Philadelphia Gas & Electric Heating & Air Cond

My heater broke on a Tuesday night. I called in the morning on Wednesday and I had someone out by the early afternoon. The guy who came got right to work, diagnosed the problem, and ordered the part for next day delivery. He gave me a temporary fix so the heat would run enough to keep my apt and dog from getting really cold which was a really nice. He gave me a follow up call that evening to check in and told me he would call the next day when the part came in. The part came in the very next day and another guy came and put it in. Really good service and I'm very happy with it. This is the second time I've used this company and the results are consistently good. Will use in the future for all my HVAC needs!!

When I would cut my heater on, water would leak all over in the basement. I call this company to come and check it out. At first he said the water pressure was to high, so he fixed it. When he left the heater started to leak again. I called back and he came out again. He said that the pipe need to be drained. He drained the pipes, and I had no problems since then. Was very pleased with the service. They was very professional and friendly. I would recommend them to anyone.

I liked that they came years ago when I wanted them to come to have a new heating system put in. They responded and answered the telephone.

Mike Toran took the time to explain all of his work to me as he was completing things on a step-by-step basis. He also took the time to literally draw me a picture so that I was able to comprehend the heating process that much better. He was also a good conversationalist, so the time he was at my house passed quickly. I feel that while I spent a sum of money on the repair, I learned a lot and have a basic knowledge with which to proceed in the future.

Mike Toran came within a few days of my phone call to give me an estimate. He explained the various options clearly. I decided to choose a total replacement of furnace, AC, and water heater after analyzing Mike's information and considering the generous rebates. The job was completed in 2 days.The workmen with efficient and courteous. They cleaned up more completely than I would have.

I was very happy with them. The guy who came out was very thorough, complete and informative. I have had no problems. I would use them again in the future; in fact, they will be working on my system in July.

He asked if I had any coupons from Angies list (I told them that's how I got their name) and I explained I didn't have a printer. He gave me the value of the coupon without it. He was a great guy and great to talk to. He came out and looked at what I needed and told me that he would email me an estimate. I never got the estimate. I had to call twice for him to come out. He was very informative and very easy to talk to. I actually wanted to use him, but he did not get back, and I will probably use someone else now. I did not like the guy because he did not get back to me.

We had to replace a 2 year old furnace can you believe. It was too big for the house and never worked correctly. Mike explained why it wasn't working properly and that a new furnace wasn't really necessary but we would be calling someone for repairs all winter (as had already happened). We decided it was better to replace the furnace now rather than later. He's a really nice guy. Very specific and detailed in his explanations. The installers ran into an unforeseen problem (so what else is new with this house) and he responded quickly to come out and help them. We are super pleased with the new furnace and the fine tuning they did on the CAC. We now have a yearly maintenance contract with them and they call us before we get a chance to call them. Excellent work; excellent service. I don't think you can do better.

My A/C unit was running but the fan wasn't. I sent an e-mail through Angie's List at 11:00 pm and the next morning I got a call and an appointment the same day to evaluate the problem. Mike found a bad circuit board on the furnace. He rigged a by-pass on the system to allow the fan to run continually. He ordered a new circuit board while he was there to ensure he got the right thing. We then scheduled a service call at a later date to replace the bad board. He showed me how to turn the fan off and on manually when needed so I was comfortable until the service work could be completed. He returned today (May 9th) to finish the work. He completed the work quickly, and even left me a spare furnace filter so I know what size to order. The work was done to my complete satisfaction. Mike was very responsive and always was available or quickly returned any phone calls to set up appointments. I intend to continue to use this company in the future for annual preventive maintenance on my HVAC system.

We have used PHILADELPHIA GAS ELECTRIC HEATING & A/C a number of times over the past few years. Mike has always been extremely responsive, very professional and goes to great lengths to explain things. This last time we called him because the thermostat he installed for us a few years ago started acting wacky... resetting itself to a low temperature, displaying every character possible on the screen, displaying nothing at all on the screen. Mike came out the day after we called. He determined that the thermostat was defective and replaced it free of charge.

I chose PG&E again. I've been a customer of Phila. Gas & Electric since 1992 when I had the prior air conditioning and heating systems installed at my home of 18+ years.

My Gas heater was not working. Mike told me over the phone that there was an $89.00 fee to diagnose the problem but that fee would go towards repair. After a thorough and lengthy examination he determined that the furnace needed replacement. I couldn't afford to pay for a replacement right now and asked him to do his best. He refused on the grounds that there was no way he could make the furnace operate safely but that I could call someone else who might do something for me. He recommended the best type of portable electric heaters to use until I could afford a new heater. He was very patient and thorough and explained to me how I actually needed a smaller furnace but better duct work for more efficient heating and gave me his estimate of the replacement costs for future reference. All that and he didn't charge me the $89.00 fee because he couldn't fix the problem right away. Gotta love this guy.

Mike was wonderful He found the problem immediately and went out of his way to give us tips and advice on how to maintain our heating system. He was so prompt, professional and personable. He told us all about his hobby of beekeeping and he just made us feel so good and brightened up our day. This is the kind of service experience that is rare, indeed.

They were professional and responsive from the start. I e-mailed them at 9:45 the previous night, and that got back to me the next morning at 9:00 and were at my house at 11:00. The repair was a bit tricky since the problem was multi-tiered. but they were able to diagnose, get parts and get everything installed and working by 2:00. Great job. Easy to deal with and very professional. They will be my go to for HVAC from this point on. Thanks!

Prompt response from the time I called with my issue. Arrived on time and explained the problem very well. Great service, will be using them again as system maintenance and cleaning.

They were very good. It took a little longer than expected. They had trouble getting the oil furnace out. The person they refereed me to, to remove the oil tank did a good job. They also advised me that it would be a good idea to change my water heater as well. I ended up have a high efficiency gas furnace and a high efficiency water heater installed. There was something wrong with the pump. I called on Christmas day and he answered. He came the next day and replaced it at no charge.

We awoke in the morning to no heat. Had been meaning to join Angie's List, and since we now had need, we gave it a shot. Found Philadelphia Gas and Electric on the first search, and they offered a $30 coupon. We received several calls from Mike Toran who did his best to diagnose the problem over the phone. He had a service employee (Scott) to our place within about two hours, who diagnosed it as a much less expensive problem than originally thought. It turns out it was simply a bad ignitor, and Scott also went ahead and cleaned the burners and changed the filter, as we had never had the system cleaned before in the four years we've been in the home. Overall, it was a quick, professional, problem-free visit. We will use them again in the future.
