Called ECC late Wednesday afternoon, and was scheduled for Friday at 2pm. They called earlier in the day and had my job completed before 1pm. My HVAC unit had the air intake disconnected by floor installers who had been working in my house a month ago. I was unaware of the problem until the temps dropped to 45 degrees and I cut the heat on for the first time this season. Upon my hitting the switch for heat I heard a loud boom that sounded like a 12 gauge shotgun going off in my closet. I immediately cut the system off and went to inspect what happened. I knew that a professional was needed to fix the problem. The 2 guys that came out were good at their craft and fixed the problem in less than 20 minutes, cleanly and professionally. I would recommend them for efficient diagnosis and repairs of HVAC systems. I really appreciate their service as we had the first snow of the year last night, and this weekend will be brisk one. Thanks guys!

I reached out to East Coast Comfort for an annual cleaning since they had come out last January for some emergency maintenance and did a great job. The service was performed by one of the co-owners Tony Mongeluzi and he arrived early for a scheduled 8 am appointment. After I showed him where the heater was located he did a quick diagnosis and explained why there was a heavy oil smell when I turned on the heat for the first time a few days before (clogged nozzle) as well as the additional maintenance and cleaning he was going to perform. Tony did an excellent job answering all of my questions and even let me know that while my New York boiler is pretty old, it's still running very efficiently and therefore there's no reason to think about replacing it with a new model which is something I've recently thought about. Tony also did a great job of cleaning up the area around the heater when he was finished and I'll certainly recommend East Coast Comfort to anyone I know who has any type of HVAC need.

The technicians were very thorough and went out of their way to trouble shoot a problem, which resulted in a big savings for me.

Came for estimate on time. Provided estimate promptly. Only a short wait before providing service. Very professional during removal and install. No problems.

This is at least the third year in a row that I have used East Coast Comfort for my annual oil furnace maintenance, and I continue to be very pleased with their service. The person who specializes in the type of burner I have, Ed, is punctual, efficient, friendly, and informative. Also, their price for oil furnace maintenance is lower than for any other company I have checked (as of a couple of years ago), and Ed even honored an older Angie's List coupon that I had for 10% off. I strongly recommend this company for furnace and air conditioner maintenance. (I have not used them for anything else.)

It was my second time to have ECC tune up my old hot water boiler. Scheduling was easy, support from and communication with office was excellent, technician Mike came on time and performed the service as planned. However, I found the boiler leaking on the same night after the tune up and thought that my old boiler finally died. Emailed/called the company and received the follow-up service right away-Mike stopped by in the morning, monitored the pressure and confirmed no more water leaking. There was a little drama at night when I found water in the basement but ECC took an action in a timely manner!! ECC is one of my great finds at Angieslist!

He was actually a few minutes early for appointment because he knew I had to leave at a certain time and he came out on a Saturday to accomodate my work schedule. He was very professional, and took measurements etc. Provided an estimate in writing within two days. Ultimately decided to use another company because of cost.

The company was quick to send someone out, and all the work was completed in about an hour and a half. They were punctual and professional. To fix our broken radiator, we had received a previous estimate that was about twice as much as what East Coast Comfort did the work for. They gave us a great price and explained the problem and their solution very clearly.

All went well and we had airconditioning restored to get us through the rest of the summer. We have an old heating/airconditioning that East Coast Comfort has kept running for us despite its age. We are going to have East Coast comfort replace the unit in the spring. We have complete confidence that Tony & Ed will do a great job at a reasonable price.

We contracted with East Coast Comfort to install a new heating and cooling system several years ago. We have also used them to maintain the systems via yearly maintenance appointments. The office staff are very nice to speak with and scheduling someone to perform maintenance was simple. The technician showed up on time and performed his job quickly. He explained all services that he performed. We are very happy with East Coast and recommend them to friends in need of new systems or service to existing systems.

They are excellent. They always explain things thoroughly and put a personal touch to everything. They are honest and trustworthy.

