We purchased this property in August 2013 as a vacation home. The front yard was densely overgrown and much of the area was enclosed with black, plastic deer fencing. You couldn't see much of the house from the street. I wanted to give it some curb appeal and keep it low-maintenance since we won't be there all the time. Besides repairing the drainage issue, my ask was basically, "Please clean up this jungle." I chose Casey based on the reviews I saw on Angie's List. He arrived when he said he would and walked around the yard with me while I explained my ideas and asked his opinions. He had some great ideas about how to reshape/rebuild the crumbled front wall to make it both aesthetically pleasing and reduce water flow through the yard. There were three paths leading to the front door and I thought that was overkill, so he suggested a way to reroute one of the paths to the driveway and convert the third path into a bed. He also recommended the five plants to use for the bed - ones that won't get too large and deer aren't so fond of. He suggested putting river rock along the right side of the house for a more pleasing look than the muddy swale that was there. He also recommended building up the dirt along the side to help keep the water away from the house. He offered to repair the stone wall around the patio that was partially collapsing for no additional charge. The work was completed over a one-week period. He and his crew were there about 6 days in a row. I was not able to be there during the work and Casey kept in touch with me to let me know the status. He even followed up a couple of weeks after completion to see how I liked it. Unfortunately, it was about three weeks before I was able to get up there to see the work. He was concerned that the new plants would need water (but we had that taken care of) and said he was going to drive by and just check on things. He was very excited for me to see the results and mentioned that the leaves were starting to fall now and he was going to clean it up a bit to be sure it looked its best when I arrived. I don't know if he actually did this, but his enthusiasm was really cute ( for lack of a more macho word - sorry, Casey). Besides that he did a high quality job and was 100% reliable, I especially liked that Casey was so eager and excited and about doing the work. I think he really enjoys it and had fun turning the mess into something nice. The wall is especially beautiful and I could tell he was very proud of it. I will definitely call on him again once we get a bit more established in the house. He was such a pleasure to work with!

John Casey responded quickly to our call for a consultation on the work we wanted done. He listened to our ideas and suggested enhancements on improving our project in addition to guiding us through the material selection process. We contracted at a very reasonable price and payment schedule and Casey honored our contracted price even as we made some changes after work was started. Casey and his two workers, Dylan and Rick, began demolition on Tuesday, 9/17, and the job was completed on 9/27 after 9 continuous weekdays of work. The entire crew was pleasant, courteous and most importantly, they did a really great job. All aspects of the project exceeded our expectations. At the end of every work day, the site was cleaned up and all debris removed. Casey did a number of things that we hadn't even contracted for, such as finishing a paver section of the driveway with a polymer sand product that was used on the patio. A great experience and we would certainly recommend J. Casey Landscape Design to anyone who wants a top quality job at a reasonable price.

Casey is a great local find. He is eager to please and his knowledge is admirable. He has always shown up on time and delivered services that were greater than expected. Good value!

I have used Mr. Casey before. As always he was prompt and completed the job when promised. Mr. Casey, on a prior occasion, filled in an area to the left of my property that was cluttered with weeds, dead trees and brush. He then installed 18 arborvitae trees and a few Blue Star Junipers, and completely upgraded the landscape of my property. Mr. Casey also planted 4 burning bushes directly in front of my property. Mr. Casey is fair and straightforward, and very easy to work with. I have been extremely pleased so far and will continue working with him to beautify my property.

He did everything he said he would do. He did a really good job. It was excellent. I highly recommend him.

Casey stuck to his word - he was there when he said he would be (unless it was poor weather conditions), and always on time. As promised, he made us his primary concern and came until the stop was complete. No other business took him away from us. He has a small team, and they focus on one customer at a time, which was WONDERFUL! His prices were reasonable, and his work was great. We would hire him for any other landscaping project we may have in the future!

They showed up when promised and removed the old wood ties, put in a bed of stone and then placed the block steps. It was like a puzzle with large heavy pieces. And it came out perfectly. He then asked if we were happy with the layout and then glued them down. In addition we had our mulch and stone areas replenished, a tree cut down and our block patios resanded. All work was done in 4 days and at the agreed upon price.

He was on time and prompt. He called me a few times to make sure everthing was OK

J Casey rebuilt gravel road and graded driveway excellently. They cut and replanted grasses and plants beautifully. Weeded and added plants to rock garden and did seeding. Extensively mulched and cleaned up property on lakeside. Removed weeds and added weedkiller where needed. Repaired outside stairs and walls and other necessary property work with great initiative as necessary. Outstanding!ss

The existing wood tie wall was actually fine but we wanted it extended and decided on block to match some of the other walls we have (our lot is mostly inclined up a hill). The block wall looks great and the landscaping with the new hedge is doing very well. Also had a dogwood tree planted, which is doing well also.

They always show up when promised, and if there is a problem he calls. They completed the work in a week as promised. If you need a wall built it will be done correctly at a reasonable price. I don't even get competing estimates any more. Others may be a little cheaper but with Casey I know the work will be done right with quality materials and on time.

We have used him for years. His quality and responsiveness is why we use him. I will use him again in the future.
