I think he was very punctual and professional. He included all his work on our estimate and he did not go over that by very much. In terms of punctuality, he can even be more punctual.

Mertz is a very easy company to work with; their employees have a very good attitude and are very competent. The project went well, all fixtures and drains were installed with no problems. All work areas were left clean. All new fixtures and drains worked without any problems. The work was finished on time, on schedule and within budget.

I came down to the laundry room and stepped in a puddle of water. I'm like what? Saw the water heater was leaking alot from the bottom of the tank. I thought what am I going to do on Friday at 4:30 pm. Remembered I just joined Angies List a month ago,time to try it out. Called and talked to Lisa who was great. She was very polite and I explained my situation and told her I saw her replacement water heater coupon on Angies List. Lisa asked when I would like it done. I'm thinking to my self, go for it. I told her today would be great. She said let me call you back. In 5 minutes she called back and said the guys would pick up the water heated and be at my house in an hour. I was really thinging to myself, yea right. In an hour the 2 guys showed up. I showed them the mess and off to work they went. Took them 1 1/2 hours to do the job. They did a great job,took everything away and cleaned up. I also needed the overflow tank. $90 extra but that was all they added on. I'm like really, fast and a good price. Found me a winner here! And remember this is Friday evening. This is a company I would use again and again.

The shower faucet in the bathroom really leaks. It needs completely replaced but until I can get the bathroom remodeled, I turn the water off at the shut off valves. One day, there were a few droplets of water dripping from the living room ceiling (right above the bathroom). It seemed to only drip when the water was turned on for the shower. I called Matt Mertz Plumbing hoping they could fix the leak. I was really impressed that they offered to send someone that same day. I made an appointment for the next day so I could be at home. Hunter called to let me know that he was nearby and showed up around the agreed time. He found the problem (water was leaking from the shut off valves), replaced the valves, and made sure nothing leaked from the valves or the tub. I also asked if he could snake the tub drain. I appreciated that he put on shoe coverings while in the house so as not to track dirt. It took about 2 hours for the job but I was very pleased with the work, especially since the shut off valves are in a small, awkward area. It was also nice to save some money by using the coupon they posted on Angie's List! I'll be calling them again for sure.

I couldn't be more pleased about the work that was performed by Matt and team. Initially, Matt gave me an estimate for fixing the leak as long as it was in the yard and not underneath the driveway. But he and his team soon realized that they had to tear up the driveway ... That was on a Friday. He said he would be back on Monday to cut open the pipe, insert a snake camera to see where the leak was, tear up a piece of the driveway and fix it. It was freezing rain on Monday but they came right on time and stayed the whole day to fix the issue ... Wow! And the best part was that the total invoice wasn't that much higher than the original estimate ... even with all the extra work!! My wife and I were very impressed with the teams professionalism, customer service, punctuality and most of all, empathy. I would highly recommend their service ... I cannot begin to tell you how well pleased I am with Matt Mertz Plumbing. As you can see we had some pretty extensive plumbing issues. Matt and his entire crew were very professional & polite. They kept us informed step by step and showed us all the things they found to be either broken or installed improperly by the former owners. Fortunately, we had an established relationship with Matt Mertz plumbing. We have used them 3 times prior to this and were always well satisfied. I will not hesitate to use them again. Called Mertz on Monday. Answered on 2nd ring and young lady was very pleasant and professional. Said that we should see someone by 2pm. Well at 11am the "Mertz' man was at our door ready to help. He was very systematic in diagnosing the location of our stoppage. Went from outside trap to street 1st then finding no clog moved inside where he found the blockage. He then ran a thorough test only to find that line was still blocked. Proceeded to clear 2nd clog and then test again. This time it appeared that problem was fixed. Told me charge would be $140 but when I presented Angie's list coupon he immediately reduced bill to $90. Could not have been more pleased with overall experience. Will definitely have Mr. Mertz's folks back for all future plumbing needs.

The overall experience with Matt Mertz Plumbing was excellent. I called at 2pm. By 4:30, the crew had arrived to replace my broken water heater. They were very professional and extremely efficient. The price was exactly what they had quoted over the phone and the crew (Jim and Jake) recommended a couple other things that needed done (add expansion tank and new valve). Less than an hour later they were done.

Upstairs toilet was draining slowly. When I called for an appointment, the assistant was extremely courteous. The service technician arrived on time, and immediately put on shoe covers before walking upstairs. He was extremely efficient and quick, and he even replaced a part in the tank to prevent future problems. I would definitely use Mertz again, and I recommend them without reservation.