This review is long overdue. I usually don't take the time to write reviews but I felt East Coast Comfort really deserves one. East Coast Comfort was everything I expected. From getting the quote to the installation, all the staff I had contact with were very friendly and patient, especially with the number of times I called them and the amount of questions I had. I received quotes from four companies and I felt East Coast Comfort took the most time to understand what I needed in the new system. I was undecided on a couple of systems and they took the time to give me a detailed proposal on each system I was interested in. Also, for the system I got, East Coast Comfort gave me the best price. Horizon's quote for literally the exact same system was twice as much, except Horizon included 10 years labor which I don't think is worth $7K. My neighbor has the exact same system installed by Horizon and my job actually looks neater and nicer for $7K less! The installation went smoothly. The crew arrived early and sat in the driveway because they didn't want to disturb us prior to 8am which was their designated time of arrival. They laid out drop cloth and work around our mess in the basement. I was curious about what they were doing and they would patiently explain whatever I wanted to know. I needed my thermostat relocated to a new area but the area had an obstruction that made it hard to thread the wires. Unfortunately the new area was the only location that will give a best read of the temperature in the house and East Coast Comfort spent over 2 hours to make it happen. I was amazed at their dedication to make it right especially when the main job was done and the thermostat was the only thing left. I had a cheap thermostat and they replaced it with a better one too. The other companies I received quotes from just told me that I should leave the thermostat in the old location. It is almost five months since the installation and I love the new system East Coast Comfort recommended. It works so much better for our house, better than our old one even when it was brand new. From my experience I would highly recommend East Coast Comfort if you need a new HVAC system.

Did all maintenance tasks on gas-hot air heater, communicated observations. Friendly, professional and well-qualified and trustworthy. I ask for this service each year, even though I am able to do the basic lubrication of fan motor, cleanout and check burners, replace mister pad, check/replace filters, etc. I travel a lot so I want a trustworthy responsive technician/company to be available when there is a problem and I am away on a business trip. And Ed may see something that I don't, so I have peace of mind knowing that he has inspected the unit.

the service guy came on time, was very friendly and the work was satisfying.

Went to turn on the central air for the first time of the season and noticed only warm air was blowing through the ducts. Had another rated company come out to diagnose my unit and found that there was no freon pressure, so there must have been a leak somewhere. This company quoted me fairly high testing costs without the guarantee to fully repair the issue, and pushed me toward getting a brand new unit (costing several thousand dollars). Assuming I needed a new AC unit, I contacted East Coast for a quote because of their outstanding reviews on Angie's list. Ed arrived to price out a new unit and I explained the freon situation. He didn't think the story from the other company added up and right then and there, re-arranged his schedule and offered to re-test the system. After his diagnosis, he strongly felt we could refill the system with freon and a sealant. The next day he came out and administered the repair and my air has blown cold ever since. I even had him come back again to look at another smaller issue and the cost was very fair. Ed could have simply provided me with a quote for a new AC unit, but he went out of his way to do us right and save us a lot of money. That shows great integrity and customer service. Will definitely use this company again (have already scheduled them to service heaters at two other properties).

Mike is an outstanding diagnostician. He identified a problem with the pressure from the gas line which ended up being an issue for Philadelphia Gas Works. The issue Mike identified was confirmed by PGW as being clogged gas lines (because of age). The PGW is here now digging up the street and repairing the problem. Excellent work by East Coast Comfort!!! Thank you!

I needed a new heater for my house and I called Tony at East Coast Comfort. He came right out to my house and gave me an estimate.(And we shopped around) I hired him on the spot because I could tell he was very knowledgeable on heaters and I liked his price. He installed my heater and I have not had any problem with it. You will get a superior job if you hire Tony at East Coast Comfort. And told us we could get a rebate from PECO! Thanks Tony +++

This company is very professional and responsive. They scheduled an appointment for a free estimate quickly and conveniently. Ed arrived on time and couldn't have been more professional, knowledgeable and helpful. His estimate came by email as promised less than 36 hours later (on a holiday weekend!). The estimate is more than fair and I trust that we will be using his company to install the system in the near future.

