We received several estimates last month to replace our oil furnace and water heater and East Coast Comfort's estimate was considerably less than the other "big" name companies. In comparing the estimates from each company it was amazing that the listing for parts and service was pretty much identical. The only difference was the total cost. We scheduled an installation date and Tony and his crew showed up on time and were ready to work. They were extremely professional and considerate and finished the job in one day. Great pricing and great service. I would highly recommend them.

Ed came out and gave me the best price on replacing an old central heating/air system (freon!), with a new one. Two weeks later Tony and crew did the work. Job site is downtown, they were ready and able to deal with the parking situation and removal of old system. They were unfazed by the tight workspace (210 year old Phila row house basement), and did a fast, professional job. All the bells, whistles (silicone caulking of condensation -> waste line pump, same for the tube carrying the piping to the condenser), and niceties (digital thermostat, new AC box outside). Very nice. They cleaned up and tested system which works flawlessly. Thanks ECC!

I asked about 5 different companies for a quote and East Coast Comfort was the best price for mini split. Tony, owner of East Coast Comfort was the guy that gave me the quote and he was there to work on the installation with 3 other guys. He answered all my questions, was very patient and knows what he is talking about. I used him because he provides quality product, Fujitsu mini split. He told me it will only take one day and it did. They were in at 8 am and out by 3:30 pm. I have been using the aircondition system for the last 2 weeks and so far no problems. The Fujitsu is so powerful and quiet at the same time. Definitely a good purchase with East Coast Comfort. Also, I used the heat not too long ago to try it out and wow it works really good too.

The charge was very reasonable. He took a very old furnace, and made sure that I had heat. We have used him twice, and we will use him in the future.

I reached out to ECC after some concerns with my current HVAC vendor. The ECC folks diagnosed the problem, which ended up being the same diagnosis as my previous contractor: dead compressor. Their price was only slightly higher than I'd been quoted by my previous company, so they weren't exceptionally inexpensive, and certainly not on the high side either; a fair price based on the two quotes I received. They did credit me the service call for the initial diagnosis, which was appreciated. They were able to schedule the job within a few days, which was very helpful. There were slated to arrive at 8AM, but didn't arrive until 8:30AM. I called the office, and was told due to the rush to schedule the job, they hadn't yet picked up the unit and had to stop at the supply house. Not a big deal, but it would have been good to know ahead of time so that I could have planned going into work a bit later. I left them to do the job unsupervised, and had no problems. They also performed the six-month service on the interior air handler while they were here. The system seems to be working just fine, though the real test will come when it's 100 degrees outside! I was happy with the work ECC did, and everyone I spoke to was pleasant and answered any questions I had. I'm definitely planning to keep them on as my regular HVAC company for both my condo and rental property.

Tony and his crew of two other guys arrived at the appointed time. This project ended up taking two full days and I was there to observe the efforts Tony made to explore the optimal options for installation, to observe the challenge of finding pockets in the wall and around the stack of my old 1920's brick row house. I highly praise his skill in doing troubleshooting and analysis and his technical skills. It was very interesting to watch the installation progress - all those parts and pieces that need to be connected. I commend how well the three men worked together as a team. The indoor units were mounted on the wall very straight and were a beautiful sight to me. The outdoor unit was installed on the lower roof and Tony explained the choice of location. Tony is very personable and patient and took the time to answer my questions, get my opinions, and explain things during the installation. I liked that he did not rush the job, but took the time needed, as though my job was the most important thing, rather than just a job. Ed had given me an estimate a year before, and the work was performed as priced and described in the estimate. Before departing, Tony took the time to explain the system controls, to get me started using it. I am excited about removing the old air conditioners hanging out of the windows and over the door. Now I can enjoy the sun coming in through my large, southern-exposed front windows. I am so excited now to use the system and see how comfortable it makes my house, how I might even save some money by only cooling and heating rooms when they need to be cooled or heated and not when they don't. If you have a home like mine, without existing ducts, I highly recommend that you consider having a mini-split system installed, and choose East Cost Comfort to do the system installation.

