Description of Work: Had leak in basement wall.Called Thompsons Waterproofing,and Brett camed to house on date and time we set up. He ckecked problem area and explained what could be done. I agreed to terms,and the crew was here on the date and time set up.Crew did a good job,and cleaded up the work area. I would call this company again

Description of Work: Thompsons came in and put in a drain tile system in my basement. They did a great job. The crew was on time and worked hard. I am pleased with the workmanship and would use them again

Description of Work: I asked Thompson's for an estimate to water seal my basement. Their Senior Project manager came out, measured the area I was concerned with and took pictures. He then showed me a presentation on his computer showing the scope of work they would do and answered all of my questions. In the process he gave me an education on the difference between water management and water proofing. He was most informative. As I had other contrators coming, I told him I'd get back with. A day later I received a phone call from their home office (?) and was informed the "Senior Engineer" (or something) looked at the first guy's drawing and wanted to come back out to my house, offer options and possibly offer me a lower price. My issue; the first guy out had over 20 years experience doing this type of work and if he couldn't give me the best deal and options when he was on site, I do not want anyone else offering different solutions. I believe the Senior Project manager was truthful and honest in his appraisal and the second call was nothing more than an attempt to get back in my house and provide incentive (low sale pressure) to get the job. I would have prefered if I received the very best price on the first go round.

Description of Work: My original review was not good so they contacted me and were very responsive to the problem and it should be fully resolved on the 19th.

Description of Work: Had problem with hydraulic pressure of water pressing upward into interior of rooms on basement level. Had attempted drain tile work on exterior on own (not Thompson) to no avail. Thompson specialist explained that the problem could only be remedied by interior drainage system being installed around the interior perimeter of the rooms. The specialist was very good in explaining exactly what he proposed being done and the manner it would be done. He even had a video that went into detail in visually describing what he had explained. He professionally addressed all questions. On each occasion we scheduled a visit with him and/or his crew they timely arrived. The completed the work timely and left the site in a very clean condition.

Description of Work: We had our basement waterproffed over 30 years ago from a company that is now out of business.Our front basement wall started to leak at the floor and wall level. We hired Thompson's Waterproffingto re do the front wall . They did a professional job. They were on time, finished in one day, they were neat and respectfullin their job. I would definatley recommend them to my friends and family. My job was done about three months ago and we have had some pretty heavy rainfall with NO LEAKS!Very pleased customer,B.Keen

Description of Work: First of all, Thompson's basement inspector that came out was very informative, professional and knowledgeable. After thoroughly walking around our basement, he took time to explain the causes and the solution to our problems. They also gave us an amazing deal because we were able to work with them. The cost was by far better then all the others companies we spoke with. The installation crew showed up promply on our start date and the foreman went over any additional details prior to starting. The crew was respectful and worked very hard throughout our entire job. The finished project looked very professional and has worked flawlessly since. There was a bit of dust, but it is construction though, so we expected that. The crew did sweep up and cover the items in our basement. All in all, this was a great experience.

Description of Work: Karl came out promptly as was expected, at 5:45 PM. He repeatedly told me that he was new with the company, and it showed. We examined my basement situation, and I gave him my knowledge of the symptoms of the problem. He surveyed and measured for about ten minutes, then we sat down to look at paperwork, a demonstration video, and his conclusions. While I was trying to watch the video on his laptop he conducted his own simultaneous demonstration of some of the company's information, so I finally had to tell him I could not watch both at the same time. He bumbled through his notebook of visuals which he said at one point that he had put together, then later told me the company had given to him. His layout sketch of my basement was grotesque and very hard to compare to my physical home. He said more than once that he would be giving me the best price of any company I would hear from, although he did not. He asked more than once what other companies I had received quotations from, but I saw no reason to give him that information. Carl did quote a price to me at the end of the session, and indicated that with flexibility on my part for the scheduling, I might receive a better price, but that better price was not made clear. Here's the kicker: Carl did not leave me a written proposal, a business card, or anything else. He did ask for either a phone number or an email to get me further information, which I gave him. He indicated that he'll be at a sales meeting tomorrow morning, where my job proposal will be made firm, or something like that. I have used Angie's List to guide and educate me concerning service providers for my basement waterproofing needs, which is why Thompson's was called upon for this proposal. At this point I'm not impressed, but there should be more information given to me, soon... *** Update as of Nov. 22: Sales Rep Karl has emailed me twice now, asking me to commit to the job. I still have no proposal, nothing in writing or any version of a printed form, not even a business card. He did draw a diagram while in my home, but still has provided me nothing to bank on, or to compare with any other contractor. My limited enthusiasm for Thompson's is fading.

Description of Work: Installed a French drain in basement. Services rendered as promised. Professional, hard working, work are kept clean. Took away all the debris. No more moisture in the basemen even after a huge snow storm which knocked out our sump pump for 3 days due to ho power.

Description of Work: Used them for basement waterpoofing. The estimate was very reasonable and I liked them because they tried to do what was minimally required as opposed to a few others that gave way too elaborate plans. I liked the fact that they told me to do what was needed for now and then if I needed, they could do an add-on - they didn't want to push too much of their services when I didn't need it. The other contractor I consulted wanted to take out my existing sump pump and do a very high end solution for $10,000. I got about 75% of the functionality done through Thompsons for $3700. Were prompt and professional and did a good job. Will use them again.

Description of Work: Received a quote from them for water system and foundation repair involving application of carbon fiber strips to stop a shift in the block. We are not sure about the integrity of the company and gave a copy of an engineering report to the rep who was supposed to get back to us but as yet has not. Not really sure if we'd go with them or not.
