The company left a lasting impression at our house, unfortunately, it's on the driveway. All our wood floors were thirty years old and had lots of surface damage and scars. We got several estimates and chose Ace because they do indeed answer the phone, and the price was great. The work was done in two phases; first the three bedrooms, then two weeks later, the living room and hall. The first day went very well. Three men worked the three bedrooms with great efficiency. I stayed in the basement and while the sanding was a little noisy there was very little odor that reached the basement. They kept the bedroom doors closed and the window fans on, so the fumes were minimal in the house. The difference in the floors after the first day was amazing! The difference after the second day and second coat of clear finish was even more amazing. Our old beat-up floors looked stunning! There was a very thin layer of dust on everything in the house, but I doubt it was even one percent of the huge bag of dust they carried out at the end of day one. At the end of day two I was prepared to write a glowing review. However, when I walked down the driveway to get the mail, I saw a large wet spot where the Ace van had been parked. Whatever it was, there was no attempt to clean it, nor did they tell me about it. When my husband came home, he tried to clean it off, but without the proper cleaning agent, it just spread. The following day I called Troy and he said that while packing up their equipment, they spilled a quart of the finish in the driveway. He said he would have someone look at it when they came back in two weeks. He also offered that it would eventually fade. The crew that came back two weeks later to work in the living room spent the best part of thirty minutes scrubbing the stain on the driveway but there was no difference when they were done. The stain is there to stay. Despite several rainstorms, a hail storm and the blazing sun, it hasn't faded, its gotten darker. The second phase, in the living room and hall went much quicker than the first phase. While the floors do look ten times better, some of the old scarring came through in the hallway. Oddly, not the oldest scars, but some lighter scars left from duct tape on the floor. I think it just wasn't sanded enough in that area. Overall, we love the new floors, but every time I go out to get the mail, I am reminded that they were here, made a mess, didn't tell me, didn't clean it, and really couldn't care less about it. Long after we forget how bad the floors used to look, we'll have the stain in the driveway to remind us Ace was here. A little concern from Troy would have gone a long way in this review. Here's my response to Troy. You told me it was liquid finish when I asked you if it was corrosive. You said "no, it's the same stuff we put on your floor". The stain is still very easy to find - It's exactly where the van was parked, and it covers at least four square feet of the driveway. You should come see it! You skipped right over the "old scarring came through in the hallway" Now lets go back to my last sentence... "A little concern from Troy would have gone a long way in this review." I reviewed your company with honesty and integrity. Your response was to try to make me look indecisive and foolish.

Regrettably it is difficult to please all the customers 100%. So we shall take this review in pieces. Although the pricing "was great" Ace receive a B grade. Not Sure what could have been done to achieve an A? The 2nd phase of the job the homeowner feels the floor guy could have done better. Although the floor Quality increased "10 times." Not sure how to read that. With regard to the stain in the driveway. I(Troy) did not say my guys spilled a can of finish. I did say we would address the spill when we returned. If the stain was the finish as speculated by the customer the finish is not weather resistant and would easily wear off. Upon returning Ace did not know what the stain was and made every effort to remove stain. Without sounding uncaring there are a number of other stains on the driveway.

In June 2012, after reviewing Angie's List, my wife and I called Ace Wood Flooring. A man came to our home to measure the room and gave us a price range for materials and installation of a hardwood floor. We agreed, and later that day we visited the Ace store in Smithfield to pick out the wood flooring. An Ace representative set up an installation date of July 13. We told him that the date was good, and we would schedule five other contractors based on his installation date. A few days before July 13, the owner, Troy, called to postpone the installation to July 20. I rescheduled the five other contractors. Troy called again a few days before July 20 to postpone installation to July 25. I again rescheduled the other contractors. A few days before July 25, Troy called and left a message asking me to call him. The next day I returned his call. He answered the phone and asked for my email address because he was busy with customers. He said he would call when he was free. Troy did not call, but he sent a copy of an email he had received from his supplier. The next day I called him. Troy answered and asked if I had read the email. I said, "Yes." He said that he would have to postpone the installation date a third time to sometime after August 3. He blamed his supplier and referenced the email. When I asked him why he had not called me, he said he knew I would be upset, and he didn't want to deal with me until I had read the email. I told him that whatever conversation he had with his supplier was not my concern. Because he was the "experienced professional contractor" who kept setting up installation dates and postponing them, I held him responsible. He replied, "If you're going to hold me responsible for something I have no control over, then I'm not doing your job!" We asked if his manager could call us the next day. Troy agreed. No one called. Thus, we believed our dealings with Ace were finished. However, after almost three weeks of no contact, we received a call from Troy August 6 asking if we still wanted the floor. I said, "No." As owner and representative of Ace Flooring, Troy was both unprofessional and immature in dealing with us. He has delayed us for a minimum of six weeks. He should have made certain the flooring was available before making an installation date. He made three dates and broke each one. Because people wrote a few good comments about Ace on Angie's List, we thought we had made a good choice. We were wrong.

