I have used this company before with little trouble until now. In the past I was in contact with the company to come to service my unit and scheduled an agreed upon time for them to do the work. I was prepared for those visits financially and physically. I was never on an "auto service" plan. I got home from work around 6 PM the other night and found a bill for $492.60 stuck in my door and my inside only cat was outside the house (he could have died on the road). He had been out for the entire afternoon. They entered my basement WITHOUT my permission to do servicing that I did not request!! I was VERY upset and immediately left a firm phone message and an email stating I wouldn't pay this bill and it was NOT OK with me in the least!! This was trespassing. I got 2 lengthy emails back the next morning that made me even angrier. They actually wanted to schedule me next week so they could come back to my house to UNDO the work that was done even though there was much complaining about all the time they lost (3 hrs) and the cost of the gas, by coming to do the service call. They admit to making a mistake by putting me into their "auto-schedule purple" even though I have never been on an "auto schedule" due to economic reasons. Apparently they didn't seem to think the cat escape was a big deal...but it was. I was VERY upset and felt violated. I can't imagine what would possess them to do this without an appointment due to the distance. There was no signed contract whatsoever. I was also guilted into accepting the mistakenly performed service with preachy information about the health hazards I am incurring. That was not new information. I was even given information about another similar business I could use and how expensive they are compared to them!!!!! I am supposed to understand their error. I was offered a payment plan for services I did not authorize! I may have been amenable to paying for the cost of the softener salt if the tone of the email was not so aggressive with "apologetic" being a close third. Very poor customer service.
