PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Read the reviews on Yelp.com. They are accurate. You will be quoted a low price and then once your belongings are in their possession the price will change and they will attempt to hold your items hostage until you pay. We priceshopped a few movers before choosing. Piccolo's was the only one to give a quote over the phone. We should have known better. We were moving from a three bedroom townhouse to a 4 bedroom home. We told the owner we had a very heavy safe (450lbs) We were told it was not a problem. we also said we had extensive gym equipment in the basement and gave a full description. We were told this was also not a problem as his company had experience moving several Golds Gym and Planent Fitness locations. We were told $585 for the first 4 hours and $140/hr after and that it should 5-6 hours with an absolute max of 7 hours total. Even the day before the move we called to confirm they were coming an we were told we were slotted from 7:30-2:00. They showed up punctually at about 7:30 with 4 guys and a liftgate truck. I signed a blank contract that had nothing filled out as far as price or materials, we were offered no form of insurance, and no inventory of our items was ever done. (We didn't realize these things should have happened until we read about movers after this was over) Things started off fine until they tried to move the safe. They were unable to pull it out of it's location, so my husband had to do it for them. Once they got it on the dolly they were unable to control it and damaged the threshold on the exterior door and broke the stone facing underneath it. The guys moving it were nice but were obviously inexperienced and ill-equipped to handle the task. After about 4 1/2 - 5 hours and the gym equipment is still being torn apart I began to raise concerns with them about the amount of time I was quoted for the move. One of the movers told me this happens frequently, that the owner will give a quote then once complaints are being made about the actual time and price he will demand payment. He said they just had it happen a few days before, the woman was quoted 7 hours and after it was obvious it was going to take much longer she was told to pay or have her belongings unloaded back into her driveway. He said it ended up taking them 12 hours. 3 out of the 4 movers also said they had no experience dissassembling gym equipment. (I actually took a video on my phone of this interaction because I was starting to get worried) One of them gave me Jeff's (the owner) cell phone number so I called and asked what was going on with the great disparity between the quote and the actual time it was taking? He said that he never quoted me that, asked how I got his personal number, told me to never call it again and hung up on me. We arrived at the new house at approximately 1 pm. my husband told me to just have them move the gym equipment into the basement and not have them set anything up because this was already taking far too long. By 2 pm one of the movers left. Soon after this the head mover Bob came in with his clipboard that had the contract on it which was still completely blank other than saying start time 7:30. He told me that I needed to pay and I told him I needed Jeff to call us back and talk to us because we needed to come to an agreement about the situation because we were now going to be way outside of our quoted time frame and we were now down 1 mover. Once we got Jeff on the phone he tried once again to say that he never quoted that price but then after a couple minutes of arguing back and forth about getting multiple quotes (the others were $1300 and $1800 and when I called to tell him he had the job we had a very specific conversation where I told him they blew everybody out of the water) and that we only went with him because of it, he said that he is very busy and he might have said it, but that he did it by accident and he didn't mean it. We also told him 1 of his guys had left and he said we would be credited for that. We also brought up the fact that the other reason we went with him was the experience with gym equipment. We told him his guys had said they didn't have experience with gym equipment and he got angry and said that his company has moved multiple gyms and we said well these guys haven't. He said I have 2 crews running I don't even know who's at your house. We said if you don't know who is here how do you know that these guys are the ones with experience. He immediately said put Bob on the phone. We gave the phone to Bob and after a brief conversation Bob turned to us after a few minutes with a now filled out contract with a few materials, times and dollar amounts and said we needed to pay $1296 or they were leaving immediately. I told him that this was ridiculous, that we needed to have a conversation and try to work something out Bob just kept saying if you don't pay us we are leaving. He then began trying to blackmail us saying if Jeff doesn't get paid we don't get paid we just busted our butts all day and you are going to stiff us. We said that was not the case at all but the current situation was ridiculous and completely unfair. He kept trying to make us feel badly by saying they were going to have worked all day for nothing. We insisted it was not our intention to not pay but the way the situation was being handled was completely unacceptable. He then said that they were leaving and taking the remainder of our belongings that were still on the truck, with them. My husband went and got on the back of the truck so they couldn't leave. they still had a mattress, box spring, 2 tvs, and 2 safes on the truck. Everybody came out to the truck including all movers and family members we had there helping. Bob kept telling us to pay and telling us we were going to be making them work for free all day. then after a few minutes the one mover said this was ridiculous, that he would help get the remaining items off the truck and the other joined in. we were able to get everything off except for the 450 lb safe because bob turned off the liftgate in the cab of the truck and wouldn't let the other guys near it. He then said the police were on their way. He then allowed my husband and the one mover to get the safe off of the truck. When the police arrived we told our side of the story and Bob told theirs. He just kept insisting that we needed to pay the $1296 We said that we would pay $860. The police told him that he was going to accept our payment and that they were going to leave and if the owner had an issue with payment he could take us to court. At first Bob didn't agree to these terms but then the officer insisted that this wasn't a negotiation that he was telling him that he would accept our payment and they would leave. Any further compensation could be dealt with legally. We felt badly for the other 2 movers as they were very nice and worked hard and they were very apologetic about the situation so we tipped each of them $50. For a job that was quoted at 5-6 hours with an absolute maximum of 7. After about 8.75 hours (we were billed for 10 which would have put them working until 30 minutes after the police had left) We were left with 2 beds not fully assembled, 1 not at all. 2 safes that were supposed to go upstairs in our garage and none of the gym equipment assembled. my best is estimation is that it would have taken another 3-4 hours to complete everything fully since they were down to 3 guys. With probably no possibility of getting the 450lb safe upstairs without us helping. We found out the next day the our 75" tv had been damaged, (the lcd panel is destroyed, we took pictures) We called Jeff to report the damage, he laughed and said if you say so told us we owed him $500 said he would see us in court and hung up. We then text a picture of the screen to him that show colored lines running vertically down the screen and pressure points along the top where it had been mishandled, he said he was blocking my number and we owed him $500. The tv is a Samsung UN75J6300 from 2015. on Amazon it is currently $2999.95 we called Bestbuy their best guess is about $100 for diagnostics and another $1500 to fix it. I am very sorry for the long winded review I have never written one before but this is the worst experience I have ever had with any company of any kind. On a day which should have been very exciting it became a nightmare. I simply do not want anybody to have an experience like the one we had. I have no clue how this company has positive reviews anywhere. It wasn't until afterward that I looked them up on Yelp and found all of those reviews are exactly like the experience we had. Attached is a picture of our damaged tv.

