Tony, the plumber, is always assigned to my home during a service call. This creates a relationship versus just some random worker showing up at your home. His work is top notch and he is quick and reliable. I would highly recommend him.

Work was completed in a timely manner. Service was great and pricing was good as well.

They told us what their trip and hourly rates were and we made an appointment. They showed up on time and fixed all the plumbing problems quickly and efficiently and their billing was less than expected. They told us the hot water heater was due for a replacement (we already knew that) and offered some suggestions. We told them we wanted to do our own research online and they had no problem with that. We took their suggestions, did our research , and decided on a new hot water heater and called them back. They were able to get that heater at a lower cost than we were able to get and delivered/installed it the next day. They had a minor wiring problem because the heater had a different hookup to allow for a panal add-on but they sent another electrician out the same day and had everything completed by that evening at no additional charge. They did a great job on delivery, installation and took the old heater away for us. Would recommend them very highly based on our experience and plan to use them in the future for our plumbing needs

Seemed knowledgeable about installing a steam furnace, too bad I never received an estimate. I did call again for an estimate and was told it was on its way. Too bad they seemed the most knowable

I was very fortunate that the same guy came both times that they did work. He was very prompt. They got me on their schedule very quickly. The guy, when he comes here, works very fast so that he is not racking up labor charges. He doesn't waste a lot of time, he doesn't stand around talking or anything like that. He is highly efficient. He comes in, gets his work done and he is ready to go.

Company that installed system could not come the day I called. Went to Angie's list. Selected Bowman, they came the same day. Upon arrival, quickly resolved the problem.

I was very impressed by their prompt response, and they even seemed to be sensitive to my need for them to hold to cost down as best they could. It still cost $500 to repair, and that pinched, but it was a necessary fix, and I'm glad it's done ... and HL Bowman did it.

I liked everything. He cleaned up and did a very good job.

They did really good quality work and are very good They actually gave us a quote ahead of time and they stayed with the quote there were no increases. They are very responsive. I would definitely use them again.

Overall I am very happy with the service and price. He came on time for the appointment and was finished in just over an hour. Everything has worked well. The faucet is wonderful and he did a great job installing it. The toilet is no longer leaking, so the seal is perfect! I can't say enough of how pleased I am with their work. I picked them because of the reviews on Angie's List and obviously everyone is stating a true fact that they are rated an "A". They did give me the 10% Angie's List discount, too.

After having our former plumber retire, we went with a big name new plumber for a minor issue, and ended up paying an arm and a leg for something extremely minor! After that experience, we decided it was time to join Angie's list and officially find a decent plumber; one we could rely on time and again and not have to take out a second mortgage just to pay the bill. Needless to say we were not disappointed in our find. One of the best reviews for plumbers was HL Bowman and after our experience, we understand why. After speaking to an extremely friendly customer service rep, we were told that someone would be out the next day and at the latest, 2 days. The customer service rep was upfront with their pricing and even reminded me that I was owed a 10% discount for finding them on Angie's list. We were pleasantly surprised when Bowman's called the next morning and showed up at 8:30, much earlier than expected. The plumber came, fixed the problem immediately, and our total bill was HALF of what we paid our previous plumber, considering both issues were minor ones and neither was a plumbing emergency or large project. We were so satisfied with Bowman's, we just had to take the time to write this review, something we don't normally do. Keep up the great work.

My kitchen faucet and sprayer were non functional on a Thursday and I had company coming for the weekend, I called Tina and she was able to get Tony over to fix the sink the next day. I had to work all day but I just needed to let him in the house and he did the work splendidly. The Fluidmaster was an extra that I asked him to do and he had no problem accomplishing this task. I have used this company twice before so I knew they would do quality work at a reasonable price. I highly recommend them.

The service man showed up on time and was friendly and professional. He knew his way around the oil boiler to service the chimney, the dirt in the water jacket, change the oil filter, gun nozzle, etc. The only thing I wish he could have done, or helped me do would be to blow down the boiler. Very few people know how to work with steam heat any more and blowing down a boiler affects the efficiency of the whole system as much as anything else. This detail aside, his service was no-nonsense and to the point. For all other systems, I recommend him.