Matt came out and camera snaked the main line in our basement after the sewer backed up. He was extremely courteous and considerate (i.e. took care not to walk on carpeting without putting down protective covering). His kindness and professionalism is very important given that my elderly Mom was handling this for me while I was out of town. Matt's initial recommendation was that we had some old pipe in the garage and driveway that needed replaced. He took the time to explain to Mom and show her the camera view and also spent time with me on the phone to answer questions. We agreed on a start date and Matt was there as promised, on time and with his crew. He then discovered the larger issue which meant breaking through the finished flooring in the gameroom and into the laundry room. He called to inform me of this and was kind enough to come out that nite to explain and show me the camera view of what he had discovered. We decided to move forward and Matt and crew were there, without fail, every day until the job was complete as promised. Matt also took the time to provide a personal progress call each evening. He is very patient and took my calls whenever I had a question. He and his crew were very conscious of keeping the gameroom blocked off with plastic to keep the dust storm to a minimum. He made sure he was available to be here when the insurance adjustor came out and accommodated his requests for a cost breakdown. We are very pleased with his work and highly recommend him and his crew.

They arrived early, completed the job in less than an hour and cleaned everything up. The two workers that were at my house were professional and did an excellent job.

This was the second time we hired Mertz though he did not do the plumbing. We were more the pleased both times. He was competent and hard working. We definitely would recommend the company.

Matt Mertz was very good, when I called him he gave me a window of time where he would come out within parameters. He came out and they did the work and I was pleased. What really stood out about Matt and his work was he knocked on the front door and I went to the front door and he introduced his self. He said, "Do you mind if I come in through the garage so I won't mess your floor," it was January in Pennsylvania. I said, "No problem." He came in, he looked at the problem, we talked about it and he said, "I can take care of that with no problem." He was in and out in less than a half an hour to maybe forty minutes. The hourly rate for a plumber is nothing to sneeze at so I think I paid a good price to Matt. They came within the entire time frame and they didn't keep me waiting all day. I thought the professionalism of the worker was good as well. I would use him again in the future.

It was an emergency situation. I spoke directly with Matt, and he was able to accomodate and have the work done the very next day. They installed a new hot water tank and vented the new tank to the outside exterior wall. Jim was the person who came to my house and did the actual installation. He was extremely professional and did an outstanding job. I will be using Matt Mertz Plumbing again, and again! A++++++++

Matt Mertz Plumbing are efficient. Their prices are pretty good and the do good work. They seem to know what they are doing and they are prompt at coming as quickly as they can.

Developed a clog deep in a main-line that was backing up half of my house. I knew what line it was in, and about where it was, but I couldn't get to it with my own snake. Called Matt-Mertz at 7am and got same-day service. They gave me a two-four timeframe, and the workers arrived around three. Mike and Tony(?) were very nice and professional. They installed a clean-out which will allow me to more easily fix it myself if it happens again, snaked the drain, and cleaned up after themselves in about 30 minutes. The price was on par with what I would expect to pay for similar service just about anywhere. I will use them again if I have any other plumbing needs.

Woke up this morning to a hot water faucet that produced "FRIGID" water...colder than the cold water tap. Went to the utility room to check the water heater to find a wet floor with rusty water and I knew I had problems. Called Matt Mertz Plumbing at 8:30 AM and Lisa answered immediately. I explained my predicament and she said she would call me right back once she checked for a scheduled time. I received a return call within 5 minutes and was given a time between 10 A.M. and noon. Around 11:20 AM I received a call from Mike, confirming my address and to let me know they were on their way. Mike arrived with another plumber and immediately went to work. They were professional, very quiet, and never stopped until they were finished. My water heater is located in my utility room and it is a somewhat close space. There was never a grumble, just courteous behavior and professional work. I have used Matt Mertz before for a collapsed sewer line and I referred him to my daughter for a water heater less than a year ago. I have complete trust in this company and would not use anyone else. When you have a good thing, you stick with it. I have a few other minor plumbing jobs and will be calling Matt Mertz Plumbing again when the weather improves. From my initial call answered by Lisa, to the installation of my new water heater by Mike and his partner, my experience was A+. I would highly recommend MATT MERTZ PLUMBING.