Have used this provider multiple time since first using in Sept of 2013. found then through Angies list. Tony , the owner is excellent at responding. his staff is professionala nd dependable. we have worked with them for installation of oil to gas conversion to heating , boiler, issues to hot water heater installations. They are one of the best that we have worked with. Thank you Tony for great work

Mike and his helper arrived on time and proceeded to identify the problem. There were 2 pipes that had not been sealed correctely. Mike performed a nice repair and made sure the pipes were aligned correctly and sealed. I have used this company several times for smaller jobs like this one and for larger ones, and also to annually service my heating and cooling systems. I'm very happy with their detailed, excellent work at reasonable prices! You couldn't do better! Thank you Tony and Co.!

Friendly staff. Arrived a little later than expected but they spent the time to check a few items. Didn't give up. Cleaned part without any upsell on other services. Will use again.

Installation was flawless in our site. i'm pretty sure there was some snags hit. They came around and surveyed they entire area of the house to map out their plan as to where to place vents and the ductless units. We found out we had two chimneys but they managed to solve that problem. Tony showed my husband and I where each vent, ductless unit, wires, and holes were going to be and cut. If that plan changed, Tony would come back and let us know and tell us the change of plans. ECC came with a 4 man crew and each gentlemen were just that a gentleman, very professional and was very knowledgeable in their own right. They are very detail oriented and their minds are on the completion of the job and making sure that they do a great job and not just a good job. At the end after completion, Tony took us around and gave quick but informed tutorial of how the unit basically runs. He informed us that we must read the manual but told us to don't hesitate to call if their is a problem. I know they had to eat but it appeared that they didn't stop and eat. They were prompt and stayed till job was done on the second day. We were told how long it was going to take. This was a pleasant experience. I would have them again and I would highly recommend (ECC) to anyone.

All work completed in 2 days. Explained everything before work and called me at work to discuss options before cutting holes in walls & flooring. Did not assumptions. Very easy to work with.

I have learned that anything can happen to an old home under severe weather condition. Especially home owner is not familiar with those combo conditions(old home & weather) and have no idea what to expect. On a same day we had water leaking problem in our basement due to the dammed ice on the roof and also our boiler kept running continuously without coordinating with thermostat. The house got overheated. I googled late night to search for ways to turn off gas furnace but was too afraid of touching the old machine. It was Thursday night. I called ECC for help the next morning. Even though Tony was scheduled to come out on Monday, he popped out shortly to check what is going on first on Friday. Due to the age of the boiler and numerous possible causes, he had to leave after teaching me how to properly turn on and off the boiler at this stage. On that night I switched off the boiler due to the same reason-overheating. The next morning which was Saturday, I found the house was too cold and turned back the thermostat & boiler switch on but the boiler did not react. I emailed and called Tony to discuss what to do and he sent Ed for emergent service. Ed came on time and spent a good amount of time to resolve the problems with patience. He tested a couple of things and found out the boiler switch was broken and also electrical wire between thermostat and boiler was damaged. Ed replaced the switch and installed a temporary thermostat since re-wiring in this house without damaging the wall is not possible. I have been always impressed with their customer service.

Ed from ECC submitted the most reasonable-priced proposal. Ed came to my house on time and did measurement for all the rooms and emailed me the proposal at the same day at night. Ed patiently answered all the questions I had by email. During the conversation with Ed, I realized that my house water heater had problem - couldn't provide enough hot water to the end of a shower. So I asked for replacing it together with HVAC. Again the price was very reasonable. After I signed the proposal, the office quickly scheduled the work. Tony and his crew came 9am in the morning. They were polite and professional. They put the drop cloth on the work area (carpeted stairs and basement floor). Tony showed us all the steps about how to program the thermostat. They finished work around 5pm and left the work area broom clean - no debris both indoor and outdoor. At night, I noticed the warm air came out from the small gap between the furnace blower and coil cabinet. I emailed Tony and he replied quickly and next day the office called me and scheduled the work. The tech came as scheduled and sealed the gap in a minute. Now my house is more comfortable than before especially in such a crazy cold weather recently. Now I no longer hear my daughter's complaint about the cold house after HVAC upgrade. Thanks ECC! I couldn't say anything about the new AC yet but believe it is going to work great this summer.

