John was extremely organized, polite, professional and easy to work with. He guided us through the process of planning the layout and selecting the appropriate materials for two full bathrooms. The materials he provided were of excellent quality. John was very accessible, visiting the work site every day to address our questions and concerns. Additionally, his crew was conscientious, punctual, hard working and very systematic. They stuck to the plan, but were also open to our suggestions. The quality of the workmanship was superb as they paid careful attention to all of the details. We could not have asked for a better finished product! We are very satisfied with the results and would definitely use Tinkerman" Construction for future projects. And we would certainly recommend him for kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects.

We had an excellent experience with this remodel. John was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He was very quick to respond to our call and the job was completed in the time frame given. His two workers that were on site each day were very friendly, professional and very hard workers. They took great care to not disturb our house and cleaned up each day so that you could hardly tell you were under construction. We are very pleased with how beautiful the bathroom turned out. The tile job is just beautiful. We would definately recommend this company.

Incredible! After we had a previous poor experience with a different contractor (NOT Tinkermen's) we were anxious and worried. We shouldn't have been. This was like night and day. The price was very fair. John and his crew were professional, fast, and completed all the work within 3 days. It was really astounding. The workmanship quality was high, the company was easy to deal with and very professional. We will use Tinkermen's for future renovation projects, and would highly recommend them.

Working with John at Tinkermen?s Construction was an absolute pleasure. I have a fair amount of experience, hiring contractors for a variety of different work. Based on my search in Angie?s List, I interviewed 8-10 different contractors for a bathroom remodel. It was clear that John, from the start, was someone who was both knowledgeable and PREPARED. At our initial meeting, he offered us copies of the requisite credentials that homeowner?s should expect to see when hiring a contractor. We outlined the work we were expecting, advised him of our budget (and budget concerns). In our case, we wanted to get a sense of the base costs to complete the work, so we could then choose to upgrade in specific areas of importance. In a matter of just a few days, John provided us a detailed proposal as expected, and we made an appointment to see the materials he had to offer. We spent a significant amount of time in John?s office/showroom looking at all of the materials that we would need to complete the renovation work. He participated in the discussion, making us aware of details we had not considered ranging from the direction of swing on a vanity door, to different pros and cons of different building materials. In some cases John guided us towards more cost-effective solutions that would satisfy our needs, and accommodate our budget concerns. Throughout the entire process John?s even-keel, patience and insight was a welcome change to past experiences. There was never a hard sell or pressure and felt that he offered us a competitive price and strong value. John had promised based on the scope of work that it would be a 4-5 day turnaround (start-to-finish). This was about half the time we heard from other contractors. When John explained how he and his team managed the work, it made sense and more importantly minimized our ?downtime?. As promised, the work was completed on time and on budget. His team worked professionally, cleaned up after themselves and minimized disruption in the household. Even more importantly they worked full days, NEVER making us feel like our work was being balanced with other jobs. I would confidently recommend John and his team to anyone who was looking to have bathroom work completed in their home.

John?s expertise and knowledge of all the components that went into our new bathroom helped to make the whole design process run very smoothly. They used tarps up and down the stairs and hallways and had plastic sheeting up around the bathroom to contain any dust. From the first punctual moment that the work started, the professionalism of John Carlson and his workers was evident. Within a few short moments, plastic sheeting was covering all the floor surfaces and hung from walls and ceilings, insuring that all potential messes were contained to the work area. The workers treated my home as if it were their home. Work started quickly and was completed so as to interfere with our daily routine as little as possible. Since we only have the one full bath, the loss of the shower was a concern. Well it really should not have been, as they attacked the shower and tub first, and had it back in use not 48 hours later. Incredible. From start to finish john made the process painless. John led us through the planning/design phase, listening to our ideas and helping us to get to the design which best suited our budget. Once the work started, the level of professionalism clearly carried from John to his workers. Three days after the start our new bathroom was complete and Tinkerman's Construction has a dedicated customer. Do's: Hire these guys Don't: Pass up the opportunity to hire these guys

John has a real gift for helping plan a bathroom renovation. Our project was a complete renovation and John's suggestions from materials to colors were insightful and made for a very lovely bathroom. His projected time needed for the project was excellent, he thought he would need 8 working days but finished in 7. He and his crew set up barriers throughout our home to minimize impact on the rest of our home from the demo and reconstruction. He and his crew were timely, worked diligently with no extended breaks and left each day with minimal mess. We would highly recommend!

