Kevin the mechanic was great and very knowledgeable and even though I had to replace some parts at my expense it was a good experience and would definitely call them again. The reason for the B is someone at the office dropped the ball and I had to contact them twice, once by email and by phone.

Mechanical Doctor from the Angie's List deal wanted my phone number to set up the service, which I provided but called them instead to schedule the call. They stated that Monday or Tuesday morning would be OK, but reserved Monday for emergency call over the weekend, it turned out that Monday morning was the coldest day on record, so I expected a possible delay until Tuesday, but Monday morning the serviceman Kevin called before 8AM and said he would arrive at 8:30, which he did. He then performed the check, cleaning and service on the furnace equipment. During the check it was discovered that he fan control board was bad and would need to be replaced. Kevin later checked on the availability and cost of the board and returned a call. I got back with the company, accepted the cost and the board was installed by the next afternoon. All in all they were prompt, professional and I would use again.

I contacted Mechanical Doctor and my call was answered on the 1st or 2nd ring. I explained I had recently purchased a home w/ an old system and would like to have it checked out. They were very flexible on scheduling and were able to come out on a Friday morning, which is what I wanted. Wayne came out and took a minute to let my 2 dogs give him a sniff test and their wag of approval, which to me is always a sign that the tech knows something about how to please the customer. I have 2 units, Wayne checked them both and made a minor adjustment to the upstairs unit. He went under the house to check everything there. He cleaned my furnace and checked and lit my gas logs for winter and he installed 2 new filters. He was knowledgeable and friendly, he thought that I had a little bit of life left in my systems (probably 1-2 years), which is what I had been told by the home inspector. I would definitely recommend Mechanical Doctor and will use them when I'm ready replace my aging systems. Everything has worked very well and our house has been very comfortable with all the ups and downs in the temps this fall. I personally appreciate good customer service and when I find it, I stick with it and I like to let other AL members know about it. If customer service is important to you, then I'd go with these guys.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and I was very pleased with it; they did a good job. He came out very quickly after I called. He did the work in a short amount of time. Their pricing was fine.

Kevin was prompt and very professional. I would recommend him for anyone that needs new a heating or a/c unit. It was very cost effective and he even through in a service agreement for the year. He was very informative about the entire process as well. He is very knowledgeable and knows the heating and a/c units inside and out.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. The guy was very thorough. He took me up into the attic and walked me through everything that he was checking and left me with some notes in case I wanted to call my home insurance company so I was very impressed. I bought 2 deals for my 2 units. I did not have any problems at all. In fact, they even wore those booties going in and out of my house which I really appreciated because not a lot of companies would do that and I’m sometimes cleaning up after a repairman when they come into my house.

I deal with a rental so I am not there but I spoke with them over the phone and everything worked fine. The suggested to the rentery that they take care and maintain. So yeah good experience. I paid more than what was offered in the big deal because I had to buy some parts.

Called and arrived on time. Serviced both systems and cleaned. Answered many questions and gave really good advice. Will use again.

Mechanical Doctor Htg & A/C arrived on time. I immediately provided the $49 for a 21-Point Furnace OR A/C Inspection, Cleaning, & Tune-Up Big Deal. I explained that although the house was only 2 years old, I wanted to use this Big Deal to check on the A/C since summer was coming. They could not get a reading on the A/C and suspected something was wrong in the attic where the furnace was located. They discovered the furnace connection to the coil had been installed incorrectly by the builder, provided written explanation, showed diagram of how the furnace and coil should be connected, and discussed correct installation. i was able to contact the builder and provide this information. As a result, the builder sent the original installer to fix the problem without any cost to me. This incorrect installation of the furnace and coil should have been caught by the inspectors.

They were really thorough and found a problem that had been going on since the house was built. Whoever had filled our furnace last had overfilled the Freon.

Mechanical Doctor Htg & A/C were very nice. When the gentleman came out he explained everything to me and showed me what had to be done. Very cooperative and very pleasant. Very good company. I like the company. The price was good too. I haven't had any problems. I would absolutely use them again. I found them on Angie's List.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company. I called them at noon and Kevin was here by 2:30 pm to service my unit. He went above and beyond what I would expect from a service call. He explained everything to me in detail and was more than fair in price to replace my compressor. Wayne, who is the owner also gave me a discount as my husband will be deploying next month which meant alot to me. Kevin also explained the importance of changing your filter on a regular basis to maintain your unit. I feel they truly cared about me as a person and not just a customer. These guys are great and I will be using them again in the future. You will not be disappointed, and the service contract they offer to check both the heating and cooling units in your home twice a year is fantastic for $199.00 . This also allows you to discounted rates on parts and services. You will not find a better deal. :) Very Happy!

They were fine. They were in and out all summer. They always showed up when they said they would. They came out about three or four times, and were always on time. There was a defective part from the manufacturer that they had to replace. They made it right without further expense. There wasn't any problem with it. They had to try several things before they discovered why the system was losing cooling. They found it in the compressor which was new from the factory. They were reasonably priced.

We've been using them for a couple of years. They are honest and pretty quick. They are local. They do really good work for us.

This company has been reliable. They replaced the duct several years ago and did a good job.

A/C stopped working at 5PM the day before new tenants were moving in. Wayne came the next morning (Sunday) at 10AM and had everything up and running within an hour. He was very knowledgeable and considerate. While the price seemed a bit high, the quick response, diagnosis and repair more than satisfied my needs. I highly recommend Wayne.

The Tech said "it might be a dirty coil" and said he could clean it. The price was $375 plus materials. Outrageous. At best, that is a 45 min. job which equates to a charge out rate of $300 per hour or more. I will never use them again. I paid his trip charge of $69 and sent him on his way.

This was the second time I've used Mechanical Doctor services to replace heat pump/AC components for our residence. Both experiences have been superb. I feel as though the technicians have provided straight-forward and honest assessments of the status of the existing units, and have quoted reasonable/fair prices for the replacement units. This particular was to replace the compressor for the upstairs unit. Price for the unit was $2350 with $50 charge for the diagnostics on the existing unit. Included installation of a digital thermostat for the unit as well. Technicians arrived on time for the installation and completed the work promptly and thoroughly.

HVAC unit quit working on a cold Saturday afternoon 2/18/2007. Mechanical Doctor was the only company that sent a tech within a couple of hours of calling them. Tech (Jimmy) came over and diagnosed the problem. Told me that the motor of the air handler had knocked out due to the age and misuse of the unit. He had to take the motor out and replace it with a new one. Work was completed by the following Tuesday afternoon.

This was a very good experience overall. The parts to fix the AC were expensive but that's not really the fault of the company. They were very professional and got here in a reasonable amount of time given that it was a holiday weekend. I would use them again without hesitation.

I APPRECIATED THE TECH (ELLER) TAKING THE TIME TO EXPLAIN WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE TO FIX THE AC, DESCRIBE THE CAUSES AND SUGGEST SOLUTIONS BEYOND MERELY REPLACING THE PART. I BELIEVE THE TIME TAKEN AND THOROUGHNESS HAS THE ADDED BENEFIT TO THE COMPANY OF FINDING MORE THINGS THEY CAN FIX, BUT IT SHOWS THAT THE COMPANY WANTS TO BUILD A LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP AS WELL. THEY SEEMED LIKE GOOD PEOPLE, AND ELLER KNEW HIS WORK WELL. OF PARTICULAR MERIT IS HOW DETAILED THE INVOICE WAS -- EVERYTHING HE DID AND COULD DO IS RIGHT THERE FOR REFERENCE.
