Excellent! I've used Terry's plumbing services with great results. Now I hired them to remodel my upstairs bathroom. Bob, who supervised the project, was a pure delight to have around, friendly, but always professional. The bathroom came out better than I'd expected and pretty close to budget. Workers always arrived on time and cleaned up after themselves. We're thrilled with the result.

I contacted them through online form. Called them personally twice, and they never got back or even initially called me. My first impression of them after this experience is very poor. Contacted another plumber personally. Terry's Plumbing passed up ao 10K job.
Description of Work: Nothing, thanks to them not getting back to me.
At my 84 year old mother's home the garage floor had to be broken out, new main sewer drain pipe installed, and the concrete restored. Personal property in the garage was damaged and buried under excavation debris. Tools and buckets used for the new concrete were rinsed off into the lawn which killed a large area of it. The newly laid concrete was approximately 1 inch thick, not the minimum 3 ½ inches required by building code for a residential garage, and it started cracking out almost immediately. Please see the photos, no reasonable person would try to claim that what is being put down is almost 4 inches thick. Sent Terry a check for everything minus the concrete since it had to be redone, but he sued my mother. Since the contract was in my mother's name, her being elderly and too intimidated to speak before a magistrate, the magistrate refused to even look at the photo and video evidence I provided. Ended up having to pay way too much to a lousy person for a shoddy job that quickly failed.

Not as well as I would have liked. The man who showed up appeared to be on drugs and talked way to much to me about things I have no desire to hear about, even told him as much, but he kept talking to me. Way way way overpriced!
It worked!!! I waited so long to wait this review because I was so skeptical. To see the amount of water that came in (and it came in every rain after that until we did this method), and to think all I need was the hydraulic cement, the DRYLOK paint (lots of coats) and point some drainage away from the house, we haven't had a drop of water since!! Terry could have easily came into my house that day, told me I had no option, needed a french drain or some sort of drain system, but he didn't. He was honest, gave me options to avoid dumping thousands into a new system in my house. I called him several times through out this process (it took us a few weeks to do it ourselves) asking him basic questions (This product or that product, how many coats, how long to dry, etc) and he never turned me away. He walked me through everything and offered to come out if we needed him to see something. It is so hard to find people you can trust in this business, but I would recommend Terrys Plumbing any day. I know I won't be using any other plumber (including the "best in the business") ever again, only Terry's Plumbing. By the Way- this entire process cost me a service call price (one time) with Terry's, that was IT!
Description of Work: My basement and garage took on an extreme amount of water in October due to an abnormal amount of rain our area took on. This house has never had any water issues prior to this event, and suddenly I had puddles all through my bottom floor of my house. It came in where the floor met the wall, all around the bottom of the house. It was a crystal clear situation to set me up for needing a french drain (we didn't have or ever need one before this). Also we recently had the another plumbing company, you know, "the best in the business" (I am being sarcastic) for a dye test that failed. He had to add a pipe at the end of our gutter and didn't even bother to point it away from the house!! It was dumping TONS of water right into the foundation against the house, so disappointing. So I call a better plumber, Terry, who offered to sell me the pipe and just tell me how to extend it without having to pay for one of his guys to come out and pay for labor for an easy fix, I just didn't know how to do it. With Terry, I was able to avoid the french drain and he told me to try waterproofing the entire basement & garage first. He told me exactly what to buy, how to do it, told me it would save a ton of money if we did it instead of being charged by him to do it. He didn't promise it would work, but he said it was worth a try to save me thousands on a french drain if we could avoid it.

They were able to fit me right in due to a cancellation. They arrived exactly when they said they would. Joe evaluated the issue we were having with a loud humming noise that occurred when we ran water from any of our faucets. Initially, my husband and I thought it was one thing, but Joe determined it to be something else. It turned out to be a simpler (and less expensive) fix! He also saved us hundreds of dollars, and years of headaches with some other minor adjustments made while he was here. His honesty and professionalism were top-notch! We would definitely hire this company again.

They said, well, we do not have to come out right now and give you a very big emergency bill so we'll be out first thing tomorrow morning it will cost you normal. They fixed that and they fixed a couple of other things that were not done properly from the original home owner. So that was lovely and I was shocked how affordable it was. Fabulous service, affordable, professional, timely, everything you would want.

They did an average job. The leak was in my ceiling and they had to cut a hole out of the ceiling and that caused some damage to the drywall. There was a lot of dirt and even though they fixed the pipe they did not fix the drywall.

The plumber was pretty darn rude and condescending. Earlier, Terry's had replaced a large portion of our copper pipe with pex tubing, but they had not done the complete basement (not sure why). As a result, we were dealing with another leak and I wanted the remainder of the copper replaced with pex. The plumber refused to do it and insisted on replacing only the stretch with the leak. In addition, on Terry's earlier visit, at our request, they turned the water pressure down lower than optimal. I asked this plumber to turn it up and he argued with me over the request. I thought he was not going to do it, but he did, although he turned the pressure up to a point above what I had requested. After this experience, they will not be in our home again.