Unfortunately Ace can not please all their customers all the time. Regrettably, the customer ordered a custom product that the manufacture did not have in stock. The manufacture gave Ace a Delivery date for the product. Ace then set an installation date. The manufacture then changed the delivery date. Ace contacted the customer and rescheduled based on the new date. A third time the manufacture pushed out delivery another week. Ace(Troy) new the customer would be displeased so Ace forwarded the email to the customer from the manufacture in an attempt to let the customer know this was out of Ace's control.. Upon Ace speaking with the customer the customer stated they don't care what the manufacture said. Ace told me they would do the job on this date therefore I hold Ace responsible. Ace got the feeling the customer was looking for some sort of compensatory payment from Ace. At that time Ace told the customer they no longer wanted to work from them. Unfortunately there are some things we can't control. Troy

The job went on without a hitch. The floors had seen an enormous amount of wear and tear over the years. We were amazed at the finished product. We expected an improvement but never imagined they could look so beautiful!
Description of Work: We had Ace Wood Flooring sand and finish some very old wood floors. Troy came out within a day or two of my initial call and gave us a quote. He scheduled the job to suite our needs. The job was completed on time and the floors came out great! His employees were professional and polite. I highly recommend this company and would gladly do business with them in the future.

I had requested an estimate in mid-April for hardwood floor installation for my dining room, living room, hallway and stairs. The response was prompt and Jason did the measurements and provided me with the details of what could be done. I wanted the full service since I didn't want to remove the old carpeting and such. Troy responded quickly with the estimate - which was the actual cost.Jason and his efficient team came on Monday, and the job was nicely completed by Wednesday. I love the results and have highly recommended ACE to anyone who would like a great job done!!!

We had originally been set up to start on Thursday, March 22, but they had to change it to Friday and we were informed in advance. They got the carpet removal and all of the sanding and staining done on Friday working from about 10:00 until 7:30 PM. They made every effort to keep dust from the rest of the house, but some dust did get in, but it was acceptable. The critical part obviously is the sanding and they did a great job to work on some very difficult areas. They were back Saturday to vacuum and put on the first coat of polyurethane and back on Monday to sand, vacuum and put on the second coat of polyurethane. The floors have never looked this good and we were very pleased with the price. On their website they recommend doing the floors before painting and I now understand why. Paint your baseboards after the floor is done. It is simply not possible to stain the floors without getting some stain on the baseboards, so we will have to redo them.
Description of Work: The job was to refinish about 700 sq. ft. of floor that had not been refinished since the house was built in 1972. Part of the job was removing the living room carpet. We are getting ready to sell our and this is one of the last jobs.

Troy, the owner, was extremely prompt in responding to my inquiry, and came to my house within a day of my phone call to provide me with a firm quote; he was very pleasant to deal with, and explained the service thoroughly. I liked that the estimate included all work, in comparison to estimates that I received from other companies. Troy scheduled the work for the week after I received the estimate, and he accommodated a two-day delay, at our request, without question, which we appreciated. On the scheduled day, three installers arrived to begin the work - one supervising two younger men, and also working. All three were courteous, pleasant, efficient and professional, and were careful to minimize their impact on areas of the house in which they were not working. I was very pleasantly surprised at how little dust was generated during the 3-day process. The carpet removal, installation, sanding and finish application was done quickly and professionally, and the finished floor looks fabulous. Two thumbs up. I plan to use Ace again to sand/refinish the remaining floors on our first floor, and to refinish our porch.

