I wasn't sure if we needed a valve replacement or a new heater. I called this morning and they answered professionally and quickly. They were able to come out and replace our water heater after inspecting it and explaining all of our options. The serviceman was professional, punctual, and respectful. I called the office to pay the bill and again was treated as a valued customer . I would definitely recommend and use them again in the future. Very pleased overall with this company.

Excellent, show up on time, worked quickly and even showed and fixed a corroded drain pipe under my kitchen sink.

The gentleman who did the estimate was prompt, explained the details of the system, and delivered several options in the estimate, high to low. We selected one, and the technicians came two weeks later. There was some minor confusion about the placement of the unit in the attic, but that was resolved quickly with a phone call. They were at the house for about 6 hours for the installation. They completed the iinstallation cleanly, laid down tarps up to the second level, cleaned up all of the debris, including removal of the old equipment. The only thing that I need to do afterward was to wipe a few fingerprints away. The new unit is considerably quieter, and more efficient. Overall we were extremely pleased with the experience.

The estimator came out right away once we called and took a look at our problem. He was very courteous and professional, he gave us a written estimate in a timely fashion. However, we received a lower bid from another Angies list member and used them instead. Although we did not use them for our repairs we would highly recommend their company.

I called H.L. Bowman up and they responded within one day. They had a service representative out and he fixed the problem within an hour and then did extra work i was having problems with. He fixed the broken pipe to my clawfoot tub and then connected the new sink to my bathroom and fixed a leaking line in the basement. Their prices were extremely reasonable . Overall.. i found the experience very satisfying. I will definitely be calling this company back again.

I had a toilet which rocks slightly, and I unsuccessfully tried to repair it twice over the years. So, I finally decided it was time to hire a professional. HL Bowman was able to schedule on a day that worked for me and gave me a window of either 7:30 to 11:00 or 11:30 to 4:00. I chose the later and they arrived around 2:00. The gentleman worked quickly and didn't mind that I watched. My condo is on the second floor with concrete dividing my place from the one below me. After remove the toilet, he sawed off the damaged plastic pipe that stuck out of the concrete. He then pulled a metal ring off a piece of replacement pipe, placed it over the pipe opening on my concrete floor, drilled holes into the concrete, and then screwed it down. It no longer appears to be rocking so...so far, so good. I gave a "B" for price, because the total was $174 before the Angie's List discount. The invoice was not itemized, so I'm not exactly sure how the total was derived. The materials included the metal ring and a new fitting for the water hose. Since it took less than an hour to complete, and not knowing the hourly rate, the price seemed a little high.

Called company and told them I needed a plumber to determine what was causing high water bills. Even though it was not an immediate emergency, they had an appt open the next day. They told me their prices so I could have a generic estimate and decide if I wanted the appt. They called right before appt so I could run home from work. The plumber was extremely knowledgeable and polite. He diagnosed the problem within the first 10 minutes and told me what needed to be done. He made the repairs quickly. There was no mess when he left. Paid by credit card at my house - nothing could be easier. Extremely satisfied.

It went well. They figured out the issue with 10 minutes and had everything completed with 20 minutes. Tony was on time and very friendly. Showed me the repair and advised I would received a receipt via mail.

Great, took no time to determine it was the way the A/C was set up to drain condensation, rerouted drain pipe to a proper location.

Service call was for dryer duct cleaning for gas dryer in 8 year old home

Was there the day after my initial call for the estimate which we had the next day (Friday) and they were there at 8 AM Monday morning to do the job.The ejector pump in my basement was failing and the valve itself was cracked. Replaced all parts in under two hours. Was very polite and professional and CLEAN! What could be a really icky job was done very well.I am very pleased.

I emailed office. Received call on Monday morining early. After conversation arrangement was made to take of as soon as she could get serviceman free. Received a call shortly, went home from work, serviceman arrived promptly. Went right to work, discovered problem. Discussed what to do. I decided to replace whole unit. Tony called office while I was there, I chose AO Smith water heater. I left for work and it was all taken care of. Old unit removed, area cleaned up.