Haha. This review is so comical that it doesn't even deserve a response, but I will give one anyway Anyone who knows anything about moving knows it would take longer than 7 hours for 4 guys to move a 4 bedroom house, with a gun safe and a large gym. i never said anything about 7 hours, but told her that it would take approximately 5 hours to load, and approximately 3.5 hours to unload. She says we have no experience moving a gym, yet we(in the last 6 months) moved 3 planet fitness gyms and 2 Golds Gyms. The contract certainly was NOT blank. They signed it and the cop noted that. This "lady" and her husband, who the crew thought was on some sort of drugs, were the most lying customers I have ever dealt with. We were the ones who called the cops. Even though we were fully aware that this would be a civil matter, we felt that the husband was becoming a threat, so we called the cops(also, so we could have a record of this in court). Thanks for reading.

Jeff's team was professional, punctual, and a pleasure to work with. They moved the contents of my entire house from Central to Eastern Pennsylvania. Jeff was was honest about what the service included and what it did not. His price was the lowest of the estimates I received - which normally would be a deterrent to me - but his service was great. Jeff is conscientious about providing a professional service at a lower cost. So there are some things other movers do that you should ask him about - for instance - some movers will automatically box your mattresses. Jeff's service does not include this but If you provide mattress packing materials, his team will gladly pack your mattresses at no extra charge. Such services by other movers are included but also translate to substantially higher fees. I was able to purchase mattress bags, rolls of flooring protector, and other packaging supplies at my local UHaul store very inexpensively. Just be sure to ask questions up front and Jeff will provide honest answers.