I called and complained. I received no call back. A crew arrived the next morning and I refused their entry without resolution of my complaint. The crew did not even seem to acknowledge my dissatisfaction reported to the company. I have received no offers to clean my home. Called other floor companies to complete work. We discovered further damage to the floor which we now think was caused by Ace workers during sanding prep of floor. Would strongly recommend future buyers of service from this company to investigate owner's prior background by searching name in RI. have found other pending complaints filed by homeowners against this company outside of Angie's List. Secondly request full details on materials used on floors and confirm chemicals are environmentally safe and appropriate for floor refinishing. This was not clarified at time job was negotiated. My opinion is that the work and quality of materials to be used were not properly disclosed or explained. Lastly ask for personal references and not Angie List references taken at face value. Confirm the references are from actual people who had work done. My opinion is that this company is not a professional floor refinishing firm.
Description of Work: First the crew arrived later than planned. No supervision of workers was provided by company. I was not present during the first day of work. When I returned late that evening. I found significant dust throughout my first floor which even traveled to my second floor. I had fine mist of dust on furniture and other items outside the one room being refinished. Even my kitchen had dust and it was a sectioned off area. I am very disappointed with the lack of consideration for the condition of my home and how much cleaning was now needed after working in one just one room. I was told plastic would be used to contain dust from spreading.

Unfortunately Ace does make mistakes. Ace should not have taken job in the first place. The customer wanted their floors refinished iniitially. Ace indicated there was not enough wood to refinish again. Ace suggested the only alternative would be a buff and coat. Ace told the customer the ONLY way this can work is if there was no contamination of floor cleaners on the floor. The customer assured Ace they never used anything on floor but water. Upon arrival 15 minutes late. The customer left, the crew went to work. Instantly upon putting the polishing machine to work a wax like substance gummed up the machine. At that time Ace called the customer and explained. The customer said "that must have been the previous owners". This should have been talked about before Ace started. At this point Ace was left to do the best they could. Ace stripped the floor and finished the job. The customer called that evening at 10:15pm left a message. expressing her dissatisfaction about some micro dust. Ace showed up the second day to address what could be done the customer was irate Ace left without charging the customer at all. This is why Ace should not have taken the job. Ace does not recommend buffing and coating wood floors. The customer ended up with a job completed for no charge. Which more than compensates the customer for micro dust left behind.

Troy was very responsive in answering the phone, coming to the house quickly to look at the job, and even in providing next day service (I got lucky because a lot of customers had lost power that week and he had cancellations). The young men he had working for him were also very friendly and professional. The floors looked pretty afterwards and I concur with others that the dust really wasn't that bad. The price was also fair and competitive with other quotes I received. I do have criticisms however. The first thing that I didn't like was that I was asked to pay before I could inspect the finished work. The floors were completely wet with urethane that had been put down only minutes before, and I couldn't walk on them to see whether there were any problems with the finished project (I could scarcely look at them either because of the smell). Troy got very testy about that and didn't understand where I was coming from. He said the floor was guaranteed if there was anything wrong. True to his word, after it dried, there was a place where the wood had chipped off leaving no urethane and some spots where the finish looked thin. I asked for a third coat and they came back that very day and put one on without complaint. The floor actually chipped again, but I didn't ask them to come back because I suspect it was the floor's deteriorated condition in that one area, and not the fault of the refinishers. I let the floor air out with the windows open for about two weeks, and waited another couple of weeks with the windows closed, before I slept in there. After I started sleeping in there, I started having a lot of difficulty breathing at night and it took me awhile before I began to wonder if it was something about the room itself. Honestly, I have asthma and stuff like that happens, it is often hard to pinpoint where the problem is coming from. I wondered if there was mold somewhere in the walls before it occurred to me that maybe the floor was causing the problem. I had to call Troy back anyway because he had never given me a receipt for the job, and because I wanted to know the brand of urethane so that I could fix that chip, and now I also wished to find out if it was an oil finish that could be outgassing. He told me the brand and where he had purchased it. I called the company to ask about the product and the salesperson launched into a critique of the product. He said it was unsafe for residential use and particularly a bad idea when small children were in the home (I do have a three year old)-- that the product was intended for commercial use and that Ace was the only company in Rhode Island that used it in homes and the salesperson thought it was irresponsible. I was shocked as I hadn't said anything yet about my breathing concerns (maybe he was psychic though because I was about to--), the fellow had just let his opinions fly as soon as I asked whether it was an oil finish. I opened the windows back up and set some fans back up to blow out any leftover gasses for another week. About a month later, I moved back into the room and haven't had any sleeping/breathing issues since. I can't say the the issues I had were definitely from the floor, but I am kicking myself that I didn't think to have the conversation about the toxicity of various floor finishes BEFORE I made the choice to go with the moisture-cure urethane. Troy only presented it as a fast dry product, which was perfect for the weather we were having at the time. Though I didn't need to sleep in the room right away, I did need to move a bunch of furniture and boxes in there quickly and that is why the fast dry time appealled to me. So my criticism of Troy is three-fold: 1) Though I understand the need to pay in full when a job is complete, I don't agree that it is complete when there is a wet floor you can't inspect; 2) He didn't give me a receipt on completion and I had to ask for it twice; and 3) I think he should broach the subject of the possible health effects of the floor finishes available when selling a floor, and not just the drying time/hardness factors. The main reason I wouldn't use Troy again isn't because I don't value their work or think I got a fair deal, but because I know that this review is going to make Troy mad. Sorry Troy, but I want to motivate you to improve on these points.

