Description of Work: We asked the company for a second opinion following a dubious recommendation from Eastern Heating & Cooling that we needed to replace our outside heat pump unit. The company was prompt, helpful, and professional. The service man was not sure our air handler matched the inside unit and made several calls to the manufacturer to check specifications. He also explained the cause of the noise and that we definitely did not need to replace the unit, saving us several thousand dollars. He cleaned the unit and we have not had a problem all winter or spring.

Description of Work: We had a contract with Philadelphia Gas & Electric for maintenance twice a year of our 2 heating and a/c units, at a price of $396. They did the routine maintenance last fall, but did it very quickly. On a cold day in early April, our downstairs unit stopped working. The same technicians came out. They purportedly checked the unit and then said that the "board" on this over 20-year old unit was dead. They told me it would cost $1400-1600 to replace the "board," which would require conversion and rewiring. They gave me an estimate of $7800 to replace the furnace and the downstairs a/c unit. Another contractor came out the next day to give us an estimate. Before doing the estimate, he looked at the furnace. He told me that the furnace did not have a board. He noted that there was a wire loose in the furnace. He reattached the wire and then lit the pilot. Once the pilot was lit, the furnace worked again and we have had not further problems with it.

Description of Work: They installed a high efficiency (96%) heating and air conditioning system.