I can't say enough good things about the folks at East Coast. They were on time, walked me through everything, and were extremely professional. Our heating system was not wired correctly, so they replaced the breakers and changed out all the wiring for larger gauge. They will be on speed dial if we have any other needs.

I woke to 10 degree outside temperatures and no heat. I called a number of service providers, some who never responded. I signed up for Angie's List and found East Coast Comfort (ECC), gave them a call and they returned my call within a relatively short time. Given that I had already waited about 3-4 hours for some of the others to return my call, getting someone to respond was a welcome relief. ECC said they wouldn't be able to send someone out until the next day, however given my concerns that water pipes might freeze, they said they'd call back if anyone could make it out sooner. ECC was honest and transparent and didn't discourage me from calling other providers. I did find another provider - one that I'd used in the past who didn't rate as well on Angie's list as did ECC, however they were unable to come out until the end of the day (4:30-6:30). In the meantime, ECC did call me back, letting me know there was someone who could make it out in 30-40 minutes. The technician arrived as scheduled, on time. He quickly diagnosed the problem (no power to the furnace), tracked it down to a loose wire in the emergency cut off switch and repaired it without incident. I received a discount for having found them on Angie's List, paid by credit card and he was on his way. I canceled the appointment with the other provider - ECC was able to get someone out to me, and fix it before the other provider was even supposed to show up! As a point of reference for the quality of this service, where I live is on the outer-most edge of their service area and they were still able to make it out and alleviate my worries in short order. I will recommend them to others as well as putting them on the top of my list to call in the future. This is a tough time of year to be a HVAC service provider and ECC was able to deliver.

The team from ECC did a great job start to finish. Their quoted price was more than fair compared to other quotes we received for our conversion. The installation day went off without a hitch. The team worked efficiently to disconnect and get rid of the old oil boiler and hooked up and installed the new gas boiler and included a new programmable thermostat. They took the time to explain how everything worked. Our house has been plenty warm from our new high efficiency gas boiler during the past few cold winter months. I'd highly recommend them for a similar gas conversion job.

He gave me a quote over the phone. I had to call them 3 times just to pay them. They charged me $80 trip charge; and they didn’t have the part I needed so they charged me a second $80 trip charge to come back.

Overall my experience has been good. I have a tank-less water heater installed by another company and it was installed wrong so when East Coast Comfort came in, realized that it was installed wrong, they called the manufacturer of the unit because they realized that the manufacturer had put in a wrong part in the unit. So they made arrangements for the unit to be shipped to them. They came to my house for which I had to pay them a small amount as service charge for their work; also that unit has a breather system that goes outside the home. So they came in and they redirected the breathing system on it for minimum cost and it has been working fine ever since. For what they did for me I find their price very reasonable since they charged only a minimum cost and I will use them ever since. They were very professional.

Nothing. We didn't use the deal. We ended up getting a new furnace from another company.

They were excellent in terms of emergencies. I called them at 7:30 in the morning. I did not have heat, and discovered this from overnight. And so, I happen to call them, this was the first time. I had used them twice already, but 2 different problems with my heater that happened about a month and a half before. It turned out within ignition control board that had to be replaced. I called and I got the emergency technician on the phone. He said he could come over after his first call. So, he was at my house, I think by 9:30 in the morning, to do what the problem was, was able to go, did not have to park on the truck, but it is within set us Philadelphia where they have their warehouse. He was able to drive, get park, be back at the house inside for an hour, had it fixed, worked cleanly, and that was it. That was during the time when I was having the plumbing work done. The whole house was the mess of the time, when they came in to work on the heater. We could have moved things, so they could get to the heater. And a lot of the problems of the heater at that point, and then with the shelf between the point was probably because of the dust that was involved with the work with the basement. And because of that, that is set of the heater. So, the fact that they had to come out, to repair the heater, had nothing to do with the job that was a matter of second part toward the dust. The last time I had them come back was 12/13/2013. And that was to have a start replaced. That one was $470. He actually gave me a break because of all the work we knew we had done for the plumbing.