Terry's Plumbing to the rescue! On Sunday the 10th, I noticed some water coming into my basement at an impressive rate. Since we moved in October 2014, this had happened a few times with heavy rain, but nothing to this magnitude - it was literally pushing holes in the hydraulic cement i had patched in a few places. There was a sudden cold snap on the 10th as well, went from nearly 50 degrees the day before, to about 0 degrees in a day - and that was coupled with about a half inch of rain - so I just immediately thought I needed a drain. On the off chance it was a water line, I called my borough and asked them to come and check to make sure that this wasn't the case. The borough didn't call me back until Monday morning, after which I spent most of the night trying to abate the leaking to no avail. The water company professional told me that he didn't think that it would be a water line, or backed storm drain, because the water lines were new, and there are no storm drains on our street. He also mentioned that with the recent snowfall, that they would have to wait to check the line until there was a dry day and a decrease in traffic to be able to hear if there was a leak. So, based on that information, I surrendered to the fact that I would most likely need an internal french drain. I called several places, and even a general contractor, all of whom didn't have immediate response times. This is important, because of what my wife and I had to do whilst waiting for an eval and price we could afford - this was building a levy in my basement to contain the water, using flow dams to try to direct it to drains, and every towel, blanket and sheet in the house needed to be spun out in the washer, and about 30 gallons of water vacuumed out and dumped every 6 hrs, for 7 days, so it didn't completely destroy my basement. We entertained all offers, none were great, but we were going to have to do something soon. Then, on Thursday night, I noticed that around my curb box for the water service line had no snow, neither did my hillside, and it was very soggy. So I took pictures, and sent them to the borough manager, asking for someone to come and check the line. Move to Friday Morning, the water authority gentleman who came up three times over the next few days, was such a nice man, and he very nicely told us what the problem was, and what we needed to do to get it fixed. I called in every person I knew, even my uncle who was a retired plumber for suggestions, no one had a good one, so I turned to Angie's List, and good thing I did. When I called Terry's plumbing, they were delightful, and Terry himself came out and took a look at what needed to be done. He gave me an amazing quote within my budget, and said that they would be back on Monday. Terry was the absolute best, he was respectful, honorable, and stood behind everything he said to me. The crew that Terry send must be his "A-Team" because Jason, Jason and Tim were top shelf. They put me at ease about everything, and got everything taken care of and the water back on within just a few hours of being here the first day. They came back day 2 to straighten up the yard, and patch a hole in my basement floor where the new line came in. The whole Job went off without a hitch, other than it being about 6 degrees outside the whole time. They cleaned up everything very nicely, and gave me all the information I would need to keep myself safe going forward, and even let me know that my water tank is aging and we might want to budget for that next before it goes. Very professional, very good expert work and advice. I will use Terry's Plumbing again, and will recommend them to everyone I know. This was my first big hurdle as a homeowner, and Terry's made it easier for me. Can't thank them enough.

The plumber was friendly but incompetent. I was remodeling the shower and I had already removed the old tiles and backerboard. I needed the plumber to change the pipes from the three knob set up to the more popular single dial to turn on the hot and cold water for the shower. As soon as the work was completed, he tried to leave before testing the plumbing for any leaks. The major issue was he made the copper pipe for the tub faucet the wrong length, so it was impossible to actually connect the tub faucet to the copper pipe. It was short by almost a full inch. I did not notice that issue until after he left. Once the weekend came around, I began to work on installing the backerboard onto the wall studs as it sat on the lip of the tub (which is the only place to install backerboard), I then noticed how short the copper pipe was for the tub faucet was. I called the office for Terry's Plumbing. At first they tried to blow me off and wouldn't admit to any wrong. After some persistence on my end, they did send the plumber back out later that same day on a Saturday. Overall I respected the way the office handled the situation, but they sent the same guy out who still couldn't get it correct. On the 2nd trip, he made the pipe for the tub faucet too long which left about a 1/2 inch gap. Instead of working to make it correct, he told me there was no way to make it the correct length, and that I would just have to put caulking between the huge gap between the tub faucet piece and the tile. I thought he was crazy because that is where all the water splashes during a normal shower and the gap was huge. Nevertheless, the plumber left without fixing the problem. I told my new neighbor about it, and he was able to adjust the fitting on the copper pipe so the faucet was even with wall IN LESS THAN 10 MINUTES and he had minimal experience just tinkering around his house. This "professional" couldn't get it right in 2 trips. I THINK THE COMPANY SHOULD HAVE GIVEN ME A REFUND because they couldn't complete the work as requested, although my amateur neighbor fixed it easily. INCOMPETENCE.
Description of Work: I was remodeling the shower and I asked the plumber to convert a 3 knob faucet to a single knob system while the wall was opened up. However, the plumber was too incompetent to complete the work as requested but the company charged me full price as if they did.

I use them all the time. They're really good. In November 2012, they removed a really old bath tub and installed a new vinyl tub and surround. I would recommend them. They're phenomenal. The person who came was probably the best service person ever. The second time, I had a toilet that wasn't sitting level on the floor and they remedied that. That was probably $300. That was very expensive. They had to pull stuff out of the floor and rebuild things.
Description of Work: I had a really bad clog in my kitchen sink and my garbage disposal wasn't working. They worked on it.
