I then ordered gas logs and new remote system. I called around to get information and installation fee estimates. One other gas log servicer (on Angieslist) gave me a better price and had years of experience servicing Gas log Fireplaces. He came to house, removed all the logs dusted and wiped off some soot. Cleaned all the connections, of remote etc. and replaced one wire part that fixed the remote. Reset grate and logs and the embers etc. and the gas logs are working perfectly and look beautiful! I now have to ship logs and remote back to Amazon for a fairly steep price. All in all it ended up costing me about 150.00 more than I really needed to spend. Lesson learned ?

Service was professional. However, you get what you pay for. When paying 59-79 for the service, I find the technician is more thorough and always, at a minimum, checks the filters.

It was excellent. They were very responsive in answering my call. We were able to get the appointment the same day. Wayne was very professional and the service guy, Mark, was also very professional. We will be using them again.

This is the second time I have used the Mechanical Doctor. The first time was in June to have my ac checked and serviced. We were so pleased with this company we called to have our heater checked and serviced. They were prompt in setting up an appointment and arriving on time. We were very happy to see we had the same serviceman. Kevin checked our heater and serviced it. He was polite and knowledgeable. Kevin explained what was done and answered our questions. The Mechanical Doctor is the only company I would use and I definitely would recommend them.

I bought this deal on Angie's List after being surprised by water running through my ceiling. It was the day before an out of state surgery for me and I was frantic!!! I included a message for Mechanical Doctor to call me as soon as they could and they did not waste any time. They came out the same day. The problem was diagnosed and corrected. Wonderful Kevin had discovered that the emergency drain pipe from my air conditioner/ furnace had not been glued by my builder and had come apart. Kevin not only connected and properly glued the piped together he completed his inspection and work on my furnace in a very polite and efficient manner. I will definitely be getting a contract for services from Mechanical Doctor. Thank you so very much for everything.

There wasn't anything wrong with the furnace. He had told me that when I call him back around this time of year to turn the furnaces on, I could get like a burning smell. I have forgotten that and sure enough, our fire alarms and everything went off but he was here to assure us that everything was okay. They kept to their word. There was no charge. In fact, there's going to be a spring one too, and that is all included in the cost. They are always on time. He explained everything to us in layman's term when he did the official check. He said he could just clear the line out for us, but he will guarantee us because it's 12 years old that it's not going to last and then eventually we will need another one. I got the feeling that they were not out to overcharge us. We could have gotten a second opinion as to whether we really needed to replace the 2 furnaces too because that was a lot of money. Both of us are exceedingly pleased with Mechanical Doctor, their professionalism, they kept to their word, they are kind, and they made sure that they did not put any dirt on the floor because they always had their shoe coverings. Everything is superior. I would recommend them to someone else because I really and truly don't expect to have to replace 2 furnaces and 2 air conditioners anytime soon, but if I did, we would definitely call them.

Appointment was fine...the technician was prompt, friendly, always wore shoe covers in my home. He did a fine job and answered my questions very well. As mentioned, I paid $69 for one AC inspection/tuneup and $89 for tuneup for another unit plus a dryer vent clean out. HOWEVER, I was told that since my dryer vent was not at ground level (I live in a slab home so it vents a bit higher up the outside wall) that I would have to pay an ADDITIONAL $89 for the dryer vent cleaning -- because the tech had to get a ladder out of his van to reach it. I was in a bind as I was having a new dryer delivered later that day and really wanted the vent cleaned, so I agreed --- otherwise I would have refused. The service was fine, but the pricing and extra fees are outrageous. Buyer be ware, if you want to get a dryer vent cleaned and he can't reach it from the ground, you're going to get charged a CRAZY amount extra. ($89 = total price for A/C tuneup and vent cleaning.... and $89= price to get ladder out of truck....just doesnt add up.) And top it all off.... I go online today to write this review and see that the same deal for AC Tuneup is now being offered for $49. The pricing with this company is all over the place. In short, fine service...but terrible pricing and "extra fees".

My experienced turned out well. They did a good job. They told me what was going on with my unit and took care of any issues. They did not try to sell me unnecessary services. Scheduling the appointment worked out well.

My experience was pretty good. He did not explain what he was doing in the appointment nor followed up with me once he was done. He recommended some other work to be done which was severely overpriced.

My experience turned out very good. They were punctual. They kept me informed of what needed to be done. My AC had broke and they tried a few different quick-fix options and ultimately ended up repairing the unit, entirely. Their prices were very reasonable.

Technician (Wayne) called about 30-45 minutes before arrival to tell me he was on his way. He arrived in that time window which was also within the appointment window that the scheduler had promised. Wayne donned shoe covers when he entered the house. We discussed the scope of the service that I had bought and I gave Wayne a copy of the home inspection report and asked him to address any of these issues while he was doing his tuneup. Wayne asked if I wanted the gas furnace inspected and tuned while he was there. I told him to go ahead. I also asked him to let me know any additional costs. The inspection of the AC revealed a capacitor that had readings outside of the normal range. Wayne relayed the cost to me and told me that he did not have one on his truck but would order it. He would return to install when the part arrived. He said that it wasn't even necessary for me to be at home. I am very impressed with this contractor. Everyone I dealt with was very professional and lived to up to the A rating on Angie's List.

They were excellent. They were an A+ provider to work with. With the burnt out wire they fixed it without additional charge and without this the unit wouldn’t have been running. I appreciated this.

I wish every contractor could provide service this well. Kevin picked up the phone after hours on first try. He came out the next day at a time that was convenient for me. Kevin and Jay wore shoe covers inside my home without me asking (we dont wear shoes inside our home so this was a nice touch). They evaluated my furnace issues (leaking duct work/furnace). Installed a pea trap (sp?), cleaned my condensate line so it actaully can do its job now, and patched up my furnace so it has much less leaks. Both Kevin and Jay were very professional and personable. Not only will I call this company back for future service, but I will be asking for this exact crew. I am very picky when it comes to work done and the professionalism if the crew. They receive an A +.

Setting up the appointment was easy. The mechanic (Kevin) called in advance, and showed up on time. He said a capacitor is slightly below the range, and need to be replaced. I was told the price is $110.00. As I had access to computer, I searched for the part in front of him and found it for $13 on Amazon. I was ready to pay even $30.00 since he had the part in stock. He said another capacitor need to be replaced in the AC compressor and quoted $175.00 for that one. The same item is around $30.00 on Amazon.

there was a slight mix up on the appointment setup, we purchased 2 angie's list deals for inspection of our 2 a/c units but the tech sent out came to address an 'a/c not functioning' call. Although some of the work required was outside the scope of the deal, they very willingly adhered to the 'deal' and went above and beyond to address my concerns. I must say, this was the most knowledgeable and thorough tech that I have worked with and I highly recommend using this service provider.
