Ace Wood Flooring

Description of Work: I live in 1,040 sq ft of space and they came to do an estimate on refinishing the hardwood floors. THey quoted $2,250 but said if I wrote out a check for $2,000 they would give me a discount which they did. They sand and refinished all the rooms except the kitchen and bathroom tiles. The project took about 2 days which is phenomenally good. The first day I met them at the home as planned, they came in. The next day, I was suppose to meet them at 9AM. They came at 8:45 and called me to request access. I told them I would be there in 15 minutes as I was expecting them at 9am. When I got there they had already gotten started. I asked how they got in they said they propped one of the windows open and then let all 5 men in to finish the job. My floors look great but the sanding machine totally destroyed the white baseboard trims that were painted white. Which I painted before doing the floor because that is what they say you should do and part of the reason why I needed to repaint a lot of the baseboards they were smudged with sanding machine or polished. Also some of the floors were not as polished and shiny as other parts and therefore, he agreed to come back. Which I understood seeing as it's a big house and they sanded and refinished all the floors at once. Of course, they were a few places where it wasn't as nice as the others. After we moved in the floors were beautiful and shiny but we noticed a few spots that needed to be redone they weren't as shiny. The owner or manager agreed to come take a look and fix it if necessary. He agreed. Two of the rooms the dining room and one of the bedrooms had lots of boxes and things in it so it couldn't be moved. He agreed to redo the floors in the living room and hallway and agreed to come back and do the dining room and upstairs bedroom. I had to pay someone to remove all the furniture from the living room. It was tough but I decide to change the color of the paint in the living room because I didn't like it so the painters agreed to move the living room furniture to the basement. Ace wood Flooring came and buffed and repolished the living room and about 3/4 of the hallway leading into the dining room. I asked why they hadn't done all of the hallway. It didn't look good. They said because it leads in to the dining room we couldn't. You have to wait until we come back to do the dining room. A few months later I called him up and asked if they would come do the upstairs bedroom which was completely empty except for a elliptical machine and the dining room which was also completely empty except for a huge glass bookcase which was too big to move anywhere. Once they got here they refused to do the upstairs bedroom because there was an elliptical machine which had wheels which I could have easily moved to another room. They said well we can't waste time here you'll have to move the elliptical while we work on your dining room downstairs. I said ok. They went downstairs and said we won't rebuff and polish any of the dining room floors because you have that bookcase in there. I said I don't care if you work around it. I;ll put a plastic around the bottom so it doesn't get ruined. I said that part of the floor doesn't get exposed anyway because of the bookcase. They condescending said no you HAVE TO HAVE the whole room clear. We won't take the liability. One of the workers who was fairly new looked at him like, come on dude why you giving her a hard time. He looked at me with compassion but didn't say anything. He whispered as the other guy left, we will be glad to come back if you move the bookcase. I asked can't you guys do the upstairs bedroom and hallway. The other guy said no we can't keep coming here. You have to move that bookcase or we won't' do it. Finally got someone to move the bookcase called them. Ace Wood Flooring agreed to come out to do the dining room, hallway, and upstairs bedroom that were now completely clear. They said they would squeeze me in between appointments on a Saturday after noon. I was so scared of these guys but I had to go run to the ATM because I had a plumber at my home I figured Ace Wood Flooring would call me before heading over I could be home in 10 minutes or less. No Ace Wood Flooring came knocked on the door, the plumber saw them told them I just ran out about 5 minutes ago and would be back. They never called to say they were coming, they never called to say they had come and missed me. THey just took off even though I had left the door open. THen I called the owner, he let me have it and said he was done dealing with me. And was so rude and condescending to me. My account is 100% the truth. Even though I want to add other adjectives to describe these people and how disrespected I felt by them. I'm keeping my credibility by sticking to the facts. I've been with Angie's List and I've worked with many companies and big deals and contractors. Ace Wood Flooring made me feel so belittled and once they got the $2,000 service they knew I wasn't going to be a repeat customer for a while so I was worthless to them. Don't use them please use another service instead that will treat you with respect and tell them about this review and how you are not going to use them because of it. Please do it for me.

Description of Work: Gentleman who called to schedule the appointment was friendly and engaging. However the company rep who came for the consultation was rude, officious, and condescending! I am 74 years old and felt rattled after his estimate and he neglected to remind me that the deal would have made the job affordable had I wanted it to be completed. He did point out the reason for not recommending the refinishing of the floor, which was appreciated and made sense. The way he presented it, however, was like he was talking to a 2 yr. old. Thank you.

Description of Work: Installed kitchen LVT flooring. They were awesome from start to finish. no hidden costs, no pressure in "up selling". they knew what we were looking for and worked to get us the exact right fit. and they did. a pleasure to do business with!

Description of Work: They removed carpeting in one room and installed hardwood floors in two rooms. The service was very good as they showed up on time and stayed until the job was done. The floors were installed in one day, and they came back on two consecutive days to apply the finish. Great service.

Yesterday, I went to see Troy about the problem and he immediately came to the condo to check it out-excellent resolution of problem-Troy explaned the cause to my satisfaction . He and his wife were extremely responsive-much appreciated their time!

Description of Work: We recently utilized ACE to redo our basement floor. Overall, my husband and I are very pleased with our experience with ACE. We found the pricing to be reasonable and the final product was beautiful. The workmen showed up on time and were very pleasant.

Description of Work: Troy came and spoke with my wife about all aspects of redoing our hardwood floors. He was very responsive and answered all of her questions. On the day of the service the crews came right on time and worked there two days straight to finish the job in a timely manner. They did an excellent job. Troy the owner came back the following day and met with me to make sure we were happy with the job and to answer any more questions. I would recommend this company 100% to anyone that wants to have their hardwood floors refinished....They are a very professional company with excellent quality service at a reasonable price.