THANK YOU,FOR THE HONOR ROLL REVIEW! I guess their is a differing of opinions on the phrase "PAYMENT UPON COMPLETION." I recently had a roof put on my home. When the contractor finished I paid in full. I did not wait for the first rain storm to see if it leaked. In the future I will better phrase "PAYMENT UPON COMPLETION." Also all finishes used in Rhode Island are regulated by the government. The finish used in your home is considered completely LEGAl and cured after 24hrs and is industry considered the most durable. So it's my guess your asthma issues must have originated elsewhere. THANKS AGAIN!

I can not say enough good things about Ace: - They answered the phone when we called. - They immediately came out to quote. - They researched our special requirements and gave us a firm quote within 24 hours. - They scheduled our work within a week. - They showed up exactly when they said they would. - Jason and his crew were the height of professionalism. They were polite, helpful and very, very good at their jobs. - They were amazingly neat through both the demolition and the installation. - The crew even worked a Saturday to meet the promised deadline. We have had numerous other house projects of late and they can often be very frustrating and infuriating endeavors. This entire process was an absolute joy. Ace did exactly what they said they would do, at exactly the price they quoted and on exactly the schedule they promised. It does not get any better than that. Most importantly, the final results are beautiful. The inlay boxes have furniture grade joints. The floor is perfectly sanded and sealed. The overall floor is well beyond our highest expectations. We are 100% happy with the entire Ace experience.
Description of Work: My wife and I wanted a very intricate pattern on the hardwood floor we were installing in our kitchen. We wanted inlay feature boxes with a mix of 3 different toned hardwoods. Most of the companies that looked at the job would not even quote due to the complexity of the project. The Ace team WANTED the job because of the complexity. Most importantly they listened to exactly what we were trying to accomplish then offered thoughtful suggestions. At no time did they ever try to talk us into something we did not want (like several other companies tried to do). Ace's attitude was always " It is our job to give you exactly what you want" The Ace team handled the entire floor project: they had to tear up an existing tile floor and a damaged sub-floor. They then built the new floor with unfinished red oak, walnut and brazilian cherry. They stained the main area of the floor then sanded and sealed with multiple coats of poly. They carted away all the old floor. While they were there, they also refinshed an existing hardwood staircase to match the new floor..

After doing our research we contacted several floor companies for estimates. Ace was the quickest to reply, picking up the phone when we called rather than asking us to leave a message. A couple of other companies called back within 24-48 hours or so and some a little later. We were in the process of closing on the house and had an opportunity to get into the house before we closed to have an estimate done. In the short window of opportunity we had Ace was the most accommodating and said they could come out to the house at our convenience. Which meant a Wednesday night at 630pm. Troy did a great job explaining what they would need to do to install the floor. He pointed out some areas they would need to do a little extra work to like around the hearth and the transition area between the rooms. He was very informative and gave great recommendations. He provided a quote and followed up with an email outlining the work and cost breakdown. After comparing the work Ace was going to do with materials included against other companies and Lowes we decided to go with Ace. They did a great job. The installation looked fantastic and the finish work done around the fireplace hearth was perfect. They returned a couple of days later to strip the floors. At that time we found out that we had misunderstood what was meant by going with a natural color actually meant using the natural color of the wood with no stain. That was not what our intention was and when my wife mentioned that they were very accommodating and worked with her to look at different stain colors to help her make a choice. After she made a choice they had to go back to their shop to pick up the stain as they had not planned on doing that work on that day. They gave her no grief or hard times. They returned, stained the floors and let us know they were going to return over the next couple of days to put down poly and buff. The floors already looked great and they had not even put the poly down yet! The finishers returned over the next couple of days and put down a couple of coats of poly and buffed out the floor. We could not believe that there were once two different floors between the dining room and living room. When they were done it had looked like they just put down ALL brand new floors throughout both rooms. What a fantastic job. The attention to detail was great. Our only comment (and because everything else was great, this was not as much of a big deal for us) was that we were told we would get a phone call in the evening letting us know what time the finishers would be at the house the next days. At no time did we ever get that call. We had to call Troy up to find out what time the finishers were going to be at the house the next day. He did answer every time and was quick to give us a time but we had to make the call. In the overall picture it was a small inconvenience. The floors look great and my wife and I are EXTREMELY happy we went with Ace. They did a wonderful job.
Description of Work: My wife and I purchased our first home and wanted to replace the living room floor and install hardwoods. The dining room already had a dark finish hardwood. We wanted a lighter color in the living room and would need the installer/finisher to match the colors. We did some research and called around.

