Expectations were a little higher so could be that factor, found some dirt and hair left underneath the finish and left the stain on doors and such-could have been neater. For price was better then sanding down it all

I was told by Tom that the quarter round did not need to be taken up. Needless to say, the sander went right into them causing me to attempt to wood putty and repair. (It is too deep and will all need to be replaced...) When the stain was applied, it was passively applied to the quarter round that had been sanded by me and waiting to be painted white. I had to re-sand and paint that and the woodwork that had been damaged. I showed Tom where his crew just bent up the heater vent- chunking the quarter round. I needed to replace the vent and repair the woodwork. There are curved scratches in the finished product. When I shared with Tom, his response was, “ yes, that happens”. In smaller areas, such as corners or against the wall, the stain looks like smeared shoe polish. When I pointed that out, Tom replied,” let me think about what can be done to fix that.” That was months ago; haven’t heard anything about it. Essentially my house has been damaged a great deal; Tom was made aware; nothing has been done about it. This experience has made me decide to never rely on Angie’s List for recommendations.

They did an incredible job with the new hardwood and preexisting flooring...they blended together seamlessly and looks beautiful. What was most impressive about the company, and Tom Dykie specifically, is how they handled a mishap. While installing new flooring, the workers accidentally broke a sliding glass door. Tom immediately called me and had the glass door fixed and the problem resolved in no time. These are people I want to do business with, hard working, honest and great craftsmen.

We have an old home with original old oak/walnut floors. The floors are thin, the nailheads are visible,  they are a mix of no sealer/stain (and dry) and thick sealer, as well as having a number of stains from pets, so we were told doing the full refinishing was probably going to be expensive, as they would need to replace a lot of the floor. A friend recommended the sandless route, and I found Mr. Sandless on Angies list. I was provided an estimate over the phone, as the cost of the rooms/stairs is pretty standard- I did provide the approximate size. They did encourage me to do all 3 rooms and stairs at once, as that would be cheapest. I was originally scheduled for the week before, but due to scheduling issues, they called to reschedule the day before, which was not an issue for me. They called me the morning of to let me know the approximate time they would arrive. 2 workers were part of the crew, and they went over the contract and general process I could expect during the day. I wasn't given much of an option for the color- as they would make the color to best hide the stains. They were professional, understanding of the animals (dogs/cats) in the house, and completed the work in about 5 hours (~1000 sq ft). They gave me instructions on when we could walk on it (within 2 hours of them leaving- no animals until the next day), how to clean it, and asked for any feedback. Overall it was a great experience, our floors look amazing, and best part of all is that we were able to use the rooms the next day.

Everything went very well.  This was a good alternative to the traditional refinishing.  The nice part, is was done relatively quickly and we did not have the dust, etc that we otherwise would have had.  Very good job.  We had one thing we wanted corrected- and they were very responsive, came back immediately.

Tom was very professional and accommodating in assisting our family across country to refinished our hardwood flooring during the process of selling our home.  Got back to us right away with a ballpark cost and then visited our home to give us a firm cost.  He did the work when he said he would, even got our home done earlier than anticipated to accommodate with the sale of our home.  Would highly recommend Mr. Sandless of Pottstown.

We initially called Tom to come and refinish the floors. After removing all the carpet and padding myself I discovered stains on the hardwood. When Tom and his team arrived the next morning the plan had to change as he would have not been able to get rid of the stains. Tom provided a cost effective approach to removing the compromised areas (one whole dining room and a few boards in a bedroom). The entire team was professional and courteous. Tom was very responsive and easy to reach at all times (weekends and after typical working hours).

The experience with Mr. Sandless was good but it could have been excellent if I receved the promised one hundred dollar ($100) referral fee. During the sanding and refinishing process, my neighbor asked about my experience with Mr Sandless and asked to come over to my home to view their work . Once completed the floors looked great . I told them about my neighbors interest in their services and asked the tech to go next door to my neighbors house to provide an estimate and I was promised a $100 referral fee if my neighbor entered into a contract for their services. They completed the work at my neighbors house and promised to deliver the referral fee to my home the same week but instead I received some floor cleaning fluid hung on my door knob. After several phone calls I gave up on any chance of getting my referral fee.

First, the crew showed up as promised on the time and date of the job. Men were very professional and knowledgeable, taped and plastic off the surrounding areas, and got to work. Lead man of the crew was outstanding as he explained everything all the way through. The sanding was almost dustless and at the end of the day, they cleaned any residual dust (which wasnt much). I was surprised as I remembered and quot;back in the dayand quot; how messy this process was. On day two the sanding continued with a 3 man crew. The floor was completely stripped. After stripping the stain was applied. Day 3 was finishing work (all day) with multiple coats of sealer and finish. It was a very laborious process and took patience and time. Tom (the owner) guys were terriffic, very efficient, and very professional. I can't say enough good things about the work done, the business dealing, or the way it was all handled. This was a wonderful experience and less disruptive than I could have imagined. Floors look awesome !!

