Description of Work: Waterproofing basement and laying drain, installing sump pump. Everything works fine and they did a good job. Wish they had told me how much dust there was going to be.

Description of Work: My basement got water when it rained hard. Bakers Waterproofing put in drains outside my house to carry the water from downspouts away from the house. They also installed a sump pump inside to keep the area dry. There was quite a mess from digging up the concrete in the cellar, but they cleaned it all up and were very professional.

Description of Work: I asked Baker's to give me an estimate for an external french drain, as recommended by the structural engineer who performed a structural inspection of our house prior to purchase. The intake person did not tell me that the "estimate" would take over 3 hours to perform. During that time, the person who came out to my house did made me watch several videos about suggestions he would be making. The whole experience was very sales oriented and "pitchy". In the end, he did not want to give me an estimate on an external french drain but tried to sell me on an internal french drain and all of these other items that I was not interested in. I said that I would consider the other measures, but that I needed to look at the estimate. The representative NEVER sent an estimate after calls to his cell phone and an angry call to Baker's after 3 weeks. He had marked my file as "waiting to discuss with my husband." What was there to discuss if I did not have an estimate? A few weeks later Dave called to tell me that he was sorry for the "miscommunication" and that he'd get the estimate out to me. A few weeks later, he sent me an email saying the estimate was attached but it was not. I let hiim know that I had yet to receive anything, and 2 months later I still have yet to hear anything. Even if they got back to me, I would not use them. ****1/14/12 UPDATE**** The owner of Baker's called me late this morning (a Saturday) to apologize and explain that this is not how his business typically operates. He was very professional, and offered to come give another estimate so that I would at least have a benchmark for other estimates. He explained that I would be receiving my estimate the same day (and he said that this is typically how it works). I appreciate the immediate response and professionalism, and I am willing to give them another try. Given this follow-up phone call, my rating is likely to change. I will update more after my estimate. (Note - They were willing to come out at my earliest convenience). ****3/26/12 UPDATE**** Baker's came out two weeks after contacting me about my poor review. They were very attentive, knowledgeable and prompt. I received an estimate the same day after only an hour or two of my time. Several weeks later, as promised, they followed up by phone. We are still in the process of obtaining estimates from other companies and do not know whether we will ultimately hire Baker's. Our initial experience with them was disconcerting, but the follow up since then has been nothing but professional.

Description of Work: This company was very responsive and professional. We had 5 companies provide estimates for a slightly bowed foundation wall, and this one's estimate was in the middle of the five. Note that the highest price was twice the lowest one. We did not decide in favor of this company due to a number of factors, most of which did not necessarily reflect negatively on Baker's. It was a difficult decision, and we weighed warranties (which varied considerably), price, Angie's List rating, BBB rating, and references.

Description of Work: After signing a contract in 2010 we were told the price would hold till we were ready to do the waterproofing. Subsequently my husband passed away after the first six months of suffering in 2011. When I called Bakers after his passing to come and do the work they would not honor my2010 signed contract price. Because I wanted the service done ASAP I was told I had to pay 2011 prices. OK so I did it. Then the work was done ; while the workers were here they told me they could not comply with my signed agreement that they could not put in a sump pump because they had no where to run the pipe. So they would connect onto my existing waterproofing . It didn't work my basement is still flooded and they refuse to fix it till 2012. They claim they are too busy. Well guess what they have not heard the last from me. I have another company coming in next week at another $3000.00 who when they say Bakers work they litterally laughed and said boy did you get taken.