I found HL Bowman on Angie's List and contacted them to repair my jacuzzu tub. The receptionist told me they had a jacuzzi tub specialist and she would see if he was available. I forget the gentleman's name. In any case when she got back on the line she said I can send Tony out, I didn't know he worked on those tubs too. Perhaps that should have been a red flag for me, not sending out their jacuzzi tub specialist. The guys got here in a matter of hours, Tony and his trainee were very friendly the entire time. I told the guys it was probably the pump. Now I knew they charged in quarter hours and I really didn't want a big bill to tell me wha I already knew. I had been told it was an $83 minimum just to have them come out. the guys got to work and insisted early on that wasn't the pump there was some kind of airline or vaccuum issue. I continued to let then do several things since they kept leading me to believe they were close to fixing the problem. In the end they couldn't and they told me it was the pump. The had worked for almost two hour. They gave me a break on their mobilization fee, however I still received a $160.20 bill to tell me what I already knew. They took numbers off the pump etc. They would find a replacement. they seemed ot strugggle with that. They sent someone back two days later to take pictures and to find more information. So several days after the first visit, I received a poorly written estimate from Dennis Enders to replace the pump for$808.00! I say poorly written since it did not indicate any information on the pump, not a model number, not an horse power, nothing. No estimat on time install the the pump, etc. In my own professional experince I find estimates like this are usually trying to hide something. I was stunned by the price, new tubs with pumps at Home Depot sell for only a few hundred more dollars. Obviously installation isn't in that Home depot price but GEEZ!I replied to the email that contained the estimate asking for a pump model name and number . That's when they made me even more upset. The response was that they worked six hours trying to find the pump etc but would not give me specifics on it. I made the request again. they called me and said all we have is a product code number from our distributor. I requested they call the distributor and ask him for a model name and numberr I'm sure he has it. This gentleman, I'm assuming who was Dennis Enders, had lost sight of the fact he was going to charge me not $808, but $968.20 (with the previous $160.20 fee for wich I received nothing) to replace a jacuzzi tub pump. That's outrageous. He offered me a disocunt but it was only $100. It appeared to me that HL Bowman wanted to charge me for the alleged six hours to find a pump and then some. I've been on line I see all sorts of jacuzzi pumps for sale between $250 and $450. All I want is a small 1 Horse Power Pump, the low end of the range. I was extremely disappointed with an Angie List pick in HL Bowman. Their response reminds me of urban legands you hear about greedy aggressive billing lawyers charging you for everything including the ten minutes they thought about your case while they drove to their office. They lost sight of the fact that I could be a repeat customer, that they already had billed me $160.00 to tell me something I told them over the phone when I first called. When you have distributors how is it you spend six hours finding a pump anyway? You send them pictures and numbers and you get a response. It was such a bad experince it has me questioning the effectiveness of Angie's List even. I suggst you stay clear of HL Bowman.

Quite simply the best plumbers EVER!

After rather disastrously attempting to replace a shutoff valve I called H L Bowman and they were able to quickly dispatch someone to correct my error. While they were there they also installed the new toilet I had purchased. They were exceptionally courteous and efficient. There is no doubt in my mind that I will use them for all future plumbing needs.

The plumber arrived on time, asked a few questions and looked at the toilet. He ran the snake down but before left he flushed it several times to ensure it was working properly. He was professional and courteous. I paid $70 including the Angie's List discount (they charge a flat rate which includes 30 minutes and travel time, and then charge every 15 minutes thereafter). Would definitely use them again.

2 days later noticed the toilet leaked. I called . The same plumber that installed the toilet came the same day I called and fixed the issue. No additional fee. Very happy with my new toilet. Will need to upgrade my other one soon ( got a taller toilet so now the other one seems soooo low to the ground). I was not given an estimate prior to services performed but I had a rough idea based on what I had read here and was not shocked by the bill. Actual bill was mailed to me. Felt a bit odd paying without getting any kind of a receipt at the time of payment. I would call H L Bowman again

Called on Thursday and they came in Friday morning. They arrived within the one hour timeframe they gave us. Completed the work within 2 hours and it was well done. Service was very professional. Our only issue was pricing. This company has a $90 fee if they use your materials as opposed to theirs and we were not informed at the time of the initial call. However, when we discussed the situation with the company, they promptly and professionally resolved the situation by eliminating that fee over the phone while the plumber was still at our home. They also apologized for the misunderstanding. I suggest you also ask about exact travel fee, as it seems to vary based on your location. Our experience was great and would highly recommend this company. They also cleaned the area afterwards. They honored the 10% Angie's List coupon. Paid $192 after the coupon for 2 hrs of work, ,materials and travel time.

Excellent job from start to finish. You won't be disappointed.

Left a message late Saturday night for a shower leak. They called first thing Monday morning, came shortly thereafter. Leak fixed by 10:00.

They are an ‘A’ too. I have them out all the time for whatever plumbing problem I have and that includes my furnace. They are very good. I have an old house so they are here a lot.
