"Even though you didn't describe what was done on your last visit or your overall experience. I assume you were satisfied since you gave us all "A's". I always strive to give excellent customer service. If for any reason if you have a question or concern, please call me or email me. Thank for taking the time to write this review. Chuck Shumaker owner of Oakmont Automotive."
After obtaining a significantly high quote for repairs to our son's 2006 Ford Five Hundred, we sought out a second opinion/quote (the original quote was more than the current value of the car). We researched local automotive shops and found Chuck on Angie's List. What a lifesaver. I explained the situation and he told me to bring the car up the next morning, He'd put it up on the rack and tell us if we had to replace the entire sub frame and exhaust system or if there was a way to repair it. He had us examine the car with him while on the rack and explained everything in detail giving us options. His quote was more than reasonable and exceptionally fair. He never pressured for any of the work and did not try to sell us on anything. He also worked with our warranty company to cover some of the repairs as well. The car has been repaired, inspected and runs great. Our family is so relieved and grateful to Chuck and Oakmont Automotive. Thank you!!
We are new to the area. I found Oakmont Automotive on Angie?s List & chose it because of the reviews. Even though there are other auto service providers much closer, I prefer to travel the distance for service that I can trust. I?ve taken two cars there, twice each, & am very happy with the work & service. Chuck responds quickly, explains all issues thoroughly & doesn?t try to sell you something unneeded.

When our 20-something son visited from out-of-state, his car sounded awful & drove terribly. Chuck explained in depth about all the problems. Given the time frame & costs, he suggested fixing only the safety issues. He listed the items to be serviced soon as well. I appreciate Chuck?s truthfulness & working with us on getting our son's car running safely.

"I am so glad to hear that your satisfied with the service that we have given you and the way that I feel each customer should be taken care of. Finding some one that may be able to do the work may not be that difficult. Finding a shop that does what I say i'm going to do and showing you the old parts and explaining why is few and far between. I think it's the trust that makes your trip to my shop worth while. Thank you for taking the time to write the review."
"I'm glad to hear that your satisfied with our services. Hopefully the repairs and services will give you a trouble free trip and keep the vehicle operating properly. Thank you for taking the time to write this review."
I let the gentleman (Chuck, I believe) outside know that I had left the keys in my vehicle for him and proceeded to the door marked "customer waiting area" with my book. When I went to open the door, I found out it was locked. I looked in through the glass to see the customer waiting area had no furniture and was apparently under construction. I was not made aware of this when I scheduled my appointement on the phone and told the gentleman that I would be waiting, nor was I informed of this when I was asked on arrival if I would be waiting for the vehicle.
I went in through another door marked "office" which led to the vehicle work area with no customer waiting type area that I could see. Having no where to wait and no suggestions given by the staff at Oakmont, I stood outside and read my book. Thankfully I brought my own book and the appointment time was in between rain storms this morning.
I was approached only once during this service by the technician working on my vehicle to inform me that my wheel bearings could use replacement. The technician seemed professional.
At the end of the service I was approached by a gentleman (Chuck again, I believe) to collect payment. I told him I was a prepaid Angie's List customer. At this point he became more talkative, gave me a coupon, suggested some future maintenance, and thanked me for my business; however, this was our first interaction and there were plenty of opportunities for him to interact with me since I was standing outside and he walked within 3 feet of me at least 5 times without a single word or simple smile.
The repair was quoted to take one hour, and the technician finished the job ten minutes faster than that. The wheel alignment was done well from what I can tell on the drive home.
The job was done correctly and that was the highlight of the trip to Oakmont Automotive. I certainly did not feel welcomed, nor would I return due to my experience with their customer service. There were no factors besides successful job completion (per the quote) that were positive.
"I'm glad that you were satisfied with our services. Looking forward to doing business together again in the future. Thank you for taking the time to write this review."
"I was so flattered that you came all that way to have us repair your vehicle. The good thing is that Angie's List brought you to my shop! At least you know the type of repair and service work we provide and if you have other issues to make that long trip worth it. Thank you very much for taking the time to make this review."
"I'm glad you were satisfied with our service (it is our specialty!) I feel that it's up to us to do our best! Hopefully that will keep you coming back. Thank you for taking the time to write this review."
"It makes my job a little easier when dealing with some one that under stands that they have an older vehicle and it may cost a fair amount of money to properly keep it on the road. I'm glad your satisfied with my shop and how I treat my customers. Thank you for taking the time to submit this review. Chuck"
"One of the most important part of this repair is that the customer actually helped give us the information about previous repairs and back ground history that she wasn't the original owner etc. Doing our 29 point check along with a good inspection of the problem which was the brakes. Allowed us to help this customer make the best decision. We did explain her options and i'm glad she went with our recommendations. She also stated that she lives in the area, but not near by and I told her that we do offer free pick up and delivery service if getting a ride is a problem. Thank you for taking the time to share experience at my shop. Chuck Shumaker owner of Oakmont Automotive"
"I'm glad to hear that your satisfied with the service we have been giving you. Referrals and praise from good people like you are what makes my job a whole lot easier. Thanks again Chuck Shumaker"
"I'm glad to hear that you take the time to refer me to your friends and family members. I appreciate that you take that extra effort to come here, I know your schedule for car repairs and service is limited. It might be easier to go some where else close to work etc. I hope that you feel like your treated differently at Oakmont Automotive than how your treated at a different repair shop. I could have sold you new brakes like you thought you needed, or made some kind of reasoning why your perfectly good brakes weren't working properly and the other shop doesn't know what they're doing. I hope that your referrals will far out weigh the amount of money I could have made on that unnecessary brake repair. I feel that good things happen to those who do good things for other people. Thanks again."
"This is a reminder to me how valuable your time is. Even though it was only 30 minutes longer than the amount of time we tell most customers it takes to put on 4 tires. Like you stated a larger tire, excessive amount of wheel weights on the old tires made it take a little longer. If I would have known that time was of the essence I would have done better to accomidate you. My priority is to do the job right the first time and sometimes that takes a little longer also. Thank you for taking the time write this review."
"Any time you have a new customer, letting them know how I run my business (fixing your car as if it were my own). Letting them know what we offer in this case. Free tire rotations and Nitrogen fill ups for the life of the tires. Along with scheduled maintenance that may be over due Hopefully the customer can see the value of trusting us to work on their vehicles. We may not always have the lowest price. The service is what I feel that we specialize in. The 10% discount each time also helps offset pricing issues and travel expenses if were not close to where you live."
"I'm glad that I took the time to pick up and delver your car. It's a convienience to alot of people with their busy schedules. Hopefully the maintenance we did helped cut down on a possible future problem. Plus we addressed items needed so you can budget for them. Thank you taking the time to write a review."
"It's nice to hear that we are exceeding the expectations of customers. We do a 29 point inspection on every car at the time of service or repair (along with what the vehicle is in for service or repair). After we base what's needed and or recommended we try to give choices based on the age of the vehicle, mileage and inormation given from customer along with previous servcie history. This way we aren't doing any high pressure sales. Just making recommendations on how I would fix this car if it were my own."