The owner has very poor customer service and essentially started arguing with me when I mentioned I was dissatisfied that I was not informed they don’t accept checks and charge 3% if you use a card so I had to run to the ATM and leave my house vacant. He argued and said he told me which he did not and I was informed that there have been multiple complaints on this subject and his lack of customer service. They were also late arriving and would not move a number of my belongings that other movers have moved in the past. Find someone else who will disclose up front and treat customers how they should be treated.

As I told you when we spoke yesterday, I would be happy to play you the recorded message, where I told you that we do not accept checks and that I pass the credit card processing fee on to the customer. You declined my offer to play it for you. They were 20 minutes late, because they got lost right by your development, and the called you to tell you they were lost. You said "no problem". As for not moving certain items, we do not move loose items, that should be in a box or tote. We cant just throw loose stuff in the truck. Thank you for using our services and good luck in your new home.

We LOVED Piccolo's Friendly Movers -- as noted in the name, they were incredibly friendly, punctual on both days, and efficient! We hired them for a two-day pack and move from our townhouse to our new single-family residence. Two days, with day one being packing everything into boxes (which we opted to supply) and getting prepped for day two, which was moving everything including furniture onto the truck and taking it to the new place. Both mornings started at 7:30 am and the movers were there on time each day with a courtesy call fifteen minutes out. We had a four-man team on both days. Each of these movers was wonderfully personable, fun to work with, attentive, and excellent at what they do. Our house was quickly packed and loaded onto the truck and moved over without any hassle. They treated our furniture well, no damage as far as we can tell. Paid by credit card with no issues (I know other reviews mention the added processing fee; we were made aware of that and were told a final number including the fee before the charge was put through). Would most definitely hire again and if you get John, Jason, Micah, Austin, or Matt to move you, you're in luck -- they're great!

Jeff's company did a fantastic job moving my Mom all the way from Florida up here to Lancaster, PA. Her belongings were picked up on time. They arrived on time. AND, all of her things arrived in immaculate condition. I am throughly impressed with the company and the men they chose to do the job. Well done!

This was our first x-country move, so we used ABF to move our household goods and hold it in storage while we searched for our home. Once we were ready to move in, we contacted Jeff to unload the trailer of our household goods. Jeff gave us a quote for four men, with all of the terms clearly outlined. Jeff was very clear in terms of what services he was to provide (and what he was not contracted to do). We agreed,we completed the contract, and paid the base fee, all over the phone and via email.) Note: I believe it is up to the homeowner to take some ownership for the services requested, so Jeff and I had a discussion regarding each of the factors involved (equipment, floor coverings, protecting the finishes , etc.) There was not any confusion of what they would do, and what was my personal responsibility-e,g, clearing the unloading area of snow. We also laid a lot of "ram board" to protect the floors. Ther more issues you discuss in advance the easier it is on the crew, so it's best not to wait until they arrive to raise any concerns. Those should be handled with Jeff before-hand. If you're not sure, then ask the question--Jeff will be very candid with you. We were scheduled for a early Sunday AM. Jeff confirmed the crews arrival time in advance, but Saturday evening it started snowing, and Jeff called to delay 4 hours in order for the highways to be cleared (~30 miles)and for us to get our driveway and walkways cleared. The crew called Sunday morning to confirm their arrival time and where very punctual. After a 10 minute introduction and discussion of any concerns we might have, they went immediately to work. In 4.5 hours they were driving away, every box in the proper area, with boxes on the hardwood floors first covered with a moving blanket (our request) and what furniture we wanted staged/assembled in the appropriate place. They worked non-stop, with John the team leader repeatedly asking "is there anything you would like us to do?"--including tipping the furniture so we could install felt pads on the legs before they were set on the hardwood floors.) Would I hire them again? Definitely. They were prompt, courteous, and focused on the job to get done. They worked together very well and you could tell they were not guys just off the street doing this for the first time. They even folded and stacked the moving blankets, re-positioned furniture at my wife's request, and at our request, reloaded the trailer with the barrier and ramp and made sure everything was picked up. Job (very) well done.