John Carlson was very professional, knowledgeable, patient and answered all my questions when he looked at my demo'ed second floor full bathroom that a friend had started and couldn't finish. Mr. Carlson emailed me a detailed estimate and followed up with me after the appointment. I hope to schedule the work soon.

John and his team were responsive and meticulous. John listened to the goals we had for the project and designed and delivered high quality work and finishes that were on budget. He was receptive to suggestions and offered excellent advice. His crew chief was knowledgeable and skilled. John was onsite everyday of the project, either working himself, or to ensure the details and plan for the day, or both. He came back often to check on progress if he wasn't working himself. Our job was scheduled for November but when John got an unexpected opening in his schedule, he called to see if we could accommodate. As a result, we not only got a fantastic remodel, it was finished much earlier than originally anticipated. Without hesitation, we would use John again and recommend his work.

John was a great help with giving different ideas to solve issues related to too much moisture in the bathroom. We eventually settled on an automatic ceiling fan with sensors. He was punctual, professional, and reasonably priced. Very satisfied with his worked and craftsmanship.

He was so wonderful and up front with me. He was so honest and I really appreciated that. It was clear to him that there was no leak and he even tried everything to check for a possible leak. He told me I only needed a few minor improvements and not a complete remodel. He could have come up with charges and tried to sell me on something since this is my rental property and I'm out of state but he was just so honest with me and I'm so grateful for that.

I recently purchased a home with bathrooms that hadn't been updated since it was built in 1985. They were pretty awful. I received bids from three contractors to renovate the master and hallway bath. I gave the business to Tinkermen's, not because they were the lowest, but John proposed a plan that was far superior to the others, making the best use of the space. Somehow both bathrooms feel much larger than they did before. John worked with me to find opportunities to reduce the price without sacrificing the design. Both bathrooms They were on time and neat (as neat as you can be when remodeling a bathroom). The workmanship is impeccable. His entire crew were polite and helpful, and the job was completed quickly. One of my friends commented that the master looks like a bathroom in a Four Seasons Resort! I would recommend Tinkermen's to anyone planning a renovation, and will definitely use them again when it's time to update the kitchen!

John was recommended by neighbors and we looked on Angie's list John is very patient with the initial choice of materials ! They started work several weeks before they originally had us booked in for which was great In addition to John we had Kenny Robin and Joe. They all worked really hard taking few breaks and staying late if needed, even offered to let the dogs out!. They do a great job of protecting the rest of the house from the dust and clean up everyday before leaving. John was ok with changing things even if they had already started to work on them ! Our bathroom is amazing it looks twice the size and is a real piece of art ! Highly recommend John and his team. Great work ethic and very artistic.

I was very apprehensive when we bought our new house and decided to completely remodel the kitchen. I've heard horror stories about people living without kitchens for months during a remodel. I got several quotes on our project. John was the only company owner who came to the house and spent time talking with us about how we work in the kitchen and what our "must haves" were. He helped us design the who thing and made some really great suggestions that we hadn't thought about. He hand delived a very thorough estimate with a few days. Each service and item was specifically spelled out and left no doubt at all about what was included. He told me that they would be able to complete the project in less than ten days. I was very skeptical about his 10 day estimate but after talking with several past customers who assured me they could do it, we moved forward. We actually received a call that they would be able to start one week earlier than anticipated and that they would be there on a Friday to start the project. They showed up exactly on time and by the time they left that day I had nothing left but wall studs in my kitchen. John was on the job every day with the guys and they devoted all their time only to our project. No running around to other jobs, etc. They were all very nice and professional and it was a pleasure having them in our home. We were completely comfortable leaving them alone in the house when we weren't there. They even let our dog out for us. There were a lot of little things they did without being asked that I think sets them apart from other companies. We had a custom cabinet installed for keys and cell phone storage, etc. I can home one day and one of the guys said "it was driving me crazy that you didn't plan to put an electrical outlet in there to charge your phones, so I put it in for you". That never showed up on my bill. 8 days after they started working, I had a fully functional kitchen. It was absolutely amazing! Even more amazing was that my final bill was within $200 of the original estimate (and I made changes during the project). Tinkermen's did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a kitchen or bath remodel.

