He showed up exactly when he said, charged exactly what he quoted, and he and his assistant even carried the old stove out to the porch and out of our way. Highly recommended.

Due to some sort of plumbing convention, we were unable to get service the evening our water heater quit. Matt Mertz's was able to come the next morning and were there promptly. They had a new 50 gallon tank installed in less than one hour.

No problems at all, Matt even arrived earlier than scheduled.

Matt called us right away and came out and gave us an estimate range. We scheduled the work to be done after a vacation based on the camera findings. Matt was on site for the excavation and was right about what he thought was the problem. They did what we wanted as far as getting the backhoe around the garden. They were careful to avoid hitting an electric line in the ground. Clean up was done properly.

They returned a phone call on a Sunday and were able to help me avoid a Sunday emergency call fee. They came on Monday (with a wonderful courtesy call 30 minutes before) afternoon and handled the main issue that arisen over the weekend and several other small things.

Matt was fantastic. I got his name from Angie's list and called him late Thursday afternoon. He came to my house early Friday afternoon and quickly identified the problem. He explain that the leak in my main water line coming into the house was was a large project and need to be addressed in the next several days. He explained that he needed to dig up my front yard so he could feed a new pipe from the laundry room under the house to connect to the water supply. He was able to move another project that he was working on to fix my issues on Monday. He and his two workers showed up on time, explained everything step by step that was happening, and left the work area clean. I was very impressed with Matt's professionalism and honesty. I will most definitely be calling him the next time I have a plumbing issue.

I recently bought a house, and like everything else in life, no sooner had I signed on the dotted line than the stuff started breaking down! This time, it was the water heater, which started to leak, and intermittently fail. The house came with a home warranty, but when I followed that route, I saw they were going to send (at best) mediocre plumbers who would most likely install inferior equipment, and charge me $500 (including B.S. "haul-away" fees). I decided I would rather hire someone honest and hard-working, who would install high-quality equipment. I found Matt via Angie's List. He was as advertised, very punctual and professional throughout the process. He installed a great water heater, which was complicated by the fact that it was larger than usual (75 gallons) and was a high-efficiency vent heater that the manufacturer had changed the design of in the last 8 years. His price for the job was exactly as quoted -- nothing wonderful, but absolutely fair, and worth the price. I will be calling on him later on for a few other jobs I have, after I get settled in this house.

He swooped in and accomplished everything efficiently and professionally. Put a new flapper on that leaky toilet. Loosened the stuck valve to turn off my outside faucets. Cleared the slow-running tub drain. Extended the hose to my laundry tub so it doesn't splash and get water all over when the washer drains. He's a hard worker and a conscientious service provider, so I imagine that he has a very successful plumbing business. Good for him - he deserves his success.

They were very responsive, even shwed up on Sunday to finish the project.

Needed a corner unit shower in the basement replaced. Matt was very professional and courteous. He actually stumbled onto a problem that was due to incorrect plumbing from the previous homeowner and has been extremely helpful in helping me to get the problem resolved.

Had a national comapny in 3 times to try and fix the problem, they stated that the flange was placed wrong and that the wax ring was not the proper size. Commode would move when used. After the natioanl company's first repair, it began to leak, they came back and did it again, after 2nd time it leaked also. they returned a 3rd time and said the flange had been placed wrong when it was originally set and that they would have to cut the floor from below and reset it to get it to work. Called Matt Mertz and explained the problem, he came out 2 days later as scheduled. Was very conscientious about shoes, dirt, floor etc when looking at the commode. After checking, he said it needed a 1 1/2 wax ring instead of the 2 that was used, he also said flange and bolts were fine, he was able to reset the commode and tighten bolts. National company had tried to use washers to level commode. It has been fine since with no recurrence. Had him do a 2nd one while he was there, similar problem.

I was able to schedule the (non-emergency) work within a week of calling Matt. He called ahead to tell me he was on his way, arrived on time, did the work quickly, explained what he did and left the work area in good shape. A few hours after he left I found that I would get hot water for a few seconds then it would turn luke warm. I called him back, he was at my house within an hour of my phone call. He found the problem and quickly fixed it with no extra charge. It was not the water heater, btw, but an odd water supply line issue. He actually solved a problem that I have had since I moved in this house 17 years ago. We now have plenty of hot water for our showers for the first time since we moved in. I am really pleased with Matt and will call him again.

He showed up early after calling in advance to make sure he could. He kept his workspace clean while he was working and made sure there wasn't anything else needed to be done before leaving. I would use his services again.

Matt was very responsive, he was dilligent in figuring out the problem, and he and his team were punctual. During and after the job they were very careful not to make a mess, and they cleaned up afterward. He'll be my go-to guy for plumbing from now on.

I couldn't be home to observe the work being done, but they came on Saturday morning around 8:30 and were finished by around 2. They did an excellent job and roughed everything in for me. All the lines ran neatly across the basement ceiling under the rooms, they cleaned up after them selves and everything we taped and secured so that it would be ready to go when we were ready. I even added and addition to the estimate at the last minute. He said it might cost an extra $100, but didn't charge me for it when the job was done. They didn't unhook my old gas line when the ran the new one, a miss-communication, but they came out the next day and took care of it in 5 minutes. I was very happy with the work and the price can not be beat.

We spent $300 on that work. He did an excellent job and was very clean. I called him at 7 in the morning and he was here at 10 and I was very pleased with that. He did a very professional job. I found everything you need in a plumber. He even needed something that he did not bring along and went and got it and did not charge me for it. I was very happy with him.

We noticed the ceiling problem on the Sunday before Labor Day, he responded within minutes of our message. He was willing to come out same day if the leak was an emergency, but we determined that it only was happening when using the shower. He came out the next day on the holiday, arrived exactly when promised and worked quickly. He answered numerous questions about our various plumbing problems, and was very neat and professional. We would definitely recommend Matt and will surely be using him in the future.

Matt was very responsive when I called and explained to him that we had water leaking into our kitchen area from our bathroom upstairs. He was able to get to our house within several hours and fixed the leak quickly. We had called another company first and were told that it would take five days to get a repairman out to the house. If we had waited that long, our kitchen ceiling would have been absolutely ruined and we would have had a significant amount of water splashing down into our kitchen. The service that Matt provided was quick, professional and reasonably priced. A+ service.

I was very happy everything from start to finish. He returned my calls promptly and I especially liked that I was able to get in touch with him after work. He scheduled the work within a few days from my first call and did an excellent job. I have his magnet on my fridge and will call in the future whenever I need a plumber.

The water tank issue occurred suddenly, right before I was scheduled to be out of town. I could not leave it unattended until I got back, so it was rather urgent to have the problem addressed without any glitches. In addition, there were two unrelated and minor plumbing issues I'd asked Matt to look at while he was here. Matt and his assistant Lisa were excellent. They arrived exactly as scheduled and completed all three jobs perfectly. They were both very cordial and professional. I would recommend them highly for any plumbing issues.