This was a very small office-related move consisting of four file cabinets and approximately 15 file boxes. The majority of the cost was due to the time/distance involved. Arrival at the pick-up location and the delivery location close to the estimated time. The foreman kept us apprised along the way. Very pleased.

It went very well. The men we had assigned to us worked hard and as a team. In addition, the men were very careful about what was being moved and the homes property was being moved from and into. In summary, I would use the company again based on our experience. We had a previous bad experience with another company and this company met our expectations. Thanks Bobby and Hippie!!

The moving crew was totally excellent. Very professional. Wrapped and protected everything, even our old, cheap furniture. Brought 6 guys and 2 trucks, and finished the job earlier than expected. No damage to anything, and the service was great. There were a few surprises on price. Their estimate was higher than every other moving company, but we went with them anyway because we felt their reputation for quality was high. Then the final price came out higher than the high end of the estimate due to extra charges for shrink wrap, which was not discussed prior to the date of the move. There was also an extra charge (not a surprise) to use a credit card, plus a generous tip for each mover, which we did not realize was customary before the day of the move (maybe this was our fault). Lastly, because this move was critical for our family, I followed up with the owner multiple times before the date of the move, to be sure everything was in place and on schedule. Everything was indeed on schedule, but my follow-ups clearly annoyed the owner, and it was clear that he expected me to trust his original commitment to the move. Fair enough, but I like to double check. :)

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Your card was charged an extra 1.5%. That is from the processing company, and not from us. This was discussed on the day you booked the move. We always charge for the shrink wrap we use. We can't reuse it, so we have to charge for it. We don't profit in any way from the shrink wrap, but just charge the client what we pay for it. You had told me how much you wanted t tip them. I'm not sure if your review implies that I just added a tip for them. As for being agitated by your phone calls, that surely wasn't the case. Sometimes my phone just rings and rings and I am trying to get to everyone. I'm sorry it came off that way. I'm glad your move went well though and wish you the best of luck in your new home. We are now neighbors, as I live around the corner.

I was very impressed with the movers - John, Micah and Ben. They were very courteous and nice to be around. I had never worked with a moving company before and was very on edge prior to the move. They removed all the stress I was feeling about letting strangers be responsible for everything I owned. They handled all of our possessions with care. I was very impressed with how they took apart the furniture and wrapped each piece before loading in the truck. The guys worked very hard for 8 hours. I would definitely work with this crew again. The money I spent on the move was well worth it. All of my belongings made it to the new home in one piece. The guys reassembled everything they took apart. They were very careful with our new paint and flooring. I would definitely hire this company again. I would make one suggestion to the owner though. After the move is book, provide a contract with the agreed upon pricing or at the very least, an email to have the pricing in writing. Over the phone, I was quoted $475 for the first four hours, then $95 for each additional hour (he said it was a special price for finding him on Angie's List). I even emailed him the week before the move to confirm the date & time and included the pricing in the email. But, the foreman was told our rate was $485 for the first four hours, then $105 for each additional hour. I also asked him how I could pay and he said cash or credit card, but failed to mention the 4% fee for using credit card. The guys did such a great job that I didn't push the issue with the pricing, but it would have been nice to have a confirmation beforehand of the discussed pricing. Other than this issue, I was completely happy with their services.

