.Everything went great both times. They were very honest, showing me the test results of parts that needed replaced. Didn't mind that I followed them around, just to learn and understand. Would definitely use again.

Technician called before arrival, was on time, got to work immediately, came inside and checked the thermostat and air filter, stated that the fan and thermostat were in good working order. Went outside checked freon levels, compressor, switches and capacitors. Found the problem capacitor within minutes, had the part on their truck, replaced it and was gone within a few minutes. No attempt to upsell or convience me that here was something wrong that wasn't I appreciate the honesty of Mark S., it is nice to NOT be treated as if you are stupid, just because you are a Woman. Part was installed in about 10 minutes, house was cooled down in about 30 minutes. Part was overpriced at $146.99. .

.I have used several HVAC companies, with very bad experiences. After discovering Mechanical Doctor, I will never use anyone else. They are prompt, professional, and honest!

Oddly the unit started working again when he turned it back on. But he helped me track down what the problem might be and ideas about how to fix it. Great service.

I chose Mechanical Doctor, Inc. because of their standing on Angie's List as well as their special offer ($39 diagnostic service which was better than any other I found). I received a quick reply after completing the online service request and even though they had a full roster, one of their techs (Mark S.) lives in my area so they made arrangements for him to come first thing in the morning the following day. Mark called at 7:45 and was here by 8 a.m. He was very courteous and professional. He went right to work and had my issue diagnosed and fixed in less than 15 minutes. Honestly, it took longer to complete the paperwork and payment than it did for him to fix the problem. He was a lifesaver! It was forecast to be 100+ that day and I was not looking forward to having to deal with that without a working A/C. My only drawback to the experience was the $156 charge for less than 15 minutes (that included the already paid for diagnostic time) replacing a $20 part (I looked it up and that was the mid-range for the exact part). I understand mark-up, but that seems a bit extreme. But in the scheme of things, I gladly handed over my CC to be able to enjoy the cool air during the heat wave. I would definitely use Mechanical Doctor, Inc. again should the need arise.

My name is Pamela Cashaw This morning I look at the list of service for a/c repair I choose Mechanical Doctor because of the ad that is present in Angies List I like that it stated service call and diagnostic price would be $39.00 I call and spoke to Wayne once I made the appointment for today he inform me sone of his service advisor would be calling within 30 minute allow time shortly thereafter I receive a call from Mark inform me who he work for Mechanical Doctor and was own his way to our home Meeting Mark at my door he represented himself to be pleasant, professional and courteous. Mark spoke to us about the diagnosis and told us approximately how long he would be at our home to repair it and itemized the cost to repair it . The price we receive from Mechanical Doctor was very reasonable. I would recommended the Mechanical Doctor to anyone and if we are in need of a/c repair we would definitely use Mechanical Doctor again Sincerely Pamela Cashaw

After I purchased the promotion, two days later I called them and asked for a date to set up to get it done. They don't do weekends unless an emergency so I set it up on a Tuesday night. I confirmed it with the girl that I had to have it after 5PM due to the fact that I work and don't get off until then. So the appointment was between 5-7PM. The day of the appointment the guy called me at 2PM on my cell. He said he was on his way and I told him no because I was still at work. I told him the appointment was between 5-7PM and if he could wait until I got home which would be 5:20PM I would appreciate it. He said ok. When I got home he was already there in my drive way and he wasn't in his vehicle so I went inside to change out of my work clothes. I asked my Goddaughter who was staying with me if someone knocked on the door and she said no one came to the door. I then proceeded outside to find him by the unit. I introduced myself and asked him what time did he get there and he said 5PM. He then proceeded to tell me that he cleaned the unit since he was early. I told him that I didn't authorize him to do that and he said that would be ok that it needed it. He then started to explain to me what was wrong with the unit. He said that it was a pound low and if I wanted him to add it. I asked for the price and he said &150 and I told him no because that is not in my budget. The he proceed to tell me that I need a new piece of equipment and that would be $160 and I told him no I only wanted him to check the unit but thank you for the recommendation. He then wanted to see the thermostat inside the house. He walked in front of me and proceeded to enter my house before me and I had to shout at him to STOP. I told him my large dog was inside and he would bite him to please let me enter before he does. After inside the house he was talking so much tech information I finally had to stop him and told him that he was speaking Chinese to me and if he could please talk to me in terms I could understand. He didn't and continue to talk which I have no idea what he was saying. So politely I told him thank you and walked him out. He then proceeded to spit his chewing tobacco on my sidewalk. No happy about that! I wanted him gone at this point and told him thank you. He then stopped me and asked for my payment of $79, I told him that the price is $39 and I already paid Angie's List. He said that they don't let him know that information only where to go. I asked him if they can text you where to go, why can't they tell you who has paid? He had no response. He was a nice man, but needs to learn time management and how NOT to spit his chew on someone's property! Gross! I will not use them again. Not a good experience for my first time here on Angie's List!! !

