Overall, the work was terrible, and I would not use this company again. I having to re-do most of the work that they did. The reason I chose this company is because they were one of the original contractors for the house and were listed in the documentation the previous owner left me. Because of this, I did not do a lot of vetting on the company, and this is where I made a big mistake. For one thing, it turns out that the builder no longer uses this company for any work. You can Google Jude Pischke and find out more. In any case, here's the story... I called Affordable and asked them to come out and bid on the work. We set up a time, and two people showed up at the appointed time (Jude and a helper). We went over the work that I needed done, and Jude said that they could do it and gave me a bid for the siding work but needed to get back to me on the screen work. I went on vacation shortly after our meeting, but once I got back in town, Jude got back to me with a price on everything ($300 for siding + $540 for screens). He asked for the screen money up front ($540) and said he would float the rest. He never gave me an official bid and that was probably the first warning sign. Asking for all the screen money up front was another, I guess. One thing I didn't like is that he would do the work when I wasn't home even though I left him messages asking when he would be there, so I could be there as well. He did the siding work relatively quick, but it took a couple of weeks to get the screens done. He was not good at returning phone calls. He would generally call after he had already done the work. After the screens were put in, I reviewed them, and they looked terrible. They did not fit well at all. They had a different connector at the bottom to hold them in as well. Jude had a number of excuses for this, but he tried to make them fit better. A few of the screens were missing the middle bar. He had supplies on the truck to fix all but one, and he was supposed to come back later for the one. He never did. I held back some money to make sure he came back, but it didn't matter. A couple of days ago, I noticed that 3 of the 4 corner posts he replaced had started sliding down. Apparently, he didn't secure them properly. I have already had someone else re-do the screens properly, and now I am in the process of finding someone to fix the corner posts. The only thing he did that seems to be ok is the fascia work. I recommend staying away from this company.
Description of Work: My home was damaged by a hail storm on March 2nd, 2012, and I needed to get a number of things repaired. I hired another company to do most of the work, but there were a few smaller items that they did not want to do, so I hired Affordable Siding (Jude Pischke) to do a couple of jobs. The two jobs were 1) replacing 9 damaged screens and 2) replacing 4 corner siding posts and a section of fascia.