The owner was easy to reach by phone. He clearly explained the options available to me with regard to the different types of finishes. He came in person to do the estimate and showed up on time. He seemed more professional and knowledgeable than the other companies who came. I had heard a rumor about his company using very young crews and asked him about it. He told me his sons were the "kids" I had heard about, and that each one was a crew chief, and that the 20 year old who would be heading up my crew had done over one thousand floors already in his career and knew what he was doing. He was able to start with 2 days notice. The crew showed up on time and got right to work. They were 4 young guys who worked hard. In the first day, they sanded the whole house and put down the first coat of finish. The second day (saturday) they put down the second coat. The owner offered me a 2 coat solution that cures quicker and ends up harder than a 3 coat product which none of the other companies did. Overall I found them professional, quick, and of good quality. The only thing I might mention is that they are more expensive than the competition. In my case, the house was empty and getting the job done quickly and with highest quality was the most important. Overall, I was impressed with how much they got done and how quickly. The picture below shows how dark my original floor finish was and how much the look will improve once it is refinished. I don't have a picture of the refinished floor to show.
Description of Work: Refinish all the wood floors in a house built in 1956. The floors had not been refinished since the house was built. Approx 1100 square feet of wood floors, 3 bedrooms, hallways, closets, living/dining room.

As the member said you do get what you pay for. We may not be the cheapest but in the end he states he got more than he bargained for. I would be willing to guess our estimate was within 10-15% of others. Thanks Ace

This is the second time I have gone with ACE. In a previous home they did a hardwood refinishing job for the entire house that we were very happy with. This time we needed a room installed with new hardwoods and a re-finishing of a carpeted staircase. The job went very well, and I am happy with the results. The crew arrived on time and they had everything they needed. They cleaned up everything and returned the day after for a second coat of poly on the stairs. I will call them again when I am ready to do another room.
Description of Work: Pre-finished wood flooring install in a single room. Refinished oak treads on staircase.

We pulled up carpeting that had been in the living room for twenty years and thought it might look good refinished. Called Ace on a Saturday morning and Troy was able to come later that very day to give an estimate. He explained what they were going to do and said the floors would look beautiful when finished. I was lucky as they were able to come Monday morning first thing in the morning. They did everything they said they would and the floors came out great. Also what they say about answering their phone was a refreshing change. When I had a question about something and I called later on an evening, expecting to get an answering machine, Troy answered. It was a nice change, no playing phone tag with these guys. Very professional and they do a great job.
Description of Work: Had floor in living room, stairs. and upper hall refinished.

We just bought an older house on the east side...The floors were covered with Wall to wall...Troy and company removed some seriously nasty carpeting and sanded and refinished (stain and 3 coats poly) both floors in 5 working days....The floors are amazing and we could not be happier...additionally the crew patched multiple areas where there were water stains from plants and radiators. Troy ALWAYS answers his phone... and if he cannot talk then, he always calls you back...The Crew worked every day...I was able to have all this completed before moving in....And...From 900 miles away.. A fantastic experience

Jason and his staff arrived on the first day to find I had moved some of the furniture because my husband was out of town for the week and I thought instead of separating the work out for 2 weeks to just get it done and asked them if they minded helping me move some of the heavy furniture. Without batting an eye these guys were awesome, they had no problem at all of helping me move the rest of the furniture in the master bathrooms, and the attic and proceeded to start. They started every day promptly at 8:30 and worked only taking a lunch break for approximately 45 mts. Given we had the hottest week of the summer so far they really went over and above and wanted to make sure each day it was clean so that when they came the next day they could start. They were true gentlemen from start to finish, in fact I had to leave during the day for doctors visits and did not have a problem at all leaving them in my home. They sanded for 2 days to make sure it was up to their standards and on Thursday put the stain on which was beautiful, on Friday putting the first coat of poly on and was going to come back on Sat or Sun to put the 2nd coat on and I said if they wanted to wait it was ok with us they had worked so hard to enjoy the weekend. They were back on Monday and ready to tackle the 2nd coat and it looked so beautiful I was speechless. They said I could walk on it the next day but we waited until Wednesday evening and hired 2 of the gentlmen to come back and help us move the furniture back. They were again true gentlemen, they not only were extremely careful about not scratching the floor but making sure everything going back had the felt pads on them. These guys were incredible, Troy has awesome workers and I am sure very proud of the job they all do. I would highly recommend them and anyone that hires them will never be disappointed. We intend to have a cookout for the crew to show our appreciation for such an outstanding job!
Description of Work: We were originally going to have the bottom of our home's floor refinished then continue to the upstairs however, we decided to have the entire house done. They sanded, stained, and polyed approximately 4000 sq ft of living space.

