TThis company was recommended to us by our auto mechanic because he felt our car needed some electrical/computer work. They listened to the symptoms from both my husband and I. They called 2 days later and said they'd found the problem and corrected it, but their was still a light flashing on the dashboard. I told them it was okay, as long is that wasn't the reason it wasn't running properly. They gave me the final price of around $400. I asked if they inspected and how much--it was around $30 so I said go ahead. When they called me to tell me it was finished (well, we didn't finalize the inspection there because it needed a tire and I didn't feel that I could pay and electrical specialist co. to put a tire on for me) she informed me that the price was now over $600. I almost dropped over! $400 +$30 is only $430, now we are way over $630! She said, "Oh, we found the reason that other light is flashing and fixed it...to the tune of another $200. So, here's the kicker...when I went to pick up the vehicle, I asked to speak to them about this because I didn't think it fair that they continued to do work that I had not okay'd. She got very irate with me and said, "I'll get Mr. Myers. Before he came in, I calmed myself and thought, "I'll state my problem to him in a civil manner and he'll listen". He walked to the counter, pointed his finger at the bill and loudly, with a curled lip, and anger in his tone, said, "That's the price!" I tried to reason with him and he went on a tirade about these new vehicles being so much harder to work on than the older models.....I thought, that's why you're in business cause you now have all these computer and electrical problems to fix! I said that it was not fair that they fixed something else after they'd given me the price and I was happy with that. He said, "Mr. Fodor said 'I want all the lights out in the dash!" I said, "Oh, did you speak to my husband personally?" No, he had not! And I informed him that I know my husband didn't say that because we couldn't care less if there was a light on in the dash as long as there was no related problem....we were just giving all the symptoms so they could figure out why this car was not running properly. He continued his tirade.... I told him he was just not a nice man, and that I'd never be back and paid my bill and left. 3 months later, we are having the same problem again! I sure don't want to go back there but I'd like not to have to pay someone else for a job they were to have fixed. Oh, and just so you know, the flashing lights are still all out in the dash!
Description of Work: Our van, a '97 Chrysler Town and Country, would leave me sit by the side of the road....I'd be driving along and it would lose power, back firing alot. I finally gave up and stopped driving it. My son took my battery to use for a few days since I wasn't using my van. When he put it back in, lights flashed all over the dash, alarms rang constantly--it was really freaky. This auto place said that it was the battery that was causing the original problem and they reset the computer. They found a vent door or something was bad that they had to fix for some of the lights to go out. I don't remember what the $200 thing was that they fixed last. Today, 3 months later, it's doing the same thing again and there is a ckick in the front that sounds like this door popping open and shut when I go around corners and things. My husband called to see if they would stand behind their work and the 'woman' (the owner's wife) got very defensive and said that if it had worked for 3 months then they obviously did their job. I thought batteries carried at least a few years warranties.