I had used Mechanical Doctor the previous week as I had a separate issue. I was charged $39 for a service call last week. On friday, I noticed water on the floor near my HVAC. Since I had a good previous experience, I thought I was calling the right crew to help me out. - They said that the PCV pipe was clogged up. The tech stated that its a flat rate of $224 ! I was shocked but having left work, I had no choice as my A/C was not working. I tried to negotiate on the price and initially the tech said if it was an easy fix he would reduce the charge. Unfortunately he made a big deal about replacing a 3 foot plastic pipe ! It took them all of 10 minutes once the problem was known. They made it sound like it was some big job. Which it was not the case at all. - I called the main office and Wayne stated its a flat rate regardless if its a 20 minute job or 2 hour job. All they did was replace a 3 foot long plastic pipe ! The pipe is attached to the HVAC for condensation purposes. - After calling Wayne and expressing my displeasure over the $224 charge. Wayne called me back claiming that since there were two guys that was the reason why they finished so quickly. Again all they did was install a new drainage pipe off my internal HVAC system. Only one guy could work at a time in the space. The second guy went to the truck to grab the plastic pipe which took all of five minutes. Mechanical doctor took advantage of me. I might also take this up with the better business bureau.

A previous HVAC comapny told me my system needed to be replaced. When Kevin came out from this company, he advised there was no reason to replace my system. He checked it thoroughly and found they put in the wrong sized filters as well. He replaced them with the right sized filters and really took care of me. I am very pleased with this company and I would highly recommend them.

Our air conditioning system went out on Memorial Day, It was well over 90 degrees and we were worried about havig our kids in the house overnight with it so hot. Mike, the technician, agreed to come out on a hoiday after 6 p.m. to help us out. He got the system running and we were thrilled. The cost seemed a little high, but we weren't upset given that it was a holiday and we were desperate. The next day, we were sweltering again. Mike returned with no complaint and no extra charge. It took him one more trip to finally figure out the exact problem, but each time he was plesant, helpfull, and apologetic. After the final time, he called us to check in and make sure we were still cooling. This is the kind of service that will make me return and recomend Mechanical Doctor to everyone I know.

It went very well. Originally they were a man short and would not be able to come until tomorrow. Later that same day they called me back as their tech had finished another job earlier then expected. He examined my system and saw that it had been tripped in the fuse box. I did not realize it had been tripped as it was on and running just not cooling my unit. Then we went to the roof to examine the actual system. Once we returned back down it was working fine. Another provider could have easily taken advantage of this situation. Mark S. really helpped me out today.

Did an excellent job, was very fast and the AC works wonderfully.

The service was thorough and complete. It saved us a great deal of money as the buyers of our home said that our system was not operating properly after their home inspection was complete. Mechanical Doctor did a thorough check and found that the inspector just hadn't removed the air filter to check the cooling levels and that the system was performing normally. No repairs needed. Will use them again at our new home.

I called Mechanical Doctor at 5 PM on Saturday night before Father's day. I never expected that not only would I be greeted by a courteous and professional person on the phone, but he also arranged to be out here on Sunday. He arrived and got to work exactly on time, unfortunately he did not have enough materials to finish the job. True to his commitment though he was here first thing on Monday and finished it all. Mark was a pleasure to work with and I look forward to creating a long term relationship with this company.

This company is reasonably priced and does thorough work. I have never had them install a new system, only the periodic maintenance.

The tech was professional and prompt in determining the problem and resolving it.

I purchased an annual contract with Mechanical Doctor because of their honest and professionalism. I appreciated the phone call with his estimated time of arrival and the politeness of his demeanor. He didn't attempt to push services or products on us that we didn't need. I feel confident that the work and inspection we received will keep our HVAC unit operational for a very long time. They've been very helpful, even coming to check out a system on a house I was considering buying, and then replacing the system on the house I bought. They continue to help with moving gas lines out of a wall I had removed.

I had no cool air - it was 86 in my house - cooler outside! Checked Angieslist for local options and chose Mechanical Doctor. I talked to Wayne in the office and he advised me of what I might be dealing with from what the my unit was doing and its age. Kevin the technician came shortly after I called for an appointment and he was very knowledgeable and efficient. He checked the unit outside and the furnace in the attic and discovered the sensor on the furnace was the problem. He had the system up and running 15 minutes after he got here!! I have stored Mechanical Doctor in my contact for any future needs and referrals!!

Very professional, quoted a well know porduct, start time was immediate which was exactly what was needed. However we decided to go with another vendor who presented a better product around the same cost.