Prior to formerly signing up, a lot of time was taken to go over multitudinous details and questions were patiently explained and answered. John Carlson gave excellent suggestions for the project. The work was executed in a timely fashion, neat, orderly, courteously and of a very high quality.

We did not employ this company because of their refusal to travel to Phila. Whoever I spoke with from the company was extremely unprofessional and struck me as being very disrespectful in manner.

We met with several contractors before going with John and his team. John came out to our home for the initial consult and the layout he came up with for our kitchen was the first one we had seen that really maximized the usage of our kitchen both for storage and usage. When he came back to us with the drawing that showed us the layout and the way the kitchen would look we were blown away. The simple things he added to show the potential of our kitchen was great. We couldn't wait to start picking out all of the items that we wanted in our kitchen. John took his time going thru all of the benefits/negatives regarding certain items like counter top types. He took 2 people who knew nothing about how to choose between things like granite and quartz and made it easy for us to pick which option made sense for us. When it came to the actual project itself John was onsite working side by side with his team (not sub contractors). The crew kept the construction and dirt/dust that comes with construction contained to the area they worked in, and truly looked out for the well being of our home. John told us our project would take 8 days, and that was the only thing he was wrong about because he got it done in 7 days. When he called me at work on their last day there and said they were done and packing up I thought he meant for the day. To say that I was surprised when I came home to find a completed kitchen would be an understatement. We love our new kitchen, and it really has helped to redefine our living space downstairs. We are still a year or two away from doing our master bath but I know I only need to call John this time. A big thank you to John and his team!

Tinkermen's remodeled my bathroom some years ago, and I knew that I wanted them to do my new kitchen. It was a smart choice. John came out right away to discuss the project with me. He had good ideas for logical changes and the best materials to use. He then sent me a 3-D diagram of his plan. In his office, he has a small showroom with samples of cabinets, flooring, quartz and granite. During the entire planning and construction process, we had frequent email and phone communications. John answered all of my questions promptly. My house is more than 100 years old. No floors are level, and no corners are square. John and his workers did a fabulous job, fitting everything precisely. They are pros for sure! They were careful and left everything neat at the end of each day. John even put up a temporary screen door to keep my cats out of the work area. I am thrilled with my new kitchen, and I highly recommend Tinkermen's.

John's knowledge of his materials and finishes made our design easy and fun. The cost of our project was exactly what he estimated. He estimated 10 days to complete the project and it only took 8. His employees were polite and hard working. The house was thoroughly prepared for the work crew to be walking through it. John neatly laid out floor covers and built barriers to alleviate the dust. Our house was left immaculate every day. The glass for the bath was late, due to a situation which was out of John's control. Despite Hurricane Sandy, he had the glass installed as soon as we had power back. In the meantime he set up a clever system of curtains so we could use the shower. We felt like John cared that we were comfortable until the problem was alleviated. I have already recommended Tinkermen's Construction to people I know. I would definitely use them again. Our new bathroom is beautiful.

Once the project started, John and crew were professional, careful and punctual. All were pleasant and friendly. They were quick to engage us when they needed a decision (renovations of existing homes always have unanticipated issues), make recommendations and discuss options. We appreciated their attention to detail and the care they took to clean up each day. We are very happy with the finished bathroom. We plan to hire them to redo another bathroom.

Great company to work with! They arrived everyday on time. The owner of the company works with the crew. They cleaned up and vacuumed each afternoon before they left. First class work!