We are very happy with the job East Coast Comfort did. East Coast Comfort has a special team designated for air conditioning and heater installations. Tony, the leader of the installations team is very competent, friendly and a great communicator. Throughout the day, Tony explained what was going on, and at the end of the day, explained everything we had to know about what to do and how things worked. We couldn't be more impressed. We highly recommend East Coast Comfort as a highly competent company that has great integrity!

I noticed a pool of water near our washer in the basement and, after checking as many things as I could, determined it was from what I called "the AC drip". I made a few calls, to a few companies, and found their prices too high, their service charge not applicable to the work, or that they were too busy. I called East Coast and the woman that answered had a pleasant, cheerful voice. I explained my problem and it sounded like I was going to be at the back of the line but she was able to fit me in for an appointment on Friday, 8/8/14, between 10A and Noon. On Friday morning I called to confirm my appointment and was again treated politely and cheerfully. I was told everything was in order. At 9:50A, my doorbell rang and I opened it to find Ed, a clean, personable, professional looking tech. He said he'd come in through the basement. When he came in, he asked questions regarding the problem and thought I was right with my diagnosis. I left him to his work and about 35 minutes later heard him call out that he was finished. He explained all the work he performed, gave me an idea of what to do for preventive maintenance and we discussed a job I want done in the near future. The area was left with no trash or debris. We settled up the bill, which was less than I thought I was going to spend and Ed was on his way. Thankfully my problem was minor and I am already checking my schedule to get my next project started. I was impressed with the quality and efficiency of East Coast in general, and Ed in particular. They've earned more of my business.

I contacted East Coast comfort as one of three contractors I was interested in using for my oil to gas conversion. We set up an appointment and Ed showed up on time, measured the job, answered ALL my questions and said it would take a few days to provide me with a proposal. The proposal came in that week-end and was comprable to the other one I received. One individual never provided the proposal he agreed to provide. I decided on the other provider simply because I felt there was more expertise in removing and disposing of the oil in the tanks. Ed was pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and punctual. I would definitely use him for any future issues and I would recommend him to my friends.

They arrived on time and serviced the unit. The price was fair and the person was professional. He also made some recommendations for our unit to run more efficiently.

I set up an appointment for 1-3PM to have my AC repaired. At about 1:00 their office called to say their technician was running late but they would be out. (I appreciated the ?heads-up). At about 3ish the office called and said they tech was finished and would be out to my house in about ½ hour. At 4:25 I called to ask where he was and got a recording, so I left my name and phone number asking for a callback. At 4:35 Tony (the owner) called back and said the tech was at my house and knocked but got no answer (he didn?t have my phone number-their fault; I didn?t hear him knock-my fault). Tony said he had to drop off a tech at their car and would stop at my house on his way home (after normal working hours). Tony arrived about 5:30 and by this time it was raining quite hard along with thunder and lightning. I fully expected him to tell me he would reschedule me for the next day, but he went back outside and started looking for the problem. He tested the capacitor and found a faulty wire connection to the capacitor and made the quick fix, all the while in the rain, with the thunder and occasional lightning creating a dramatic back drop. I have the highest regard for the service of this company and will highly recommend them. Oh, did I mention his service charge was reasonable and said if any (related) problems arose in the next 30 days he would credit the service call to that which I already paid.

East Coast was fabulous. From beginning to end it was great. On the initial appointment Ed came in, listened to what I was looking for and proposed the best set up for our needs. He didn't try to oversell us the size of the units, which as I understand from what I've read, can be as inefficient as under-sized units. When the crew of four came in to install the units Tony made sure to take accurate measurements, so it was optimal for each room. At the end of the installation Tony walked me through the instructions and answered all of my questions. Professional, reliable, skilled, and courteous. They were so conscience that aside from the new mini-splits the rooms showed no signs of the work that was performed (no debris, etc.) and they took all their trash with them.
