Great job. The work turned out to be more complex than the installers expected, however, they kept on the job until finished about 6:30 at night. I could not have asked for more.

Replaced Old rusted Underground 300 Gallon Propane tank with new 500 Gallon Tank. Replaced all the lines to the house and regulators etc. Filled the Tank at $1.25 per gallon compared to Amerigas which has been charging me $4.00 per gallon despite record low oil prices. They were very flexible and helpful as I waited for Amerigas to remove their old tank. They provided a temporary tank so Amerigas wouldn't be needed to fill their tank again. Everyone who showed up on the job was very respectful, friendly, professional in attitude and appearance. They listened to my concerns and requests and did what I asked.

Worst experience EVER DO NOT USE GREAT VALLEY PROPANE! Jim was a good salesman, but unfortunately he only sells lies. Lie number 1 - Our company takes pride in installing everything to code every time. While monitoring the technicians during the install I had the pleasure of watching them back fill a trench that had not a single point that was the required 18" in depth. Lie number 2 - We will show up with all the proper equipment to get the job done up to code. When I ask his technicians why they did not dig deep enough? They informed me that they did not bring a trencher and could not cut through the roots in my backyard. Lie number 3 - The signed contract. Although I signed and agreed to a contracted price and service, I was told that for the work to be completed up to code it would be an additional 300.00. Lie number 4 - If you have any issues you can reach me directly and I will help. After voicing my concern to Jim regarding the work and the additional cost, Jim suddenly stopped returning my calls and emails. It wasn't until I started calling the office everyday for a week that he finally came to me with a resolution. Jim's idea of a resolution was to "split the difference" and only charge me $150 more than the contracted price because his technicians came to a job with out the proper equipment to safely complete the job. I wish I could say that the issues stopped there, but they did not. By the time everything was "resolved" a month had gone by and we were in need of a refill. This service was done promptly and billed immediately. Upon reading the bill my wife notice that they had billed us 3.20 a gallon when the going rate for propane is currently 2.89. When my wife called and spoke with Amy, she was extremely rude to her and had no explanation for the over charge. I can only speculate it is to make up for "splitting the difference" on the install. Shortly after their phone conversation I received and email from Amy apologizing for the error. This could have been the olive branch we needed to continue business with them, but at the end she added the following: I want to make some clarification with the install that was done on 12/11/2014. All of our installation technicians are trained and highly qualified for the jobs. A trencher would not have gotten through the roots on your property. Our men showed up with the proper equipment and went out of their way to make sure that the work done on your property was completed and up code. I guess lying to the customer is a office standard with Great Valley Propane. The only problem is they didn't inform their technicians of the lying standards. BOTTOM LINE THIS IS THE WORST CONTRACTOR EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AND AM TERMINATING MY CONTRACT IMMEDIATELY.

Jim Bernhardt came by and recommended the Will Call plan since I described how I wanted to know what the price per gallon and delivery date was ahead of time. He gave me a price guarantee of $1.799/gal on my first delivery, which will likely be in June 2015. I contracted with Great Valley because AmeriGas charged me $4.34847/gal on 235 gallons 12/26/2014, for a total price $1039.96. IN OTHER WORDS I EXPECT MY HOME FUEL COSTS TO BE CUT IN HALF! According to eia.gov the wholesale price of propane is $0.664/gal in PA. That leaves room for a profit at $1.799/gal, but $4.34847 is out of line.
Description of Work: Services were provided in the sense that I received a signed contract with a price guarantee of $1.799/gal on first propane delivery. Assuming 250 gallons, I expect to pay approximately $500.00 in June 2015

They are pretty good. They take the work out of it for you. They are very reliable. They show up when they are supposed to. They often know our propane tank is empty before I know the tanks are empty.
Description of Work: They service our propane tanks. It was $180 to fill our 80 tank.
