After comparing the estimates from Joe Connolly and two other paving contractors, we decided to give the job to Joe. Another company that we had contacted for an estimate would not not even bid for the job due to our location on a major highway. However, Joe found a way to get it done. The first part of the driveway involved digging the area for the addition to the existing driveway. The that area was filled with rock and compressed. That completed the first step for the new driveway. We were allowed to drive on the new area as that actually helped to compress the newly added rock. A three week wait followed, giving the rock time to settle. Joe told us he would be back in three weeks to finish the job. Joe called us a couple of days before the three week waiting period was over and told us he would be ready to complete the job in two days. Joe and his crew were at our home two days later as promised. They were on time and started to work.right away. Even the siding near our garage was covered and protected, along with our sidewalk, so that no asphalt could accidentally touch it. After the driveway was completed, we were advised that we would not be able to use it for five days. The crew placed "Caution Tape" at the end of the driveway so that no vehicles would drive on it. After the first rain we noticed that the driveway didn't puddle as it did before. It drains perfectly! Joe and his crew worked all day to get the job done. The crew was very friendly, professional and hard working. The driveway looks amazing and actually makes the entire property look great! I would highly recommend Joe Connolly Paving to any family member or friend.

From the estimate to the final touches Joe and his crew were professional, clean, efficient and informative. Joe explained to us what the process would be like and why everything was the way it was which was quite comforting. I had multiple questions and choices to make throughout this process and Joe was able to explain in detail what needed to be done. When the work started, Joe Connolly who is the owner/operator, said he will always be here on site to make sure everything was perfect, and he did. In just two days , Joe and his crew took out a large eyesore which was our old driveway and replaced it with a new welcoming and inviting one. We are beyond please with the work that was done. When we started this process, we used Angie's list to research who to go with. All of Joe Connolly's comments and reviews were remarkable, and I just want to say we agree with them all. Joe Connally personally lead the two man crew that performed the work. Joe and his people went the extra mile to resolve some conditions that were not apparent when he made his bid. Specifically, the former drive had no stone base under it and the soil was predominately clay. Joe removed a lot of the clay and provided a full stone base using new material. He also addressed a drainage problem adjacent to the driveway so that rainwater would properly drain off my property. Although not part of the contract Joe's people also hand excavated and helped me install a 6'' by 6" pressure treated wood edging on one side of the drive (I supplied and drilled the wood) The final job looks great. I was so satisfied I even tipped the crew at the end of the day. I had six bids for this work and Joe's was mid-range. ( I'm a retired engineer and have been involved in construction contracts and I am wary of low bid contractors that might not provide full service because of a need to "cut corners" to make a fair profit.)

Joe and his crew arrived precisely at the appointed time and got to work quickly. The job was done very professionally and clean and the results were wonderful. Our driveway now looks brand-new and gets many compliments.

Joe came out for the estimate and explained how he would do the job. He was on time and very professional. When he came out to excavate he was on time and did a very good job and cleaned up before he left. When it was time to do the asphalt he was again on time and did a very nice job and explained how to take care of my driveway. I would recommend Joe Connelly Paving.

Although this was done almost one year ago, I was waiting to see how the resurfaced drive way looks like after the winter before writing a review. Especially after this historically brutal winter in 2013-2014, the drive way is in a very good shape without any cracks. What they did was trimming back the grass around perimeter of the driveway, removing asphalt along concrete near garage and street, leveling all sunken and cracked areas with asphalt and compacting throughly, resurfacing entire driveway close to 100 square yards with two and half inches of hot melt asphalt.

Great, Joe and his crew came on time, they did a great job and the cleanup was very good, Joe even worked around my schedule.

We hired Joe Connolly Paving to re-hire our asphalt driveway. It is about 18 years old and was crumbling in some places. They did a great job and we couldn't be more pleased. Joe was on site most of the day for our job and he is a very nice man; one you are happy to do business with. All the workers were polite and friendly. They were on time and cleaned up after themselves. His price was significantly less than another quote I got about a year ago. We don't hesitate to give Joe an A+ rating!

Joe did a phenomenal job on our driveway. He was prompt and communicated frequently with us from the quote process through picking up his sign. It is hard to find contractors who do what they say and really care about the quality of their work. Joe did and it shows.

Even though we had agreed to removal of decorative bricks and it was much more time consuming that originally thought, the contractor kept to his written quotes.

Mr. Connolly and crew could not have done a better job for us. He showed up for every appointment on time, explained our options clearly, gave an estimate for this job that he stuck to, walked us through the permit process with the township with the required paperwork he provided. The finished result is truly a quality product, delivered on time and on budget. Completely satisfied and would totally recommend.

