Description of Work: The gentleman who came to our home was so rude that we chose to lose out on our $50 investment through Angie's list and chalk it up as a loss.

Description of Work: Installed hardwood flooring in second floor family room. The Ace crew did a terrific job -- we had some special climate concerns given our ocean front location and they were very helpful in advising us about color and product selection. The crew was punctual and polite. They had to move all the furniture out and put it back and they left the room in perfect shape. We were very pleased.

Description of Work: replaced flooring in 3 bathrooms. They were the least expensive of the bids we received. The job required the toilets to be removed. Other companies required us to get a plumber to have this part done. They were able to professionally take care of all aspects. The floors are beautiful. We are very happy.

Description of Work: Resurfacing of oak floor. It looks nice. but eurethane was dropped on the floor outside the room they resurfaced. In fairness to Ace I didn't contact them about it because it wasn't noticed right away.

Description of Work: The firm was hired to refinish the wood flooring in 3 rooms and one hallway. Carpeting needed to be removed in one room and the hallway. This was my first home where I had to have the wood floors refinished so I wasn't familiar with the process. After the first day the first coat is applied and you can't walk on it. So there is no way to inspect their work. The second day the second and final coat went on and again you can't walk on it for something like 24 hours. I didn't notice it at first but there are a lot of little pieces of things stuck in the finish and that the finish is not even on everything. Some spots look like there is no finish at all. I did point that out to one of the workers but was told it just looks that way. After looking at it for two years I can tell you that the finish was not apply evenly or not at all in some areas. The pieces of stuff stuck on the floor just demonstrates that the areas was not cleaned completely before applying the finish.

Description of Work: They resurfaced my hardwood floors. It went very well. They were very professional, explained everything they were going to do and kept me informed about everything every day. They were on time as well.

Description of Work: Resanded my worn, scratched, dirty pine kitchen floor, and refinished with 2 coats urethane. It looks worlds better than it did. They were professional, nice, punctual and very fast.

Description of Work: AWFUL, one of most mortifying experiences I’ve ever had! Service was to install floor, had similar flooring put in bedroom 2 years ago which cost me TOTAL $400 for material/installation. gave me estimate to do entire downstairs flooring - 2 large rooms $1750, didn’t give me estimate for room upstairs, came and measured and ordered material, it was not available for about 6 weeks. Figured room less than half size of downstairs would be cheaper than price given for downstairs. So they came, and today I was given cost of $1850! Said material was $1050, so labor $800?! So in paying over $100/hour for labor cost! Told him I was never given a price and if I had been told this ridiculous figure I would never had called them and that it would take me until next year to pay this off! I had gotten estimate from another company of $700! For everything - material and labor - so how does he come up w his price of $1850, even with your Angie's discount?! And got estimate to do my downstairs and got price $900, but his price was $1750 w ($250) discount so really his charge was $2000! When someone else’s was $900.

Description of Work: Ace Wood Flooring refinished our oak dining room floor. Troy came to our house and gave an estimate for refinishing the hard wood floor and explained problem stained areas on the floor before performing the work. The floor was refinished the day after the quote. Two consecutive coats of finish were applied to the floor.

Description of Work: Refinished Floor. in three rooms with two coats of urathane. They also came back to do a couple of "holidays" and under a radiator that was too low for their machines.

Description of Work: Installed engineered hardwood flooring in large living room. Room is very large and in basement with cement (no wooden subflooring). Therefore, floating engineered flooring with moisture barrier had to be installed.
