great- arrived same day I called, spent plenty of time explaining options, making recommendations & stayed until it was clear the fix was appropriate

Initally started with buying Angie's List coupon for tuneup on 3 AC units that haven't really been mainted particularly well. Two were over 9 years old and one was about 5. After cleaning and inspecting the systems, the technician suggested replacement of 4 capacitors and adding freon to all 3 units. I told them to put together a quote. Ultimately because of the amount of work and cost he had the owner gave me a call and we agreed to do the work the next opportunity when I was home. The technician who came to do the work stepped me through everything and showed me the readings on the capacitors that needed replaced (along with the readings on the new ones to verify the meter). It turned out only 3 were to the point of needing repair. Ultimately they gave me what I believe is a very good price to do all the work (replace 3 capacitors and added a total of 7 lbs of freon between the 3 units plus stop-leak in one of them). Unfortunately about a week later one of the 9+ years old units was not longer working (not the one with stop-leak put in). They came by the next day and determined the source of the leak (outside compressor coil) and gave me the option of finding a new compressor coil (it wasn't repairable because of where the leak was) or quoted a new unit. Ultimately decided to go with a Ruud system at their recommendation. It was hot that week so they worked me in for install only having to deal with no AC on one floor for a day. Install went well, and so far everything has been working fine. While any AC repair or replacement is painful because of the cost, I am very pleased with all the work that Mechanical doctor did and I feel I got great service at a good price. All the employees were very professional and presented me with options and suggestions and didn't try to push something on me that was not needed. I would definitely call them again when my next unit goes (which will probably be soon).

The service was great! The repairman wore booties to cover his shoes when inside my home which I greatly appreciated! He demonstrated what was wrong, why it was happening, and what to look out for in the future. I would definitely use Mechanical Motor again in the future.

Timely and efficient. Had checked my records from prior homeowner for warranties and history of the unit prior to arrival. Very neat. Wore shoe covers inside. So sweet to my dog. Will use them in the future.

Our air went out Monday, we contacted mechanical doctor on Monday afternoon. They arrived Tuesday afternoon to fix the air. They were timely, professional, and did a great job. We would definitely recommend using them

Everything went well, AC serviced and working. The technician (Kevin) was very professional and friendly. Kevin seemed very knowledgeable and gave me great information about my unit. I would definitely use this company again!

We bought an AC Unit check up on Angie?s Big Deals. The service technician from the Mechanical Doctor was on time for the appointment, friendly and knowledgeable. In a short time he found that the unit was low on coolant and added it to the proper level. We stayed cool the rest of the summer.

The provider was on-time and very professional. He quickly determined that the venting fan for my gas furnace had died. My first thought was "cool! It's just a fan. That shouldn't cost much". However, they gave me an estimate of $1100, which wasn't a feasible expense to pay on an 18 year old furnace. So, I also asked for an estimate to replace the gas furnace and a/c unit. This estimate came in around $10,000 which nearly took my breath away. Afterwards, I checked more places and got estimates ranging from $750 to $1000 for replacing the venting fan. The estimates to replace the furnace with a 96% high efficiency unit and a 16 SEER a/c ranged from $6000 to $10000 with other companies. I didn't choose Mechanical Doctor to replace the units because I found comparable units at a lower price. There is nothing negative to say about the company -- I just found something cheaper.

Tech was punctual (they called to see if they could come early). Gave good details on work done, very courteous. Work was done professionally.

