I can't say enough good things about this company. Tony and Ed are very nice, honest and efficient workers. This is the second project they've done for me (installed a heating and cooling unit in my kitchen in May 2015). They came out and did a very thorough evaluation of the problem (there were many -- some caused by incompetent plumbers) and gave me recommendations. I really liked that they proposed to fix the heating issues for the major areas of the home and suggested I put off dealing with another costly problem for an unfinished area of the house until I'm ready to do the renovations. I was ready to do it all because I've been so frustrated and was so happy to find professional and competent plumbers. Lisa, the office manager, is always super efficient and very pleasant. Communication was top-notch. It took less than 48 hours to get a proposal, payment was easy (I chose card number over the phone for deposit and check for final pay), and scheduling was always hassle free. Seriously, I love these guys. Finding professional, high-quality, honest plumbers in Philadelphia is (almost) as hard as curing cancer.

From my first contact with Lisa/reception, this company was communicative, responsive, flexible and extremely professional. I LOVE my new heating/cooling systems. I would absolutely 100% recommend them.

I called ECC to give me an estimate for a new Central air unit/coil and a ductless system for a newly enclosed porch. Tony arrived right on time and spent a considerable amount of time with me. He was very professional, polite and knowledgeable. His price was lower than the other contractors that I had give estimates, but unfortunately, I have a Carrier heater and wanted to replace the AC unit/coil with a Carrier unit as well and Tony installs Lennox products. ECC installed my neighbors AC and they are EXTREMELY happy with the work that he provided. He was responsive when they had a little issue after the install and Tony was there the same day and without cost. He stands behind his work and I will DEFINETLY use him in the future if needed.

We first called East Coast Comfort to check our AC system because the temp reading on the thermostat kept going up and there was no cooling by the AC system. The first visit was by Mike who thought the problem might be with the thermostat, so a new one was installed. On checking the central air unit, he added freon and felt the unit might have a leak. Mike arranged to come back a few days later to recheck and to seal around the coils; that fix didn't last long. I made an after hours call, received a call back. The next visit was by Pete who said nothing more could be done and we needed a new unit. (This came as no surprise as the heater was nearly 30 years old and the central air was not doing the job). Pete took the measurements and submitted to the office. We received a proposal detailing the cost, make, model #, parts needed, etc. Once we accepted the proposal, we received the contract detailing amount of down payment and final payment and a date for installation was confirmed. On the day of installation, the reps arrived promptly, removed the old heat and AC system. installed the new heater and central air and left the area clean. I spoke with Tony who answered my questions professionally that I felt comfortable with the heating and a/c system ECC installed. My husband was the person who interacted the most with the ECC reps Mike, Pete and Tony; he was obviously happy with them and their work, since he had nothing negative to say. Whenever I contacted their office, my calls were handled pleasantly and professionally. What more can I say other than we are happy we chose East Coast Comfort!

Professional evaluation and estimate by Mike of 1 of 2 central air units (approx 12yrs old)..Then installation and cleaning of second unit after parts were in. From scheduling to completion a fair, friendly yet professional, approach to services and customer satisfaction. This is a company which embodies integrity. Highly recommend.

After a bit of a slow start due to some scheduling & ladder issues, serviceman quickly went to work on the interior of the home. Within a few minutes, tech identified that the transformer had blown (I had thought it was the circuit board). Even though he didn't have it on his truck, he went out of his way to pick up the part from an HVAC store in the area. Once that was fixed, he methodically went about identifying where the shorted wire was. Once he figured out it was on the rooftop unit, he was able to go through a skylight in my home and fix it! It was a >90 degree day. Once that was replaced, and he went above and beyond by using some existing wiring in my home to set up my smart thermostat so it would work more efficiently (through a C wire). All in all, I am very happy with the service, and recommend East Coast Comfort highly! I found them to be more knowledgeable than other HVAC contractors I've worked with in the past, and genuinely good people.

Ed came on time and performed annual inspection and maintenance on the system. It took more than one and a half hours. I was reported that he found water leaks on the pan and fixed it properly. Considering his traveling and onsite time he spent, his price seems very fair to me and I always appreciate his through service. Thanks so much again!

