Precision Garage Door Service

The service went well. They came right out after I purchased the Big Deal and there were no additional charges to the $39 Big Deal cost. I would rate them very well.

Technician Brian was on time for the appt. He gave our garage door a thorough checkup and tightened all bolts and lubricated all moving parts. We purchased our garage door from Precision Door 18 months ago and I wanted to make sure everything was correct and in place. Brian said every 6 to 9 months the door should be checked and at least yearly. Brian was at our home about 45 minutes.

As advertised. Arrived on time and fixed large garage door so that it opens and closes without getting hung up. Keypad works great. Would utilize their services again in future if needed.

Less than 2 weeks after the service call to do a garage door "tune-up" as offered by Angie's List, the cable on my garage door snapped. I ordered the "tune-up", which cost $39.00, because my garage door was sticking. The service guy said my garage door was sticking because the vinyl flaps around the perimeter of the door opening were dirty and that he would clean them as part of the service, but, it "may not last". He said he could replace the flaps which would cost about $76.00 but he did not have enough material on the truck; so, I said just go ahead and clean them. After he finished, he tried very hard to up sell me on adding another spring to my two-car garage door, stating that one spring was not enough for this size door (18 feet wide) and it could snap (my house was purchased new and is 10 years old - I've never had a problem with the garage door before). He went on to say that if the cable snapped, I would be unable to lift the door and I would be stuck. This conversation went on for some time and he ended up giving me a quote to add another spring for about $700. I told him I would think about that, but, I was not going to do that until the springtime if it was even necessary. About a week later, the door was sticking again. Today (3 weeks later), the cable snapped. I find it very suspicious that something he tried so hard to sell me, which I never had a problem with before, suddenly broke after his "service" call. I had a bad feeling while he was in my garage doing the "tune-up" and wondered what he was doing - I should have listened to my gut instinct. Needless to say, I will most definitely not be calling this company to do the repair. Of course, I cannot prove that he tampered with the cable, but, it is way to coincidental that it snapped. Additionally, I went back and looked at the Angie's list reviews ... it seems many people were sold services or were pressured to buy services that were unnecessary. I do not recommend this company.

Technician arrived early after calling ahead. He quickly inspected and tuned up the door, finding no problems. We have this yearly inspection done to prevent bigger problems. Technician was friendly and knowledgable.

They were excellent when it came to their customer service. They weren't able to perform the service that I needed, but they came out in a timely manner.

Precision Door Service is a company that's a joy to work with. Valerie in customer service was very attentive and offered several options. Rick, who came to the house the same day, was obviously experienced and made accurate measurements in very little time. He also took time to help fix (temporarily) the current garage door. I appreciated that. The door had to be ordered, but it came in quickly and Valerie was able to set up a super-convenient appointment for installation. On installation day, Nathan and Jeremy arrived on time (after calling to assume me they were on their way :-) ) and set to work immediately, no dawdling, no wasted efforts. The installation was completed sooner than anticipated, and both men made sure I knew how to program and operate the controller. They also did an immaculate clean up and said "thank you" with a smile when they left. Which is a very cool thing to do.

Sorry, I don't remember all of the details. I know they found some things wrong and replaced the faulty parts. The service technician seemed very knowledgeable and was very professional. I did end up spending more money than originally anticipated, however, the garage door is quieter and safer now.

It worked out fine. The tech was very nice and knew what he was doing. I would call them again if needed.

This service is well worth the fee charged. The technician arrived on time. He demonstrated thorough knowledge of the operation of garage door. He checked all components of the door and adjusted all the springs to make sure the door closed properly. He lubricated all the springs. He also helped me to program the external remote door opener attached to the exterior of my garage. He also explained how to raise and lower the door manually if the electricity is off. Overall I think his visit lasted about 45 minutes. When he was finished my garage door worked much better than it ever has. It is much much quieter when going up and down than it has. This was definitely a good investment of $39.00. I will certainly contact Precision Garage Door whenever I have problems with my garage door or I want to make upgrades to my door.