Matt was great to work with. We were out of town while the work was being scheduled and Matt was always accessible regardless of the time. We were under a tight timeline but he fit us into his schedule and performed the work within 2 days of receiving our call. He was very patient with what turned out to be a pretty difficult situation, but he always had our best interests in mind as well as the sellers. He wanted to make sure both parties knew thatt this was a serious problem that needed ot be cleared up. We just recently scheduled him to come back to the same property to finish work another plumber had started. We would highly recommend Matt.

We thought the they were going to take out the whole wall but they didn't. We were very pleased with the price, with how long they took and with the way their people worked. They were very nice. They put booties on their shoes and were very neat. It was a really good job. We got a $50 gift card because we are on Angie's List. He said it might take two days but they had it done in one day. When they said they were coming, they came right on the dot. He came when he gave us the estimate. He also told us that if you go with someone else, since we were taking bids, just make sure they put the drain in and they drain because, when they do the whole system, the drain might go back and then they would have to do it over again. I would recommend them.

Their prices were very competitive. They did what they said they would do in the timeframe they said they would and it turned out good.

While working in my basement office late Saturday evening, my son knocked on my door to inform me that the carpets around a drain were wet. When I went to investigate, I discovered the drain in the floor was backed up. After attempting to clear the drain myself with a commercial grade augur, I discovered that the problem was more severe and needed a professional. My first thought was to run to the phone book, and I placed a call to one of those national plumbing chains that offered 24/7 emergency service. I was greeted nicely, but could not get a commitment of service time nor even an estimate of cost. I made an appointment and waited. After waiting for a while, I realized where I should have gone first was to Angie's List. When I did, I found a local plumbing company (Matt Mertz) that offered 24/7 emergency service. I called their emergency service number, and was greeted warmly by Matt. He asked thorough questions about my problem, and then made sure I understood the costs involved before we agreed to the work. Once we agreed, he said he would arrive within an hour. RIght on time, Matt and his associate arrived within an hour. They quickly assessed the situation and started to work. He removed the clean out access point to the house, and it became clear that the sewer line was clogged outside of the house. He first tried an easier to use 70' augur, but was unable to reach the clog. He then brought in a longer augur from his truck, and was quickly able to reach the clog at approximately 100' from the house. After making sure that the line was indeed open, Matt then used a video scope to inspect the line, and discovered the root (pun intended) of the problem. Roots had permeated the sewer line, and were significantly clogging up the pipe. Matt showed me the video as he went so that I could clearly see the problem. While he had succeeded in temporarily opening up the sewer line, he made it clear that a more permanent solution would be required in the near future. He discussed the options, including a new process that will allow the pipe to be cleaned and lined without having to dig up the yard. He also discussed approximately what that costs involved would be. We agreed to follow up next week when it wasn't late on a Saturday night. Matt and his associate quickly cleaned up well, and then we settled the bill, which was exactly what was told to me on our initial phone call. Matt left, and we had sewers that were working again (and a family that was relieved) within one hour of his arrival. A true professional and a really nice guy, I look forward to working with Matt soon.

Matt Mertz has to be the finest plumber in all of the midwest. He runs a tight ship, was incredibly courteous, and went so far above and beyond the call of duty that we feel compelled to sing his praises here. During the course of a sewer pipe repair, something went catastropically wrong and Matt had to adjust his plans in a major way. What was intended as a two-day job became a 10-day marathon. Matt not only honored his contract, not only took full responsibility for everything, but he also went above and beyond in every single way, bringing good humor and humility to the job every day, being undaunted as he trucked in all of his machinery and personnel, cancelling his vacation abroad for himself and his wife, and personally overseeing the entire event, keeping us apprised of the situation, helping us make the necessary adjustments, even helping to make the intrusion easy on our neighbors in every way he could. In short, there's no way to overstate how much we appreciate Matt Mertz's work ethic, his honor code, his absolute professionalism. The ultimate lesson: you don't hire the best person for the event when everything goes right; you hire the best for when things go wrong. There's not a single question in our minds that Matt Mertz has to be the best at his work. We can't imagine a better experience. And we don't imagine we'll ever encounter another, because we're never going to do so much as fix a garden hose or bathtub drain without his help. Long live Matt Mertz!

We scheduled a service call to have several our leaky valves replaced in our toilets and also had the plumber tighten a loose faucet. Phil was our plumber and he was very nice, courteous and certainly knew his business. He was on time and cleaned up in all areas. From making the appointment to having the work done...on time and professionally...this was a pleasure ...we highly recommend this company.
