SARGENT ELECTRIC SERVICES

Sargent Electric was punctual. They did what they were supposed to. The only problem was when they took out the trash, they took the instructions and I might have needed them when replacing the battery. They were good. The quality was very good and clean. They were very neat.

I called Sargent Electric to schedule what was advertised as a free estimate. I was informed that the estimate was free, but there would be a $25 "appearance" fee. No biggie. An electrician was supposed to arrive at 7:30 AM on a Tuesday. No one showed. I called at 8:15, because I had to go to work, and the guy who scheduled the appointment tried to tell me I had the wrong day (which he eventually admitted wasn't the case).

Got here as scheduled, did a thorough check, spotted some not obvious problems, persisted in problem-checking until they corrected the underlying problems.

The company was over an hour late, and their guarantee was they would arrive within 30 minutes of their scheduled time. The contractor worked at a slow pace, telling a passer by that the job should take about 4 hours and in actuality it took almost 6.

very good. Gene was prompt. I was at work while he was doing work. He stayed in communication with him through out the job. was very professional. even when the unexpected occurred, eg, it was difficult to run the wire through the ceiling because it was concrete and the space for the wire was limited. Gene knew what he was doing.

Service was prompt and polite. They notified us of a dangerous situation in the wiring outside the house that Duquesne Light came and fixed.

Elvis and Gene arrived maybe 20 minutes late, but they were prepared and got to work quickly. Elvis worked on installing the new panel, and Gene worked on the service entrance cable and meter socket. I'm a do-it-yourselfer when it comes to most household wiring jobs, but this was a big job that required handling live wires so I called in professionals. They both worked quickly and neatly. Elvis took particular care in the layout of the wires inside the new panel, which is generally not something most people will ever see, but it makes quite a difference down the road during upgrades or troubleshooting. He answered many questions that I had about safely handling the older "BX" armored cable that is present in much of my home. He even installed four spare breakers, since I told him I had additional projects and would be needing more power. I would definitely hire these guys again.

I’m doing some updates to my small galley kitchen in my 85-year old home, and wanted to replace a ceiling fluorescent light with a vintage style track light. In addition, I wanted to add a pendant light over my sink, with a separate switch. I called Sargent and talked with Tim – he was very helpful and friendly, and was able to send someone the next day. An electrician named Elvis arrived the next morning exactly when scheduled, with all the tools and supplies he needed. He covered all the kitchen counters to protect them from dust, and went to work. The replacement fixture went in easily, but he really had to be creative in installing the new fixture over the sink. An old house always offers a few surprises, but Elvis found the way to feed the wires through with minimal damage to the walls. After he completed the job, he cleaned everything up and swept the floor – a nice guy and a great professional. I will definitely use Sargent again in the future.

It turned out great. He also did a home safety inspection for me. I would highly recommend him.

My new dryer was not receiving enough power to heat itself. I called Sargent Electric that afternoon and they offered to send an electrician the next day. I, however, needed someone to come that day as I was unavailable the next day and did not want to go longer without the dryer. I was concerned particularly because my house is 110 years old and sold to me by a real estate flipper. I worried that there could be a more severe electrical problem. Saregent was able to send someone within the hour for an additional fee. The electrician was knowledgeable and friendly and quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He also made certain all the other circuits in the electrical box were connected and working properly and allayed my concerns.

I called the company at 1pm. Within 10 minutes I got a call back that someone would be at my house within the hour. Tim replaced 2 switches and we were good to go by 2:30pm. I would definitely use this company again. I feel that the price was a little more than I expected to pay, but will use Sargent Electric again due to their punctuality, friendliness and cleanliness. I would probably still be waiting for a call back had I contacted another service provider.