The technician was on time and very professional. It did not take them very long to get the old door down and the new one up. It looks and works great. It was a great experience all around. I would use Precision door again. I will also recommend them to all my friends.

Showed up on time (called on route) - were very friendly and detailed on what issues I was having with my garage door. Fixed the problem and also fixed door seal which was torn. Went great, I would use them again.

They were great. They ended up selling me a bunch of stuff I didn’t want, but definitely needed it. The door sounded like a freight train when it went up, but now it is very quiet.

When the garage door broke I called Precision Door Service and was able to set up an appointment for the next day. The technician arrived as promised and diagnosed the problem within 15 minutes. The technician indicated that the door had the improper springs and tension and the rollers were wearing out prematurely. He recommended the overhaul package at a price of $569. In addition he indicated that the door did not have the proper bracket connecting the door to the garage door opener and that would be an additional $69. He described what he would do for this package and we agreed to the package since it came with a lifetime warranty. Otherwise repairs would be covered for 90 days. In about 1 hour the technician had installed new parts and repaired the door so that it functioned properly. We were pleased with the work and that it was carried out in a professional manner. There is one aspect of the repair that can be improved and that relates to the cost estimate and paying for the work. During the process you are not given anything written down that indicates what work will be done and what the cost will be. So when we went to pay for the service we expected a price of about $640 and we were surprised to find out that it was $718.Upon questioning, the technician indicated that when he initially looked at the door he replaced some cables which accounted for the higher price. When we paid the technician, we found out that all of the paperwork was electronic on a tablet computer and not available for us to review. The technician quickly explained a couple of screens that we had to sign electronically and the company would email us an invoice. When I received the invoice electronically the next day, it did not indicate that there was a lifetime warranty on the parts and in fact the small print indicated that without a statement of lifetime warranty everything was warrantied for 90 days. I emailed the company back and they did revise the invoice to indicate a limited lifetime warranty. I think the company can do a much better job of reviewing cost estimates, receipt for payment, and providing some written material to the customer so they have a thorough understanding of what they are getting for a particular price. My suggestion is to not agree to any repairs until the technician can provide you with a written estimate.

Everything went well. The technicians were pleasant and knowledgeable. The finished quickly and cleaned up after themselves. Absolutely a good experience. We will use them again when we replace our current system.

We just purchased this home, and one garage door is not functioning and the other works, but we're having trouble with the remote. The technician arrived sooner than expected, inspected the doors, checked the remote batteries, and provided an estimate to overhaul the doors since parts cannot be ordered for what we have. He was very thorough and reviewed the checklist with me before he left.

The service was good. They sent one guy for the job for about 30 minutes. There were no additional fees associated with the deal. My main issue with the service was the price.

He was supposed to perform a tune up, however, the door still sounds the same. He said he replaced the rollers, but he was only here a short time and the garage door still sounds the same, loud. He said my door was by a different manufacturer and he could not perform very much to maintain it. I did not get a receipt. I signed that the work was done, but I was not satisfied at all. The technician was only here for 20 minutes and charged $585.00

The garage door mechanic impressed me with his knowledge - he definitely knows his business. He researched the originality of my garage door. I learned that my garage door is more than 15 years old, and the company that made my garage door is no longer in business. He provided me brochures of new replacement doors and estimated costs. The mechanic put his company sticker on the wall near my control switch.

. He replaced 12 yr old metal wheels on the garage door with new ones not metal. It was pricey and it didnt really make too much of a difference in the noise level. He lubricated the tracks and offer to also move and replace the over head that is attached to the wall. I declined because to be honest I had already paid $39. For the tune up Plus another $254. For the wheel replacement and labor. Overall I am pleased with the service I just wished a simple tune up didnt turn into a laundry list of things to fix and pricey items and labor. I actually asked him wouldnt it be cneaper to just purchase a new?

It was fine. I liked everything about them. There wasn't anything I didn't like. There was nothing wrong with my system. I was just getting it tuned up and checking it out and they were very good. Everything went fine.