Very well. Mr. Connelly called and told us everything he was doing, such as contacting the utilities to make sure he would not hit any wires or pipes. He explained what he would and why. He arrived exactly when he said he would. Very professional and very nice to deal with. I would definitely recommend him.

Price was commensurate with other reliable companies. While other companies could not guarantee the stone under old asphalt this company guaranteed if there wasn't sufficient stone they would dig out dirt and install new stone to proper depth. This was the case under my driveway and they dug out dirt and installed stone at no extra cost. They were prompt. When I asked if they could be done by a certain date because of a bbq I was having they did everything possible to The dirt border of the driveway was dug out by them in a straight line before they paved. Very professional.

Joe Connolly is GREAT! He came out when he said he would, got us our quote, and even recommended another contractor to do paver work that we wanted done...saying that the other guy would do a better job than he could and it saved us a couple a hundred dollars too! He is honest, friendly and professional. He's a hands on worker...right along side his crew. The whole crew was very polite and professional, taking time to talk with our grandson who was fascinated by all the activity and equipment at our house. I would recommend Joe Connolly Paving to anyone needing a new driveway!

Great!! They trim grass around driveway for a clean edge..They remove asphalt cracked along the edges so new paving can meet evenly.. they level all sunken and cracked areas in the old driveway, new asphalt was put down and compacted thoroughly. My driveway now looks beautiful.. Connolly Paving was on time and work with me on scheduling..they did an excellent job on the driveway and with the cleanup too.

I?m very pleased with the paving job that Joe Connolly and his crew did on our driveway. There is a lot of detail that goes into paving or resurfacing a driveway, particularly with edging, grading, odd shapes, etc.; and Joe and his guys took the time to do the job right. Joe?s quote was not the lowest I received, but I feel that the quality of his work was worth the additional cost. Joe was pleasure to work with ? he is a straight shooter, he?s professional, he took the time to explain every phase of the job, he was on time, and he delivered what he promised. There is also something to be said for having the owner of the business actually on site doing the job. I would highly recommend Joe, and I would use him again. I wish more contractors operated the way that Joe does.

Joe responded with an estimate quickly to pave my driveway and the price was reasonable. The driveway was completed in an afternoon and he did a great job. Everyone in my neighborhood has used Joe's company. I would recommend him to do yours.

Joe the owner was one of the best contractors we have ever used. He was very friendly, on time, and best part he was on the job the whole time. He works as hard as his employees. They excavated our drive way ripping out old black top, than put new asphalt down. There prices were great, and workmanship was incredible. We just had trees removed and contractor left our place a mess. Joe and his employees cleaned up everything to perfection. i would highly recommend Joe Connolly paving to anyone.

The overall experience and results could not have been better. It started with the estimate--Joe Connolly was here on time and gave a very reasonable estimate with a drawing and specifications needed for the township approval. The 3-day project was started and completed right on schedule. Joe and his crew were all very pleasant to deal with, and Joe was on site and involved with the work the entire time. The new driveway and expansion look great. They tested the drainage and it worked well

Joe Connelly Paving should not be confused with other Connelly paving companies in the area (all related/family). I received at least five estimates for this job. This contractor's estimate was second highest out of ones I received. It was 30% lower than the highest but over 100% higher than the lowest. These estimates ranged from $2000 to $6900. This huge differential surprised me as I'm sure it does you. Joe did the estimate himself. He was prompt and courteous. His work vehicle was in excellent condition, very clean. This has little to do with the actual work he does but the overall impression I got from Joe was of confidence and professionalism and helped sway me to his company for this job despite the higher price. The work being done was to be performed over 2 days. Day one included the excavation of the old driveway and laying of the 4"-6" stone base. The second day included laying both coats of asphalt, each to be 2", and was to be competed at least 3 weeks later to allow for proper settling of the stone. On the first day of work, Joe arrived right on time at 7:00 am with a three to four man crew. I was not present to watch all work as it was being performed but upon my return, the first stage of the job was done and the crew was already gone. The work looked just as I had hoped. They had cleaned up very well and left me with a stone driveway on which I was able to park until the job was to be completed. The completion of the job was delayed five weeks due to weather and scheduling issues. This was not as big an issue as one may expect because the stone base was done so neatly that it was actually more aesthetically pleasing than my old driveway. Upon completion of the work, I couldn't have been more pleased. Very good job overall. It has been over a year now and I have had no issues with standing water and water flowing into my garage which is located at the base of the driveway. I cannot comment on very long term durability at this time.