Troy and Ace Hardware are honest, straight forward, professionals. I was redoing floors to surprise my wife while she was out of town. Troy visited my house on Monday evening and was able to accommodate my schedule and be complete by Wednesday. He explained the entire job in great detail and gave me options on type of finish. His crews were very concerned about cleaning up and I was amazed at how little dust their was. He went above and beyond to make sure job was completed to my satisfaction. Their was one item I misunderstood about how floor was going to be connected to adjoining room. When we talked prior to starting work he pointed what would needed to be done to a joint in the floor. Through mis-communication we each thought the other was going to do it. When I called and asked about the joint he apologized for confusion and completed work with out charging me more. Troy and his people are a company that truly believes in customer satisfaction.
Description of Work: Sanded and refinished two rooms.

It looked much better than we had hoped. The grain looked great and even though the stain was darker than the original, it looked fresher and brighter than the original. My wife kept going to areas and pointing, saying look how great this looks. The job started on time and finished as promised. We are moving into this house, so we did not stay during the work, but there was no evidence of dust at the end. Having done floor refinishing in other houses we have owned, I can say this was money well spent.
Description of Work: They sanded, stained and put 3 coats of poly on 600 sq ft of wood flooring downstairs in our older (100 year old) house.

Their service was okay and the floor came out okay. There are some spots that we can actually see the wood, like in the corners. The guy came, told us how much it's going to cost and then he said that he has his kids work for him. They were very polite, young kids and they did the best they could do. They ran out of painter's tape which they use when they block off the doors for the saw dust, so they used duct tape. When we removed the tape, it took all the paint around the doors. I told the owner and he said that they don't use duct tape instead they use painters tape. I said they ran of the painters tape and used heavy duty duct tape which took off the paint around the door. We didn't have the paint and I had to go buy the paint. He said I hope the beauty of the floor makes up for it. The floor is alright but could have been better. We only got two quotes which is I guess the minimum. It probably would have been better with the third quote but if you do run into problems the owner is not going to fix it. We actually didn't compare the price. The first time he called back right away but when I called him to tell him that we are going to hire him, he said he will call us back to say when he can do it and didn't call us for three days. He said he forgot because he was at a wedding.

The Work was ok, The workers were ok and the service was ok. In a family business the sons (grown men) did the work and were polite. With regard to the paint the customer said no big deal at the time. Then paid their bill in full. Also what did she mean did not compare price she received 2 estimates on $350.00 job. Also the job was completed within 7 days of requested hiring. Seems to be rather timely in the contractor world. Some customers are harder to please than others. We apologize for an ok job.

Troy was punctual and provided an estimate on the spot. His team did an excellent job, removing all carpet remnants and cleaning up saw dust, etc. They took time to edge the molding and replaced some threshholds that were cracked. The floors look beautiful.
Description of Work: Removed carpet and replaced with pre-finished hardwood in 3 bedrooms, walk-in closets and hallway.

The job went very, very well. I was very impressed with the quality of work that their guys performed, and after refinishing the entire first floor looks amazing. I can't believe how well they seamlessly merged the new flooring into the old flooring.
Description of Work: We had one room in the house that had poor quality carpet, the rest of the house is a nice oak floor. They ripped up the old carpet, and the underlying linoleum tile and subfloor, and installed a new white oak floor at the exact same level as the rest of the first floors floor (every other contractor said they couldn't do this, and the new floor would be 3/4" higher than the existing floor). Then they refinished the entire first floor, and you can't tell where the new floor joins in with the existing floor. It looks better than we ever imagined it would. They charged exactly what they quoted to the dollar. Very impressive work.

We find this happens quite often. Most companies won't remove existing flooring. Choosing to pancaking the new floors with the old. We prefer to make the new floors seemless if possible. Thanks