Thank you for the review. For Angie's List clients, we give them $15 off the first 4 hours and then $5 off each additional hour. I am sorry for not sending something ahead of time. I believe I booked your job while I was on vacation. As for the 4% fee, that is only for corporate credit cards. Your card was charged [Member Information Removed].5%. I am sorry for the confusion. Everything about this company was great! My moving plans changed 3 weeks before my moving date and Jeff worked with me. On moving day, Bob, the foreman, and 7 other guys were well organized, polite, careful, and respectful. When a large item would not fit up the basement stairs, the crew tried several ways, explained my options, and worked together to trouble-shoot. I will be using this company again!!!

Pretty well, considering inconsiderate neighbors parked in the posted temporary no parking zones forcing the movers to park up the street. In humid 90 degree weather, John, Ben, Micah, and Ryan toted heavy furniture and appliances down the street, down and around the alley, over the fence, and up stairs. All done with smiles and no complaints. Everything was well wrapped and undamaged. John did tell me right away my antique dining table made a cracking noise when they lifted it, but no problem, I am aware it is need of repair and restoration, no harm done by the guys. Would I use Piccolo's Friendly Movers again? You betcha. They ARE friendly!

The owner Jeff Piccolo is an absolute jerk. The only way he's getting a good rating on Angie's List is because his workers are so nice, NOT because of him! I used the company once before, he was a jerk then, but his guys did such a good job I decided to use them again just to load out my trucks for a cross country move. After promising me 4 movers to load out my huge 26 foot moving van, he only sent 2 men the morning of the move. When I called him he claimed otherwise (a total lie, I believe he had over booked himself so he cut my move short), yelled at me over the phone, threatened to send the guys home, and was all in all unbelievably unprofessional and crass. He knew he had me over a barrel because of timing so he was a total bully. I had no other choice but to put up with him since I needed to get to a new job across the country and had to leave the next day. His poor guys were wonderful and did the best they could loading the trucks all day in the heat and humidity -- they were awesome. Then, of course because it took them more than the initial 4 hour charge of $500, my total bill was outrageous at $900!!! Of course Jeff absolutely hounded me, calling me over and over after 1 PM, just to make sure he could charge my credit card. My advice, NEVER USE PICCOLO MOVING!!! Their rating on Angie's List is totally bogus, because the owner Jeff Piccolo is EXTREMELY difficult to deal with, unprofessional and a bully. Go find a REAL moving company!!

Before anything, I would like to state that I am the most easy person to work with! This customer was very difficult, switching her move numerous times. I never said 4 men, nor did I say it would take 4 hours. We do have a 4 hour minimum, which she knew about up front. I never once yelled at her, although she did raise her voice. She also had more than just a 26 foot truck to load. She had a truck AND a trailer, but failed to tell me that. I didn't hound her at all for payment. I called her 2 times during the move to make sure everything was going ok for her. She actually said she was going to pay cash, but changed her mind to credit at the last minute. That was no problem. I am sorry you weren't happy with your experience. The good news is that all your stuff was loaded safely (you said it would take 12 hours and it took 8). Have a safe trip out to Spokane. Good luck.

The guys showed up on time, and got right to work. All of our stuff was handled properly, and wrapped as needed. The move went as promised, and the crew was great. My only issue was that early in the day, when I asked Jeff how much it would cost to have the guys pack a bunch of loose items we couldn't get to, he did not provide me with a firm hourly price for the guys to do so. As an Angie's List contractor myself, I'm always prepared to give my customers the information they need to make decisions, including my hourly rate for my crew. We would have happily paid for the additional packing, but without a firm hourly rate, we had no way of knowing how much additional cost would be involved. So we packed and moved the loose stuff ourselves. Other than that, it was a good experience, and we would use them again.
Description of Work: We needed help with our larger, heavy items and our packed boxes during our recent move.

They sent three young men, who were some of the most professional, courteous people you could ever ask to meet. They took such care of our belongings and not one nick or scrape was put on anything. They really took extra care, of our stuff and it was truly appreciated. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone considering moving. It was the best decision we could have made.
Description of Work: My wife and I, recently moved from Lancaster, PA to Ephrata, PA. And were in need of help moving the large stuff. So, we hired Piccolo's Movers, and were extremely satisfied!
