I had an HVAC company offer to clean my carpets after staining them while moving a malfunctioning furnace out and a new one in. I found Thomas' on Angie's list and was thrilled with the reviews, so I e-mailed them right away and got a hold of John the owner. He transferred me to Ken since he was going out of town for a bit. I spoke with Ken over the phone who was not overly friendly or seemingly interested in receiving my business. Perhaps he was just exhausted from all the business they already have judging from the reviews. Nonetheless, I needed to schedule the cleaning, so I was quoted $150 and an additional $15 for a odor neutralizing in one bedroom. So, we scheduled the carpet cleaning for a week later, a friday from 12pm-1pm time slot. The tech arrived a couple minutes before 12pm and was ready to work. I was a bit put off though when he asked where my hose spigot was, he told me that they have one truck that has a water tank on it but that is it and his does not. Living in the City of Philadelphia my water charges are unsightly (about $100-150 per month for two people in a brand new, energy efficient house with an instant hot water heater). In my conversations with John and Ken, the topic of water never came up.. No one bothered to mention that my own water would need to be supplied and furthermore no one said that I would pay less for using my own water than someone who received a tech whose truck had a water tank. I called Thomas' and was told that the machine uses about 40-50 gallons of water, and that the owner would be calling me on Monday when he returned about the water charge. Also, my invoice showed 3 bedrooms even though my email and in my telephone conversation with Ken I stated two. Fortunately, the tech took $25 off the bill and said they usually charge $25 per room. The invoice said $119.95 plus tax for 3 bedrooms, which to me if you do the math: $119.95 + 7.20 (tax) = 127.15 divided by 3 is $42.38 per room not $25, a difference of almost $20. Overall, once we got the outside hose spigot thawed, the process took about an hour for the whole thing and it looks fantastic! The tech told me we will need to stay off the carpets for 4 hours and then can walk on it with socks over the next 3-4 hours and then it will be completely dry (about 7-8 hours). I am excited to have carpets that look brand new and a puppy room that no longer smells like stinky puppy. In conclusion, because I love how great my carpets look, I would be glad to change this review to all A's if I were to receive some sort of resolve about the water situation when I speak with the owner on Monday. I recommend this company's work, it just would be great if they discussed the water thing during the quote process so that people aren't paying the same price, while some get the water free and some pay for it out-of-pocket.

I spoke to the owner over the phone, who was able to give me an excellent price for his services based on my description of the job, the carpet and tile, and the dimensions of the rooms. The employee who performed the services was exceptionally careful about furniture, did a perfect job of cleaning both carpets and kitchen tile, and explained precisely (and, it turned out correctly) the drying time---quicker than prior and less successful jobs that we'd had done with other companies---and the steps to take as it dried. The carpet and tile both look wholly new again. This is a professional, skilled, courteous, and thorough company.

I contacted Thomas Carpet Cleaners based on their very good reviews on the List. I applied to get a quote on their website and the owner got back to me same day- within a couple hours actually. He gave me a quote sight unseen based on my description of what we needed done. Just based on my own schedule I waited a few days before making an appointment, but when I did so they were very helpful and efficient. Our 'technician' (Bob) called me the morning of the appointment to tell me he was on his way, although he did get stuck in traffic. I won't fault him for that, and he was very apologetic. He did a very good job, cleaning an entire basement apartment suite in about 45 minutes, and taking a mover-shoe stained carpet back to pristine white. He also went out of his way to make sure not to let our cat out, and told me that none of the products he used would be harmful to people or pets. Not necessary steps but appreciated. Once he was done, the bill was for exactly what I was quoted, plus tax. I am not sure how they deal with people that underestimate the task when asking for a quote, but I like that they stand by their original estimate. I should also note that the bill was quite reasonable, especially compared to some of the bigger name companies who also have a minimum job amount. Given the excellent job they did and the very reasonable price, I'd hire them again and recommend to someone looking for this service. They may be coming back in the near future for a full house cleaning.

They were not only able to perform the service on the day that I needed them to, but even at the hour that was most advantageous for us (just after settlement). While it would have suited their schedule to come the next day; they bent over backwards to satisfy our needs. The carpet cleaning specialist was prompt, and went to work in an efficient manner. The work was done as requested. The carpets came out even better than we imagined. I had called the day before to add the sofa, which they easily accommodated. As the Realtor for a home seller, I needed to have the carpeting professionally shampooed as part of the sale of a home. Based on reviews on Angie's List, I emailed Thomas Carpet Cleaning with a description of the job. They promptly emailed me back with an estimate for the work, which included a discount because the home was empty of furniture. We scheduled an appointment which met our deadline for completing the work. Steve arrived on time and went to work quickly and competently. He did a fabulous job removing the stains and the carpets looked like new. Cost was as quoted. I would definitely call them for any future work.

I called the company and received a prompt return call from owner. He gave me the price over the phone and scheduled a date for service which was also prompt. My experience with Thomas Carpet Cleaners was excellent, and I would happily refer them.

I requested a quote on their web site. Within an hour I got a call back. I was given a very reasonable quote and an appointment was set for later in the week. Mark, the service tech, showed true professionalism when he called to tell me hed was running late, so no problem. The job he did absolutely amazed me. Our carpets had not been professionally cleaned in years with black wear marks in heavily used areas. We really thought that the carpets were beyond hope and would need replacing. We are thrilled that now we don't need to go carpet shopping. The price at the end was exactly as quoted. I will definitely use Thomas Carpet Cleaners again.

My request for an estimate via their website was responded to within 2 hours and John was very fair in the price he quoted and was able to make an appointment for 2 days later. Steve, who cleaned the upholstery and carpets, was very prompt and professional. He completed the job within the estimated time and was very pleasant. Steve even cleaned the scrap piece of carpet we leave at the front door. I will definitely use and recommend Thomas Carpet Cleaning.

Called on a Wednesday, and was able to get an appointment for Saturday. The cleaner was exactly on time. He was very professional and courteous. He took great care and time in cleaning the carpets, and they look really clean and bright.

Hello:Sent an email to Thomas on Thursday 08-23-2012 to see if they could come as soon as possible to my property to clean the carpets. He called me the same day and left a message. He also emailed me. Friday we spoke and I told him it would be nice to see if he could come out on Saturday 08-25-2012 to clean the rugs. He was very proffesional and stated he will get back to me, due to short notice, but reasure me that if Saturday was not possible, Tuesday would be good. Within the afternoon he notified me that Saturday will work, and the tech will be at the house between 12:00 and 1pm. At 12:45pm Bob arrived.Bob did a fantastic job. He was very proffesional, told us what he was going to be doing. Also told us about savety issues due to the wet rugs. He also presented us with the free shampoo bottle and told how to use it.He was very nice. He did an amazing job. Rugs look new and took out all the stains.High Recommend them.

The apartments included 3-4 bedrooms and living room. Thomas Carpet cleaning brought fans to dry the carpets which was a plus and left the necessary fans for an extra day to ensure that the carpets were dry. An all around good experience. Recommended to friends.