Women who answered the phone made it clear multiple times that they were overwhelmed with all the business right now and asked if I would be ok with a late June / july install. I said sure. She then said let me look at the schedule.... again saying "we are crazy busy" I said I would like a Saturday appointment for the estimate. She said that would be 180 dollars for them to come out on a Saturday to give me an estimate. I found 5 other greatly rated Angie List providers that can and seem more interested in getting my business so I said have a nice day and moved on. I guess this is a good review for them because clearly they have so much business that they are charging potential clients for a quote to get there business ... So If you want to pay them so they can do nothing more than tell you what they can do for you.... this is your company.

He did a very good job. He was engaging and made me feel comfortable.

It went very well. Tony was very professional and an excellent mechanic. We are very pleased with the performance of the new unit. Also all old material was taken away and they did an excellent clean up job.

It was great. They did an awesome job. That was the second time I used them and they were very professional. They were extremely reasonable.

Basically, this company was great. Ed, the person who did my initial estimate was very professional, helpful, and not pushy at all on what work I should have done. I never felt like he was trying to up sell me - he just gave me his honest opinion on what I should do considering my requirements. He ended up making a single recommendation for all the equipment to be installed based on what I said and what he understood I needed. For example, he didn't show me a brochure of furnaces to pick from in order to pressure me into picking a furnace that is more expensive that what I need (which is how other companies I looked at did). He just recommended a high quality, but basic-level furnace and water heater that appropriately met the needs of my home. In addition to spending the time with me explaining how his company could do the water heater and furnace work, I was also able to ask him a lot of questions about how central air conditioning could be added to my home in the future. He was able to clearly describe the pros and cons all the ways I could do this, and how much each way would approximately cost. He never pressured me into doing the A/C work, and I decided not to pursue it for now...but I feel like I know what I will do when I decide to. And I'll probably choose East Coast Comfort to do that work. The installation of the new equipment was an equally nice experience. I was not able to be there during the work other than to let them in, but my partner was there the whole time and he had nothing but good things to say about (1) the work that was done and (2) the attitude/quality of the people doing the work. They were friendly and professional throughout the duration of the job. Finally, the price for all of this was great! I got 3 other quotes, all from companies rated A on Angie's list, and these guys charged at least 2k less than the other companies. So on all accounts East Coast Comfort gave me a great experience and I certainly recommend them.

Very smooth installation of new boiler and vents, completed the same day. Ed, Tony and the guys are very personable and did a clean installation; sometimes I catch myself admiring how nice everything looks in the basement, especially now that our boiler has a much smaller footprint. And it really saved us this winter considering how cold it has been and how drafty our big 100+ year old house is. I felt like the boiler was running all the time but our monthly bill wasn't much more than when we lived in our last home, which was half the size. Also, SO much quieter: the old boiler sounded like a car hitting the house every time it started up.The new one is barely perceptible. Totally went on their recommendation with regard to make and model and btus and couldn't be happier with the result.

The issue is not fully resolved, so they are coming back this month to finish the job. They are very professional and I appreciate their customer service.

It was fine. They were very professional and did a good job.

They are very knowledgeable, prompt, and courteous. If we have any issues, they will come back and take a look at it. They are very clean especially Tony. He is good with the oil. He uses a special dry powder that he puts down to suck up the oil that is if there is any left on the floor so that it does not leave that smell. They are very good and I would definitely have them back again.

We got a call from tenants at about 7pm (on the coldest day of winter so far) to tell us that the heat wasn't working. PANIC! We needed to find someone QUICK. Since we're not from Philadelphia, we had no idea who to call so we looked on Angie's List. Due to all the positive ratings and comments from customers, we took a chance on East Coast and crossed our fingers. One of the techs, Mike, responded immediately and was courteous, professional and more importantly, treated us like human beings. He said they had several emergency calls ahead of us but was going to check the schedule immediately and call us back. Just a few minutes later, Tony called us with a time to expect the tech and gave us his cell phone number in case of any problems. He was also a professional and a gentleman. The tech showed up exactly on time and gave us an estimate to fix it right on the spot. The system is so old that we were expecting to have to order parts but they had everything they needed and he gave us an estimate for a completely reasonable about that we thought would be much higher. Flash forward a few hours and we were up and running again! Not only did Mike fix the problem but he performed some maintenance on the system while he was at it - and came in UNDER BUDGET! I can't tell you how RARE it is to have such a positive experience with a company from first phone call to completion. So much so that you're actually HAPPY to pull out your credit card!! I hung up the phone and immediately logged on to sing their praises. I will never call anyone else and all the positive reviews are completely understood now. It's totally warranted.