I called Sargent on January 30th in the late morning. The gentleman who took the call said that they could have someone come the next morning (new year's eve) sometime before noon. About 10 am on the 31st, the electrician called and said he would be there between 10:30 and 10:45. He arrived at 10:30. He checked the breaker and the electrical box and replaced the breaker. He then checked the lamps and outlets that were on that circuit to make sure we had no frayed cords or bad outlets. Finding no problem, he cleaned up and left. during the entire time, he explained what he was doing and why and then charged $65.00 for the entire service. Money very well spent. I would use them again in a heartbeat. I had a very unsatisfactory experience with another company in the past and am so glad to find Sargent.

One minor complaint. We were told the electrician would come at 7:30 am, and by 8:15, there was neither an electrician or a phone call. I called Sargent and was told the electrician would be there "before 10." After some clarification, the electrician was scheduled to arrive at 9:30 and was there at exactly that time. Even though it was extremely cold, he started on the new lights quickly, then came in for the ceiling fan. He finished that off and fixed the outdoor outlet. He was honest about a few needed parts and sent me to a hardware store, which he said would be cheaper than buying off of him. So he installed a new transformer for the doorbell and everything worked great. The work was done well, quickly, and professionally. He apologized for being late (even though that was his boss's fault) and gave us a discount on the work.

Of the 3 electricians I called over the course of 3 days, Sargent was the only one who was able to visit the same day I called them. One never returned the call and one scheduled but then had to cancel at the last minute due to an injury. I called Sargent on a Friday morning, the service manager called me back shortly after noon, and the tech was there a couple of hours later, saving my tenants a weekend without electricity--or at least saving me an overtime charge. Once the tech arrived (Gene) he realized that the breaker was a different model than he expected so he called his office and they located one at a supplier nearby. He went and picked it up, returned, and completed the repair. He also made some suggestions for additional updates to the service, which we will undertake soon. The price was about $100 more than I expected, but no more than I would have paid to have an electrician visit over the weekend.

Their service and the work they did was great.

I already had an idea that my lamp post was not working due to the line being cut. I called on a Wednesday to schedule them to come out and fix it and they were able to get me in on Friday. It took them about 3 hours from start to finish.

They did a fine job. They were punctual. The pricing was reasonable.

Technician came out as soon as he possibly could. It was high quality work, he was upfront with the costs. I highly recommend them and would use them in the future.

Due to my own scheduling conflicts, I had to reschedule job. This proved to be no problem for the company. The same technician who estimated job was able to fit it into his schedule at a later job and all went very smoothly and satisfactorily.

We had a very positive experience. The work stretched over two days. The Electrician who performed the work was very professional and informative. He also was flexible in adding additional work to the order.

Initially, thought they could tap into an existing circuit but determined this was impractical and not recommended. After calling in to office, determined they could split existing wire circuit and not run new wire, and leave extra circuit breaker in box.

I had a good experience with Sargent Electric overall. The quality of the work was excellent. I had never used Sargent before. They are a large company and when I called initially, I spoke with a "receptionist" who took my information and said someone would get back to me. Someone called the following day. I was not able to return his call that day and so he called back the following day (that's a good sign). When we did finally talk, I was able to make an early morning appointment (7:00 AM). I would have liked to have an appointment in the evening (after work) but they only work until 3:00 PM (I think that's what he said), and a weekend was never offered as a possibility, but anyway...The appointment was scheduled for the following Wednesday. The electrician arrived at 7:00 AM sharp and was ready to go. He knew his stuff and did his job. He answered all of my questions and (at my request) even inspected the work I had done myself. I asked for a quote to possibly upgrade my older 100 amp service panel to a 150 amp panel and he did it right there on the spot (in writing). The price he quoted me was almost identical to another large electric firm I had to the house a few weeks earlier, so I guess that's a good sign too. I was pleased with what I got for my money. The electrician, Tim, was pleasant and professional. Come to think of it, I never asked for an estimate on the work I needed to be done...I didn't even ask them to ballpark it...I do remember asking them about hourly rates though...If pressed to voice one concern, I would say that for very simple things (like my actual "work" of installing the breaker) I don't know if I would wait five days again for an available appointment...I may consider looking for someone who could come a little sooner. I was almost tempted to call someone with "no job too small" in their ad, but I'm glad I went with Sargent.
