Matt Mertz Plumbing Trenchless Sewer Repair Expert

When I contacted the business to ask for service the person I spoke to wrote all my information down wrong,(name, address and phone). After not hearing from her when she said she'd call I called back and she said she called a number, which wasn't mine and left a message. Long story short all got corrected and Phil & Harry arrived the next day. Phil did a great job detecting the leak and got busy replacing all the parts. They worked quickly and cleaned up. Cutting drywall makes a mess and both guys did a great job keeping dust to a minimum. I appreciated getting the leak corrected in a timely manor and would use Matt Mertz Plumbing again.

My kitchen sink was stopped up. I called several companies on Angie's list and had the best response from Matt Mertz Plumbing! They said someone could come over that day and gave me a 2-hour time frame. The plumber actually called before that time and asked if it was OK if he came over -- yes, he was early! He was professional, fixed the problem and didn't make or leave a mess. I had them install an outdoor hose connection in the backyard and again was very pleased with the work and the price. I'll definitely use them again for any plumbing needs.

Jim was very knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. He worked quickly and kept me informed along the way. The overall cost (notably very reasonable) was established upfront and there were no surprise charges when it came time to pay. I also felt well informed as to how my new unit worked and any future maintenance issues I should expect. Believe me, I have no plumbing knowledge and appreciated Jim's willingness to take the time to answer my questions. Jim took great care to clean up after he finished his work. I think my basement ended up looking neater and cleaner than when he started. I have not encountered other members of the Matt Mertz team; however, my experiences with Jim speak to the general quality and values of the organization. I highly recommend Matt Mertz Plumbing.

They came back a second time after it was still leaking but did not charge for the second visit. They were very nice. They were prompt and very humble once they realized they made a mistake. They made it right. I thought they were really good. I will probably be using him again in the future.

He was out two particular times. The work was done quickly, it required a scheduled visit, which was done promptly, and he came out and did the work quickly. The work was done professionaly, and we haven't had any problems with the work done. The plumber who came out was professional.

The representative from Matt Mertz plumbing punctual, accommodating our short notice need to schedule the work due to our house closing date. He performed a full camera inspection of the drainage system, explained the situation, and unclogged the drain line as required by the home inspection. There were no additional charges or surprises.

The difficulty with writing a review of a service company is coming up with the obviously subjective criteria that informs others of your experience while at the same time being fair to the company. With that in mind, I have decided that a grade of F would be appropriate if the company totally failed to address the problem for which you contacted them or failed to provide the service which they were allegedly qualified to perform. With that as the my thesis, I must, despite the many positive reviews on Angie?s list and on the company?s self-aggrandizing website, give Matt Mertz Plumbing Inc. a grade of F. I phoned Mertz Plumbing on the morning of Monday, August 12, 2013. After about 8 rings, a nice lady, whose name escapes me, answered the phone. I described to her my diagnosis of the problem, a possible cracked pipe in the freeze-proof outdoor faucet at my residence. She seemed a bit befuddled and told me that someone named ?Lisa? had stepped out, but would call me back shortly. Lisa did return my call. I explained the problem and informed Lisa that while I would like the pipe repaired, if this would entail tearing out an interior wall to get to the pipe, I would prefer to just have the water pipe capped off since I did not feel the expense of repairing a wall was worth it. I asked if someone would be willing to come and evaluate the situation and give me an estimate of the extent and cost of the needed repairs. Lisa informed me that I would need to speak to Mr. Mertz himself about the problem. She said Mr. Mertz was out on the job, but would call me after 6:00 p.m. that day, as that was the time he normally returned calls. Well, here it is 4 days later and I still haven?t heard from Mertz Plumbing. I do realize that no company is under any obligation to provide me a service, if they choose not to. But I believe the simple courtesy of a phone call informing me they were not interested in doing business with me is not asking too much. To coin a cliché, thanks for nothing, Mertz Plumbing. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Very punctual and even called to give me a 10 minute head's up. Hunter was extremely respectful and professional. He checked downspouts to ensure we had properly identified the problem prior to starting the work. Afterward, he checked the front downspouts for me to make sure they were clear. Work was fast, no cleanup necessary, and all went smoothly. Satisfied with the communication and the work. Will contact them with future plumbing issues/needs.

I made an appointment to have our water tank checked to see if it needed to be replaced. We were having problems with occasional rusty water and the pressure relief valve was working. The service guy, Tom, arrived promptly at the scheduled time and we discussed the options. I asked him to check the water pressure since it seemed like it might be too high. The pressure was fine and we proceeded to discuss the water tank. We determined it was over 20 years old so decided a replacement made the most sense. He already had a replacement tank with him in the event a replacement was needed. We discussed adding an expansion tank as a failsafe for future issues but I opted at the time to not install it. Tom started the replacement quickly. He did have to run out to get a part to reattach the vent pipe since it came apart when he was removing the old tank. This was a safety issue so he ensured it was reconnected properly and also secured the other connecting joints. Tom was quick and efficient and was completed with the work within about an hour. He took the old tank out and made sure everything was cleaned up when he was done. About 45 minutes after he left, I noticed there was some water on the floor, seemingly from under the new tank. Since I was his last appointment for the day, it was now approaching 6pm on a Friday. I called the main number and they contacted Tom, who called me back within a few minutes. He was back at my house in about 15 minutes and after some checking, determined the water was actually coming from a pinhole-sized leak in the pipe immediately above the new tank (our lucky day, I guess!). He had a helper with him this time and quickly resolved the issue. We also decided to have him install the expansion tank at that time after some more discussion. We also talked about some other areas that concerned us and he gave some advice on what would need to be done in the future to resolve the problem. Tom was very polite and professional and we appreciated the quick return trip to resolve the leaky pipe. I was concerned that we'd have to pay an additional emergency service fee to have it resolved but the extra charge to fix it was minor. We will definitely use Matt Mertz plumbing again in the future for additional work.

The service was very good, there were no problems.

Our problem, was blockage from roots invading our 50 year old terra cotta sewer drain pipe. As the path of this pipe went through my extensively landscaped front yard, I was loath to have the traditional trench dug for pipe replacement.Matt Mertz Plumbing has a technique to put a pipe liner into the pipe, that requires no trench.The downside, is a pit must be dug to make the connecion to the old sevice. The pit in my case was inside my basement. Matt Mertz Plumbing did an outstanding job. First they put up plastic sheeting & pads on the floor, that contained the dust & dirt. The Mertz crew were hard working, polite and neat and they actually finished sooner than promised. When they were finished, they left no mess behind. The Mertz pipe liner process is a permanant solution for failing sewer system that has save me time, money and the prospect of relandscaping my yard.

The person that came out was prompt and professional. I already had the toilets from the two bathrooms off so all he had to do was snake it. I didn't have him replace the toilets as I wanted to do different seals. My only disappointment was their couple for discount isn't good for emergency calls. It is only good for pre-scheduled appointments.

Came with in an hour of my call and fixed the problem immediately. I couldn't be happier.

Took two visits, and all is completed as promised

The diveter was an off brand installed by another contractor. Located parts to repair it. Saved tearing the shower wall out to replace the complete diverter.

The plumber that did the work was Matt. He was very professional and a nice young man to speak with. He used drop clothes to protect the flooring and cleaned up afterward.

I called and described my issue. They provided me an estimated quote for the likely issue. The technician came to my house during the prescribed service window and fixed the issue. The technician was knowledgeable and courteous. The fix was made and has proven to resolve the issue.