They came immediately and on time--ECC is very professional, and the gentleman, whose name I failed to get, went out of his way to be of help though as it turned out this was really not an HVAC issue. In fact, it was nobody in particular's issue since the pvc pipe from the exhaust fan was hooked up to a sewage stack, which is like a centaur: half HVAC, half plumbing. Anyway, he went up to the third floor roof on this snowy cold day to check the stack, he opened up the wall still more, took off as much as he could of the pipe (difficult to reach because it was installed in a soffit) and stuffed and capped it temporarily. He said I needed to get a contractor to open up the soffit in order to remove the rest of the pipe and cap it at the stack and then, if the contractor couldn't cap the stack himself, I should call ECC back and they would come out and do it. He was super nice, professional, kind, smart, and neat as a pin, which is exactly how everyone at ECC was last summer when they installed my central air. The short story: he stopped the leak and told me what I needed to do, and charged me only $81 for his work and time and diagnosis.

Arrived early. Difficult installation--had less than one-inch margin to pass 350-pound unit through doors and tight hallway. At one point had four guys working on installation. Cleaned up nicely afterward. (I'd used them three years earlier to install my home heater/boiler.)

I contacted East Coast Comfort in September for work on our furnace. We wanted the air intake set up to pull air from the outside and to see what other ways we could improve our indoor air quality in the home. This was both to improve the musky smell we were noticing and to try to improve the air quality for my daughters allergies. Tony came to our house and was very helpful. He went over the different options that could improve the air quality and broke them out in the quote so that we could calculate how much different pairings of these options would be. The work was done pretty quick (less than two weeks from when we signed the proposal). Tony was very helpful in the interim. We had several quotes and were comapring information and during that process we emailed Tony several times with questions we had about maintenance, as well as other products out there. He was always prompt with his responses and very informative. It took us a while to write this review because we wanted to wait some time before writing a review so that we could assess the air quality in the home. We are very impressed with the air quality improvement. Before they did their work our house had a musky smell. That smell has since not shown up. My daughter's allergies seem to be doing well with the bigger air filter, though that one will take a few more months to truly evaluate. All in all it was a very positive experience. The person that came out for the install was very professional and did a great job. Definitely will contact again.

It went great, they were out the next day. Very professional, explained everything in words I understood. Kept work area organized and cleaned up properly after complete. Plan on using them again!

The service and installation was good. The unit has not had any problems since the replacement.

Tony and his team were punctual, professional and courteous. The work site was always clean. I was always aware of the status of the job.

We use them quite a bit. They were just great. They were an A all the way across. They were on time. They gave a good estimate. They came when they said they would. They were very professional. Everything works properly. They're just great.

With the mercury plummeting this week, it couldn't have been a worse time to need a heating system repair. All the HVAC companies were slammed. Other companies I'd used before were booked into next week, but Lisa was kind enough to find an opening on East Coast Comfort's schedule for a same-day repair of my leaking pipe. I am very grateful for that. This wasn't an easy repair. The leaking pipe was located in a difficult to reach spot behind a joist in my basement ceiling by the foundation wall where a torch couldn't be used safely. In spite of the obstacles, my technician, Tony, managed to quickly and efficiently cut out the leaking copper pipe and replace it with a section of PEX coupled together with brass snakebites. The old pipe had been wedged tightly against concrete causing rubbing and corrosion which is almost certainly what led to its failure. The replacement pipe will not have that problem. Tony was punctual, professional, wise, modest, and personable. He explained what he was doing at every step of the way. And the bill was beyond reasonable. East Coast Comfort has just won a new customer.
