Matt Mertz Plumbing Trenchless Sewer Repair Expert

Matt Mertz and his co-worker fit me into their schedule on relatively short notice. He worked diligently but was not able to fit the camera into the sewer because tree roots filled the line. He then used a "snake" to cut through some of the roots but still was not able to get the camera into the line. He assessed that the sewer line had to be replaced and provided me with costs to perform the services so I could make informed decisions. I'm not thrilled that he found problems but I am sure glad I'm aware of everything before going through with the home purchase. I recommend this service to anyone purchasing a home and recommend Matt to anyone interested in this service.

While on the phone, we made an appointment for this afternoon. Mr. Mertz offered a two hour window, and arrived well within that window, calling first to say that he was on his way. He worked quickly, and replaced the plastic tubing with copper, which will last longer. He was finished within one hour. I will definitely work with this individual again. I have some more extensive work that I want to do with a bathroom, and I trust that Mr. Mertz will work with the same level of expertise, professionalism and courtesy.

It was a Saturday evening, and we had relatives visiting, so of course that's when the plumbing went wonky. We called Matt at 5:30 and asked if he could come by. He happened to be driving right past us at the time, and was there within 10 minutes. He made short work of the stoppages, and was soon on his way. Polite, efficient, fast, clean, tidy; all in all, an excellent plumber that we'll be sure to use again.

We have used Matt on several occasions for all of our plumbing needs: most recently to replace our water heater, and prior to that to replace the kitchen garbage disposal, replace a bathroom sink, clear clogged drains/tiolet, etc. So, we are a repeat customer. Matt does all of the work himself and does very good quality work. He is always responsive - when you call he answers the phone - and is honest about his schedule and ability to get to the work quickly or not. I just recently called him about an emergency need. He was honest in telling me that he couldn't get to it for about 48 hours. But he recommended me to someone else who was able to respond right away. His prices are competitive. Not the cheapest but not the highest either. We are comfortable with him and with his work and so he is always our first and last call for plumbing needs. We would (and in fact have on several occasions) recommended Matt to others.

I found his name on Angies List and called to have a leak repaired. I left a message and he got back to me within the same day. We set a date and time and he arrived punctually and did the work. We asked him about repairing a pipe that had frozen and burst several years ago in our finished basement. We had simply turned off the water supply to the external facet. We set a date and time and when asked he recommended a person to do the drywall repair. He arrived for the work exactly on time and again completed the work efficiently and professionally. he even picked up an folder the sheets I had put down to protect the floor. The person he recommended for the dry wall repair also arrived as scheduled and did a very good job. We are very pleased with the experince and highly recommend Matt.

Our kitchen faucet began to leak, and the water pressure dropped significantly. Prior to our appointment, Matt advised me by phone regarding the likely problem and suggested that I pick out a new kitchen faucet before he came over. He also suggested a brand that would have the best warranty. He arrived exactly as scheduled, and completed the work in under 2 hours. He was very careful to prevent damanging the tile floor by using a canvas drop cloth. The workmanship was very good, and the price was very reasonable. I cannot think of anything that could have been better.

Overall it went very well and I would use him again for other plumbing services.

Leaking water heater, 12 year old unit, uh oh, here we go again, joys of home ownership. I called Matt based on Angie's list recommendations when the plumber I had been using couldn't do the job immediately. Matt returned my call in a few minutes, said he could get it done that day, and named a fair price for a good quality water heater. His brother Bill & helper arrived on time, and completed the job in a couple hours. They even straightened out the plumbing to face the heater into the middle of the room, rather than the side like the prior installations. They cleaned up after themselves very well. At all times they were professional, courteous, and friendly. And we have hot water again!

Matt returned to finish work he had begun after a pipe burst in my wall upstairs. I submitted a report for the first job in June. Because he was so very professional and helpful on this visit, I wanted to submit another one for this job. He patiently explains things well and this helps me understand my house and the work he is doing. He reliably called before arriving. When running a little late, he called. I thought he was skilled, professional and cared about the quality of his work. He also does the least amount of "damage" to home as possible when it was necessary to knock out a wall. Also cleans up very well. What more can I say...he's a wonderful plumber in my opinion.

They were able to move their schedule around to come out as soon as they could. They were extremely prompt and professional. The tried to use the outside drain and then used the inside. They informed me of potential future issues but did not try to push to have the extra work done now. I was very happy with the entire experience and would definitely use them again and recommend them.

Like most of us over the years you just dread to call trades people regardless of what trade plumber, electricans etc. Most of the time the work is poor, customer service is poor, price is too expensive. In all my years using service I have to say Matt was a huge surprise from begining to end. Is is by far the best service guy I have EVER used. And even more surprising he's a young guy. From the initial call to Matt, he was VERY pleasant and professional. In fact Matt even suggested to save more money i might buy my own toilet on the internet (which i did). When the new toilet came, I call Matt and we set a date. Matt was very responsive in returning calls. In fact most of the time he answered the initial call. Prior to the date, Matt called me, he had a cancellation and offered to do the work early if I wanted. Which I did. Matt came over, he was VERY polite and VERY professional. Did a great job on all the work. This young man is awesome great personality, honest and knows what he's doing. I would not hesitate to use him again and feel very comformatable if i were out of town that my wife could depend on him if we need plumbing service. Yes, I'm a BIG fan of Matt and NO i'm not a relative just a very surprised and happy, satisfied customer

This is an excellent company to work with! Price was very reasonable, and work was done well. I met Matt through Angies List. I called, and he was very polite and sounded like a real down to earth person. I had not moved into the house yet, and was not able to be at the house when he came to look at the job, so I gave him the garage code and talked to him on the phone as he walked through the house. I was not able to be there the day he came to do the work either, but Matt didn't mind, and niether did I. For whatever reason I really trusted Matt. He did the work perfectly, cleaned up perfectly, and left a bill on the mantel. I am having Matt come again to do more work. When I called him about the next job, he expressed sincere appreciation for the opportunity to do the work. Matt is a seriously good guy, and a good plumber too.