I would highly recommend them to anyone.....

Very pleasant experience. Everyone was prompt, from Tom (the owner) on the first appointment, to the workers both days. We could not use their and quot;sandlessand quot; process due to the nature of the damage on the floors. They did a magnificent job, very pleased with the result. Crew members were professional, worked hard, did what they said they were going to do. No surprises, no dirt.
Sanded and stained day 1, applied finish coats on day 2.

I think I saw a TV commercial or web ad for this company, and the idea of a sandless process intrigued me. We have two youngsters and I couldn't imagine trying to keep them out of the house and away from the rooms for the ~1 week it would have taken me to sand/stain/multi-coat-poly the floor like I did when we first moved in. I was skeptical of the quality (and I'm still a bit skeptical), as I knew there would be some tradeoffs. This is a franchise organization. The franchise owner directly answered my emails; he also came out personally to do take a look at the floor ahead of time to point out problem areas that their process would not fix. One gripe on the "professionalism" category is that I was originally quoted $799 since my online quote request showed two rooms (dining and kitchen). I emailed back and said that it's really one room (10x18) with a countertop separating the sections. The owner sent me back another quote for $599 saying it was their special two-room price. Just wondering why I didn't get the "special" two-room price with the original quote. I was fine with the second price, though, so I didn't try to negotiate it down. Our floor really needed to be sanded in some spots, but you really can't just spot sand these things. So, it was confirmed by the owner that those spots wouldn't look great even after they worked their magic, but he convinced me that the rest of the floor would look great. There was no pressure - if anything, he was solely there to make sure that when they finish, it would meet my expectations. In other words, he was there to lower my expectations :) The two workers showed up on time. They were polite and got right to work. They asked if they could have a radio on - I said sure, and they ran it at a low volume. The process is multi-step, and after each step they need to let things dry. The first step was to remove at least some portion of the original finish - they use a chemical that seemed to smell like citrus, but not a strong smell. After this was done, they needed to run fans to quick-dry the floor for the first coat of new finish. The finish coats smelled worse than I expected. I cracked open a few windows, but they asked me to keep them shut since the cold air could make the finish crack while it was drying. After 3 coats, the house really smelled. It wasn't a bad scent, but the fumes were a bit overwhelming. When they were all done, they said we'd be able to walk on it within a few hours (socks only at first), and then move furniture back by the next morning. That was what I was hoping for - no dust and a quick turn-around on the project. The owner had described the new finish ahead of time by saying that I could take a wet rag and wipe it across the floor to simulate what the new finish would look like. That was pretty accurate, even for the problem areas. Where there was basically bare wood where the original finish had worn off, there is now a protective coating but still no color. Where the stain was still in good shape, the floor looked like new. The only gripe is that our original poly finish was a satin finish, so it wasn't very glossy. This Mr. Sandless process provides a glossy finish, and I was told that was our only option. Now that we've lived with it for a few months, I will say that I'm still glad that we did it. It was worth the money to avoid the hassle and save my time. The floor scuffs more than our old one did, but I'm chalking that up to the glossy finish. They claim a 6 year warranty, but it has all kinds of things about not including wear and tear - seems like the only time that warranty would come in handy is if the finish started peeling off entirely.

We had a hardwood floor in our dining room, hallway and another small room that was in horrible shape. There were cat pee stains all over the floor where either the finish was black or there was no finish left at all. We don't have carpets and we also have dogs so just from normal everyday wear and tear, the main walk-through area looked bad. Tom Dykie met with me just days after I called him. We discussed the sandless method he uses but he assured me that method would not get rid of the pet stains. So we went with resanding/new stain. Tom said the only way to make the stains completely disappear would be to replace the wood. But we decided to take our chances. First of all, after the sanding, the floor looked like new wood. The pet stains were considerably lighter. Then Tom put down a walnut stain that not only looked beautiful but went a long way in hiding the stains. We are thrilled with the way the floor look. Yes, the stains are still slightly visible but a room full of beautiful wood flooring overshadows any imperfection. We are thrilled! And Tom was wonderful to work with. He's easy to get along with, very professional, knows what he's doing and inspires confidance. We would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat. Oh and the process was very quick. In our renovation project where every project takes an average of four weeks to complete, with Tom Dykie - from the first call to the finished product it was exactly 10 days.

We just moved into a home with hardwood floors. The previous owner re-sanded and stained the floors, but we believe were not sealed (well?). We called several companies including Mr. Sandless. All the other folks (whom were very nice and professional) wanted to re-sand the floors and start from scratch, which would change the color more than we wanted and create a lot of sanding dust(we would have to clean the walls etc, they'd do the floors). Mr. Sandless did it just as they're name implies, no sanding. They did it in 1 day and we were very happy. Before they started they walked us through the job and explained what thier process would and wouldn't take care of. We enjoyed the workers and they liked their jobs. The guys were very trustworthy.