I purchased a Big Deal for the $49.00 AC inspection and tune-up. It could not have gone better! If there was an A+ rating this company and their service technican, Kevin, would absolutely earn that grade. It started with Kevin being very considerate of my time by calling 30 minutes before my appointment time to confirm he was on his way. He then called me in route to let me know traffic was heavy and he may be a few minutes late. As someone who must take off of work for these kinds of appointments I was very appreciative of this consideration of my time. From the minute he arrived the service was excellent. He checked the system and gave me a few pointers on the best type of filters to use and how to help keep the drains clear. He even offered to change my filters, which is a huge help for me since they are difficult for me to reach without a ladder. He was very thorough with this service and I definitely think he really cared about the job he was performing and on how to help me as a consumer. I was dreading this appointment because even though the system seemed to be working flawlessly I just knew the technician would find something wrong. As a single woman I hate these kind of appointments because I'm always in fear that I will be told things need repair that really don't. This experience was anything but that! I would highly recommend this company. I have also purchased another deal for a furnace inspection in the Fall and plan on requesting Kevin to be my technician for that appointment, as well. I will definitely use this company in the future for all my ac/furnace needs. Highly recommend!!

Mark called prior to coming to let me know he'd arrive in about half an hour. Once he arrived, he worked quickly and efficiently and answered all of our questions. He was obviously very knowledgeable about the a/c units. He checked various functions, including freon levels, and cleaned the condensers, He advised that we would need 3 new capacitors due to insufficient output, and gave us estimate. We agreed to his replacing them, with a cost of approx. $373 for all 3, including labor. All seems fine, although haven't needed to use the a/c yet! We would definitely use Mech. Doc again.

The tech then proceeded to offer me a capacitor he happened to have on hand for $250 USD. I declined the offer and purchased the same capacitor from amazon with free shipping for $15 USD. I received in 2 days, installed myself, and unit now functions. INCREDIBLE MARKUP. i myself would not feel comfortable doing this to a customer that I would want repeat business from. I will likely not use this company again.

He was great, and I would use him again.

The service worked out well. They only thing that did not happen was that they were supposed to follow up back with me in regards to ordering the right type of logs. I did not have the right log in the fire place and I did not here form them with the price. They came out the same day I placed the order. I wanted to get that quote to prepare for winter. What stood out was their timeliness. They reacted quickly and they were courteous. They came in and did what they were supposed to do. They came quickly and got the work done quickly and left quickly.

Rep. called was running behind and showed up late afternoon. Heat pump is 2 yrs. old and just needed a cleaning. Rep came in the house, and also checked fan and drain to make sure ok. Rep. gave us the ok and left. At 10:30 that night A/C stopped running! We called rep and he said, "Oh ok", and sounded like he knew what was wrong. Rep came back the next day and replaced the capacitor which is a common part on fans. Rep. declared that he was not going to charge us labor to install the capacitor. We were charged $93 for this part which we checked on eBay and sells for btwn $8-$15. We called the owner of the company, and discussed the pricing of the capacitor. He said they have to make money on the parts. We plan to do more research other than what we did just going on Angies List coupons and reviews in the future. Also plan to buy the wearable parts and save them in the event of a breakdown in the future.

All went smoothly. I'd use these guys again.

The service technician arrived on time and he called ahead to let me know when he was heading my way. I was completely impressed with everything the service technician did. I got so much more for my money that I ever expected. He not only fixed the connection to the gas log switch, but he took my logs outside to clean them. I have had several service calls from other companies over the past 14 years to service my logs (usually it was just the switch thing not working), but he was the first one who took the extra time to clean the logs. My gas logs have never been so easy to turn on. The switch works beautifully. He even took a picture of my logs before he dismantled them so he would know exactly how to set them up again. I took advantage of a special they were advertising when I found them on Angie's List, but you had to pay for it right then. I actually liked doing it this way. They came so highly recommended, that I was not worried about paying them upfront.

Kevin was punctual, courteous and did a through cleaning job on the A/C unit. I would use them again.

I also signed up for a maintenance agreement package which was an additional $159, and the parts I needed were $245. They did an excellent job! They contacted me right away after I purchased the deal, and told me when they would be available for the service. They came out exactly when they said they would. He was very nice and helpful. He discussed the contract with me since I needed routine service. I am very pleased overall. Kevin was a real gentleman.

All went very well. The serviceman was friendly and very helpful. He changed my filters as it is impossible for me to do it and I appreciate this very much.