Excellent. A pipe burst in my wall last week and water was dripping from the 2nd floor to basement for 3 days. I called Matt very early Monday morning and explained my dilema and he moved his schedule around to do repair work the same morning. He was extremely professional. I still have the broken pipe to be fixed along with a few other jobs (replacing more valves and fixtures...this old house), but I can live in my house with some water access to get me through until I can schedule future work. I will hire Matt for all of the future work.

I called Matt today, Memorial Day, and he was enthusiastic, as usual, to come fix our problem. He was well informed about the issue with our particular water tank and advised me on how to get the hard to get part right. Matt advised us on the best way to handle our issue and was concerned about how to save us money and get longevity out of or existing tank. He wanted to come over immediately and fix our problem, even though I only wanted to set up a day to have him come to help us. Matt was there within an hour of our conversation and had it fixed in no time. I cannot say enough great things about Matt, honest, hard working, great prices, and a rare find, what a gem. We will never go anywhere else.

We can't say enough good things about Matt. He returned our voicemail within the hour, came out the same day AND was EARLY for the appointment. WOW. He fixed a clogged drain issue that we've lived with, off and on, for 2 years now AND spent over $1300 to another large and well-known plumbing company. Matt explained why we were having the issue, fixed it in 45 minutes and charged a very reasonable fee compared to what we've been spending. Also, he fixed it 'the right way' so it won't keep happening. To quote his words "I like to fix it so I don't have to come back". Instead of snaking it with a typical thin wired snake he used a very large diameter snake that we thought wouldn't even fit in the drain. We also consulted with him on fixing some old toilets we have that are of the commercial variety. We've talked to several plumbers about replacing them but he's the first one that seemed very familiar with them. All said..... I feel 100% confident you will not be dissapointed if you hire Matt. He's hard working and a true professional.

Matt was timely in making the appointment for the estimate, we agreed upon a date to do the work, the work was done professionally, within the estimate and to my satisfaction. I would call him again and recommend him to others.

Over two visits Matt was terrific. We called him in desperation when our basement drain backed up. He came promptly. The "easy" way to fix the problem was broken, so Matt worked through a solution that opened the drain using another access point. He and his assistant even cleaned up some of the mess afterward. He came back two weeks later to fix some broken fixtures. Again, he showed up right on time, worked quickly, and did a beautiful job. Overall Matt has been professional, knowledgeable, incredibly polite, very neat--I wish I'd found him sooner, and that every contractor worked to as high standards.

The day before Matt arrived he asked me to send a picture of the leaky pipe to his cell phone. I appreciated the fact that he wanted to be prepared. Matt arrived in the morning on time. I explained to Matt that there was water leaking from the drain pipe that runs from 2nd floor bathroom behind the kitchen sink/dishwasher into the basement. Matt looked at the pipe and asked me to run the water and flush the toilet. The pipe leaked a great deal. He then removed the dishwasher to gain access to the wall above where the pipe extends into the basement. Next, he cut out part of the wall and found the leak. Matt explained how he was going to go about repairing the leak. Despite the fact that Matt had to run out and get some parts, he made quick work of the job. Less than 3 hours for a major repair. I was impressed by his professional attitude and work ethic.

I was woken by my wife early and told the hot water heater was making a constant noise and was leaking water out the bottom in a constant stream. I turned off the water and the gas to the tank and started exploring how to handle it. Angies list helped tremendously in deciding to call Matt Mertz Plumbing. When I called, Matt was on the way to another job, but one that wasn't an emergency. I told him my problem, and in about an hour, he was there with a new hot water heater. He pointed out that my expansion tank was rusting at the fitting connection. I went out to buy another one after I hd called around to find who had one. By the time I got back, Matt had the hot water tank replaced and was waiting for me. He installed the new expansion tank quickly, and was finished. The whole episode, from being woken to Matt finishing, took about 5 hours, of which Matt's part was about 2 1/2 hours. He was quick, professional, reasonably priced (better than the big box stores I called), and did exactly what he said he would. I would recommend him to anyone who asked.

Called Matt Saturday around 6:55pm left a voice mail. Never expected him to call me back - 3 minutes later my phone rang. Talked through the fact that I need a drain cleared can he meet me 1st thing Sunday Morning - He could and did. On time and ready to start Matt looked over the plumbing and began the clean out process. Quickly he had the waste line flowing again and offered a camera service for $50 to see what was going on. After looking in the camera we could tell the line had a slight crack that falls within a garage. He has a locator service to see within 3 ft where the crack is. Explained what is needed to fix it and I will schedule him back out to resolve the cracked line here in the near future. Sundays are expensive but if you need something Matt answers the phone which not everyone does - reliability and strong work ethic are two words I would use to describe how he runs his business.

Matt Mertz was good. He was reasonably priced and nice. He included his license number that I really liked.