If you can believe this, one of our grown kids home during the holiday break managed to flush the toilet paper spindle (spring loaded rod that holds the toilet paper) down the toilet. Needless to say, it blocked the flushing capability about 99%. The toilet would flush, but the bowl filled up to the top with water then slowly drained - but the toilet was unusable. I tried the homeowner go-to-Lowe's thing to get something to try and fish out the spindle, but no joy. The toilet was unusable. I checked Angie's List and looked for plumbers who may have done residential work like this and found H.L. Bowman. They had received good marks, so I gave them a call and left a message. Their Angie's List page also had an email link and I sent an email describing the problem. I got a call from them on a Friday and they said they could come Monday at 8:00 a.m. I said 'great'. At 8:00 a.m., their service representative (John) showed up right on time. He was an excellent representative for the company - professionally dressed and cordial. Also, he showed great restraint by not laughing in my face when I told him what the problem was. He went up to the bathroom in question and spent about 20 minutes with his special tools and actually pulled out the broken spindle and the spring, clearing the line completely. Also, he inspected the internal tank and noticed that the components were in a poor state (rusted, etc.). He asked if I wanted him to fix this issue and I said yes. He had the parts on the truck. He fixed everything in short order. His total time in the house was approximately 45 minutes. When he told me the final price, I about fell over...because saying it was fair would be a severe understatement. Considering I had a plumber drive about 30 minutes to get to me, spend 45 minutes in the house, fix the problem, and replace some additional parts...if he'd said you owe me $400, I would've not been shocked and, of course, been obliged to pay it. The final bill was about $128. I can tell you this company is legitimate, not looking to take advantage of your situation, superbly fair in price, and professional across the board. Without question, I will use them for any and all future issues that may arise within their capabilities. I absolutely recommend calling them if you have any residential issues in the plumbing arena. They are what Angie's List is all about, I think.

Called for service, was told that estimator would call me back within the next 24 hours. Phone call never returned.

When the call was made they were pretty busy and said that they would not be out until the next day. I was anxious because we had no cooling in the house. However later in the evening they call and said that they can come out at the end of the day and take a look. Very professional service. Did extensive tests and took time to explain what was happening. After an hour of diligent testing HL Bowman discovered that a capacity blew. He happened to have one in the van and within 10 minutes, cool air was flowing again. Afterwards when he got the compressor operating I realized that he was not completely satisfied and did additional testing over and beyond what was necessary, even though it was late in the day. He determine that my fan would also need changing. He gave me the option to do so or buy another unit (my unit is about 10 years old). They came back the next morning and checked it again just to make sure all was well. They left me some decent quotes on just replacing the fan or the entire unit. (I declined both options). I like the fact that they automatically did not push to replace the unit to make another sale. They worked hard to see if the problem was solvable without undue expense. I will definitely use them again and will call them out next year to replace the unit once I have budgeted.

Great fast professional service

After an initial delay of about two days, a tech came to my home to inspect my air conditioning. He said the system was performing well and he gave me recommendations on how to improve the cooling. A plumber came to the house to inspect my drains. He discovered the problem and solved it. The work he did and the clean-up after was excellent.

When we discovered the leak to the furnace, we checked Angie's list to find a local plumber. We called HL Bowman based on the review. When we called, an appointment was scheduled for the following day. We were extremely pleased with the work. We will be needing additional plumbing work done shortly and will not hesitate to call H.L. Bowman. The only complaint that we had was being charged an hour travel time when we live in Harrisburg and the business location is also in Harrisburg. However, we did receive a discount for using Angie's list and the charge for the service was reasonable.

I wasn't sure if we needed a valve replacement or a new heater. I called this morning and they answered professionally and quickly. They were able to come out and replace our water heater after inspecting it and explaining all of our options. The serviceman was professional, punctual, and respectful. I called the office to pay the bill and again was treated as a valued customer . I would definitely recommend and use them again in the future. Very pleased overall with this company.
