He was responsive to telephone messages, arrived on time, was polite and very efficient about solving and repairing the problem.

they were prompt, took time to explain what was being done and alas, later in the evening, when the heater would not go on ,the owner came out and repaired the switch.

Tenant called to report she was turning on heat but the pilot light would not light; called Phila Gas & Elec around 2 pm on 1/28/14 got a call back by 3 pm and explained the problem, repairman came out by 4 pm on 1/28/14, replaced the ignition component while showing and explain what the problem was. Repairman was prompt, professional and knowledgeable.

It went well and fine. It was quite a while ago, I am sure it was most of many years about a year ago. It was $99. They were very responsive, came quickly, not immediately, it was not an emergency, but they did an appointment and came promptly, came when they said they would, and do not take too long.

They were very professional and gave me a detailed proposal of what they would do .I decided to go with another company but this had no bearing on their professionalism

Mike was punctual, honest, very knowledgeable, thorough and helped me in my specific situation tremendously - he honestly went above and beyond what I expected (and I have very high expectations). I would absolutely recommend him and his company to anyone!

The inspection went very well. The problems associated with my type of furnace and how it was originally installed were explained in language I could understand. After he explain what he needed to do to get my heat started again, Mike took only about 30 minutes and also gave me the name of another company listed on Angies List to do another repair I needed. I was very satisfied with the service.

They serviced the heater under the maintenance contract I have with them. It went very well. They have been performing this heater maintenance for many years.

They called me proactively and explained they don’t work with oil. They were very nice and took care of the refund for me.

They have been fine. They are knowledgeable and know what they are doing. They come when they are scheduled and call when they are on their way. They work efficiently and are very pleasant people.

I have no problem with them. It's a great service! The owner himself comes out on occasion if something happens to be wrong and the technicians are very knowledgeable. I would recommend them to others.

They did a great job. He was very punctual and reasonably priced. The work met my expectations. Everything was perfect. I had the problem for quite a long time, I had brought different people with whom I wasn't happy. He solved the problem.

.He arrived a couple of hours late with no comment. He also delivered his estimate a few days later than promised. It was the highest of the three that I received, though not unreasonable. While visiting he was professional and clearly knowledgeable but not as thorough as the company I chose.

I just recently purchased my home so i wanted my a/c system to be checked over for preventative maintenance. Mike came out and looked at my a/c unit-- he said that it didnt need any freon and checked the filter that I had put in. He was about a half an hour and went over things with me. Mike gave me tips on what type of filters to get. He said my system was in good shape, so it was nice for him to be honest with me. Mike never tried to sell me anything that I didn't need. Mike also gave me a recommendation on who to call to have my air ducts cleaned out before the winter time. I will be calling Mike back out to check the heating system for me as well.

He came the same day as promised and looked at the Central Air unit outside. He told me that the air out put was not coming strait out of the unit as it was supposed to . He showed me what he meant by air flow and said that the coils need to be cleaned. He did so and the amount of dirt coming out of the coils was amazing. He then told me that I should do this at least once a year and as far as I know it was never done. He checked the tempature inside and found that it needed freeon and that was the costly part. I have a unit that was installed in 1989 so to replace the freon was costly. He checked the tempature balance and explained every step to me. At no time did he try to talk me into purchasing a new unit. He just let me know that this unit has a few good years left. He answered all of my questions and gave me a lot of information about energy effiicency and such. Mike was good at what he does and I would use him in the future. I also used a coupon off of Angies list saving me a little money.

My furnace was not working and they came and fixed it. They also provieded recommendations to make my furnace runn more efficiently. I felt the service was so good that I now use them on an annual basis through a service contract for my furnace and AC unit. They provide great, reliable, professional service.

Called for an estimate on replacing our central air system after having an addition to our home completed. I made an appointment with Mike who arrived as scheduled. He took a look at the furnace and cooling system in the basement and explained that our furnace unit is too big for our house. I explained that the furnace is only two years old and that I was not looking to replace it at this time. Mike pointed out a few other items to me and then took a look at the unit outside. All told he spent about 20-30 minutes at the house. I asked him about timing on getting his estimate and he said that he could mail it or drop it off but it would be quicker if he mailed it. I asked if he could e-mail it to me and gave him both my work and home e-mail addresses. It is nearly two weeks after the appointment and I still have not received an estimate as promised. Consequently, we are having the work done by another company.

Philadelphia Gas & Electric Heating & A/C were excellent. They here the next morning and everything was put in real fast. They were in and out in about half an hour. Everything has been working fine ever since. I'm getting ready to call them back again.

It went very well. They were very efficient and solved the problem in the first visit.

They did the maintenance at the Big Deal price of $99, but charged us $89.00 for labor, $42.00 for a wheel, $18.00 for a fan, and $239.00 for the motor. All of these items, excluding the fan and labor, were marked up from their original costs, especially the motor. We found the price for the items on a valid website that stated the motor was only $87.00. I called and asked him why the mark-up on the motor was so high. He stated that he could charge what ever he wanted and their was nothing we could do about it. I feel that he has taken advantage of a senior citizen.

It was about 25 degrees out and the furnace, which had been clanking loudly as well as switching off at odd times for several weeks, finally decided to cut out altogether. I searched Angie's List for a Heating/Cooling contractor who could come and evaluate and fix the problem ASAP. I received a call back from several companies, including Philadelphia Gas & Electric Heating & A.C. In fact, I had already made an appointment with another contractor, but the PG & EH A/C technician, Mike, said if he had a break in his schedule, he'd come out immediately. I said OK, as the first company to get here was the one that was going to do the work. It was freezing in my home. Mike asked what kind of furnace we had so that he could make sure he brought any relevant parts or components with him. He called back just about an hour later and said he was on his way. I phoned to cancel the other contractor. Mike arrived promptly and was dressed appropriately in a company parka, etc., which as a safety precaution, I appreciated. He came in with his tools, didn't try to chit-chat (which I also appreciated) and got right to work. Within five minutes he'd done a partial diagnosis. Within twenty minutes or so, he was fully into the repair. He advised me all along the way what he was doing, what needed to be done next, etc. Turns out our ignition component had failed and Mike replaced it. He ran the furnace through a cycle, wrote up my bill, took the payment and we were all done. Then, I had questions about how to maintain the furnace so that future emergencies could be avoided. I have to say, Mike's encyclopedic knowledge of heating systems, the types, how they work, what they need, how to get the most bang for your buck in systems, etc., was incredible. By the time he left, about ten minutes later, I had a full working understanding of my system, how to keep it going and what I might replace it with, should I choose to go that route. Then, Mike offered to send some brochures on new systems, which I gladly agreed to receive.

I contacted them on monday, he explained the ad was wrong and this was only for an inspection not for a yearly maintenca plan. He was very nice gave me a follow up call.

In light of the experience with PHILADELPHIA GAS & ELECTRIC HEATING & A/C, I would use and highly recommend them time and again. They are a clear example of how contractor service should be conducted and a key model to repeat customer usage, recommendation, and over all company profitability.
