It went great. They worked quickly and efficiently. They were courteous. They called the day before to confirm the date. It was great experience. The only minor issue, I paid with credit card and he could not provide a receipt at the time. He stated he would send me one, but has not.

THESE GUYS ARE GREAT!!! I had used a mover in the past that was pretty terrible. I am so happy that I used Old City Movers this time!!! The entire process was so painless, from the scheduling to the move. The guys arrived bright and early ready to work. They were enthusiastic and super pleasant to deal with. They got my one-bedroom apartment move finished in two hours and took great care of my stuff. The biggest challenge was getting my queen-sized adjustable bed up into a high loft ... they were up to the task!!!! It was pretty difficult but they got it done!! I will DEFINITELY use Old City Movers for my next move.

The guys were about 15 minutes late arriving, and although I had arranged for them to come to the storage space first, no one ever told them so they showed up at the apartment instead. Despite the inauspicious beginnings, the move went great. They didn't start the clock until after I had given them the lay of the land, they worked fast, and were extremely careful with our stuff. They were personable and cheerful, answered our many annoying questions, and even ended up moving some extra stuff that we hadn't originally planned to have them move. They took a little longer than I expected for lunch, but it being one of the hottest days of the summer, I didn't begrudge them a little extra time. They were so efficient in the loading and unloading that we probably came out ahead despite the longer-than-expected break.

The overall experience was very positive. Old City was able to answer my many questions over the phone and we were able to find a day that met our schedule. Old City also took care of the permits since we would need to block the street for part of the move. On the day of the move, Old City (Sam, Paul and Jeremy) showed up on time. The were very careful with all of our belongings and with our house. They disassembled and assembled various pieces (e.g. bed frame, shelves, etc) and they put every item in the appropriate room. The overall job from start to finish took about 6.5 hours which seemed reasonable to me considering the items, where they had to go and the amount of items that they took apart and assembled. I would use them again.

After calling a number of movers for estimates, John at Old City Movers was the most detailed and professional. He was the only mover to come out to actually look at our stuff before giving us an estimate. On the day of the move, three really wonderful guys showed up on time, ready to get started. They were cheerful and hardworking, getting everything loaded in record time. Even though they filled the first truck and required a second, John came out with the second truck and did not charge us extra. The next day they appeared at the new house right on time, and unloaded the truck quickly. They were so respectful of our belongings, and nothing was broken or damaged. They were a pleasure to be around, and made an insane situation almost fun!!!

I couldn't be more pleased with my entire experience with Old City Movers. From the moment I first called, it was clear that I was not "just another customer" to this company. When moving day came, 2 enthusiastic and energetic moving guys showed up on time and were very professional, polite, efficient and meticulous (thanks Sam & Travis!). My belongings arrived in Washington, DC as scheduled and there were no problems, no hidden fees, and certainly no regrets. Overall, the experience was great. They were very professional and managed to move their truck into a very small street without incident. They covered all of our furniture and it arrived without harm. There was one wooden filing cabinet that arrived a bit scuffed up but it was old and coming apart before they moved it. Other than that, great experience.

The whole process was a breeze; everyone was very professional and explained in detail what to expect the day of the move. The 3 man crew came to the apartment explained when the chargeable time would start and stop for the move and began work quickly thereafter. They moved quickly and were very attentive to anything fragile. The crew was very friendly and had the trunk unloaded at the new house just as quickly as they had loaded it at the apartment even in the rain. We were impressed by their strength, speed, and professionalism and would HIGHLY recommend them to any of our friends or family.

really great movers, extremely professional. called me a few minutes before they were supposed to arrive to tell me that they were in traffic and would be 15 minutes late. they had a great attitude throughout the move, were very positive, and extremely fast. when we arrived at my move-in destination, the building would not allow them to bring the truck into the garage so they had to transport everything a much further distance and down a large hill. they did a great job in spite of that complication, and i felt they were advocating for me and my things! they still finished the job in the same amount of time as estimated, even though they had to really work extra hard to transport the items further. they even went a few minutes over, but still charged me only for three hours. there was no damage to my furniture at all. they are kind, hard-working, and really honest individuals. i highly recommend them to anyone for any type of move!

Excellent experience. The three guys showed up 30 minutes early after calling to confirm the day before and giving a hour notice before arriving. The guys were extremely polite, professional, and accommodating. They communicated very well and made sure everything went smoothly. Entire move took four hours total to complete. Very satisfied with the experience and would definitely recommend Old City Movers to anyone who appreciates quality. Some not so nice neighbors from the apartment complex were rude to the movers but the movers handled the situation very well. Way to be a bigger person!

I was really impressed. From the first phone call, I felt like I was dealing with experienced professionals. They called a day before the move to confirm, and on the day of the move they touched base with me regarding how far away they were (because of rush hour traffic). As promised, 3 men arrived, and went promptly to work after I showed them what would be included in the move. They quietly did their job and only stopped to get clarification on what I wanted moved. We then drove to the storage unit for the remainer (which didn't take long). The unpacking went just as smooth also. I was really pleased with their work, I thought the price was good, they were very nice to do business with, and I would easily recommend them to family and friends. The move started at 845a and finished at about 11am.

Contacted the company 3 or 4 weeks prior to the move date, after reviewing their website information. Received an informative description of the moving services and felt comfortable enough to hire the company on first contact. The gentleman on the first contact phone call (John or Bill) described their moving business as a simple business that they strived to keep that way; picking things up at one location & taking them and placing them at another. I had researched via Google search and was amazed that I could find no negative reports or negative parts of reports on this company. The same was not true of other recognized companies. After my move was over, I understood why there were no negative comments. To come up with a negative comment, I'd have to lie. Old City Movers gave me the pricing up front and stuck to it at the end. The movers showed up on time, went right to work and took 0 breaks during the move, except to drive the truck to the new location. The workers were cooperative and pleasant, but were all business unless you interrupted them. It was a 90 degree, humid day, but the weather did not affect their performance. The effort of the movers (Pearce, Matt and Dan) was more than I expected to see.

The movers were wonderful - they confirmed the arrangements the day before by phone, and arrived 5 minutes early for their 8 AM appointment. They carefully shrink-wrapped all of the furniture that I was worried about (I collect some pieces that would be very hard to repair/replace), and got several large pieces of furniture down a narrow stairway without damaging a thing! Many of these things were a huge struggle to get into the apartment in the first place, but they carefully planned their strategy to get things down the stairs, and managed to have everything downstairs safely and so quickly that we ended up asking them to move several heavy boxes that we had planned to move ourselves. They were professional, careful with our belongings and very considerate - they did not leave a mess in either place. I would definitely hire them again!

They were amazing. We have used many movers in the past but none can hold a candle to these guys. They were quick, efficient & very courteous. They arrived on time, loaded up our 3-story brownstone (plus basement) in less than three hours. They were very careful with our furniture and our fragile stuff. They moved us into our new place and placed everything where I wanted and set up the furniture. All in all it was a perfect experience. I have moved (with movers) 4 times in 3 years and Old City was head and shoulders above the rest. No one likes to move, but the guys made it such a pleasant experience I hope to move again with them in the future! A++++
