Kevin stood head and shoulders above his competition. He invited my wife and me to come out and see a few current job sites so we could see the process from beginning to end. His attention to detail was meticulous and his commitment to doing everything possible on each job to make sure it was done right was among the chief reasons we contracted him for our project. Kevin was attentive listening to our desires and coming up with a plan to best suit our specific interests in color, sheen, and showing off the depth of wood grain in an interesting way we had not seen done in poly before. We left for a family vacation and turned over the keys to the house hoping we had made the right choice. Upon our return, we were blown away by the results! His craftsmanship far exceeded our highest expectations of what could have been possible on our floors. In addition to refinishing the existing wood, replacing damaged sections and sealing it with 3 layers of poly (2 base gloss and 1 top of 50/50 semi/satin) as we had discussed he went above and beyond to add custom molding and transition pieces in several areas as well as adding an additional coating so that the finish would last longer all because *it was the right thing to do for the project.* This is the type of attitude and integrity that we should all strive for in our professions! To say we were blown away is an understatement. We have been back in the house and enjoying the floors for about 2 months now and we still cannot get over what an amazing job he did. Everyone who comes into our home is blown away by the floors which had previously been an eyesore, and are now easily the best focal point of our home. We wholeheartedly recommend American Hardwood Floors to anyone looking an experienced flooring professional for their next project!

Kevin was punctual. He was nice and personable. He showed up at the time he said he would. He finished on time, as he said he would. He offered recommendations to us. He was neat and cleaned up after he completed the work. Will be hiring him again to put new flooring in our kitchen area. Very pleased. Highly recommend. We have hard wood flooring throughout our home. It's an older home built in 1945. We wanted to maintain that hard wood throughout the home and he has worked on homes older than ours. So we appreciate the expertise he brought with him. We also live in an older neighborhood and appreciated that he was willing to come and work in our area.

Our realtor connected us with Kevin. Before we closed on our home, he met us at the house for an estimate. We were able to book him to sand, stain and seal the 1950s original hardwood. He did an amazing job. He showed up on time (or early), communicated where he was in the process, did stain samples on the floor, and fixed some the trim (not originally quoted). We also had a plumber and pest contractors out to the house and we’re told he was really easy to work with. After we paid we noticed one spot where the seal dried up a little funny. Kevin was very responsive and fixed it the next day. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to bring life back to their floors. Thanks again!

Kevin and his crew made my 60 year old wood floors look fantastic despite many installations of carpet and even linoleum. I had questions that Kevin answered and advised me on floor protection and cleaning products. He was flexible when I wanted to add new baseboards and still finished the job on time. This was a wonderful experience which I wish I had done many years ago. Very happy with their work and the beauty of the wood floors.

Kevin is first class, He is personable, very professional and a real artisan. Repaired the area of the hardwood floor that was damaged be a water leak and matched the color perfectly. If you need hardwood floors installed or repaired he is the best there can be!

Kevin Sradling of American Hardwood Floors is very professional, has many years of experience and does an excellent job. He brought 78 year old walnut floors back to their original beauty. As part of this job, some flooring needed to be repaired and a room need hardwood flooring installed. We are very happy with his work and plan on having him do an installation of walnut flooring in a bedroom.

Kevin was the most cost effective quote we got for the hardwood floors in our Craftsman house in Ventura. He was informative, letting us know the floors were 50 years old and would only take a light sanding, which he did. He filled in the gaps and was very professional. Came on time, finished on time.
