I took great time to choose a new leather loveseat and recliner. I worked with the salesman who convinced me that this one was of top notch quality and would not fade. I work all day, no one sits in the furniture except in the evenings..so I would estimate it gets low use. Most of the time I am alone. All the items have faded and look awful. I am still making payments on the furniture. They tell me the warranty and the extended warranty do not cover fade. They wanted close to $300 to fix it. When I spoke with Lynn in customer service, she said she would go to bat for me, given the cost and consensus that it should not have worn so quickly. They then called again--forgot they told me that, and wanted to know if I was paying for the repairs. I again expressed my concern that NEVER in my life has furniture sustained such damage, and never had I paid so much for furniture. They said they would pay for the labor, not the parts, and now insist that leather fades...I have purchased several thousand dollars worth of items at John V over the years. Never again. The sales people lie, and now I see they do not stand behind their products..I also see that they sell what appears to be an almost worthless warranty and the products clearly do not protect. 2/2014 update--they contacted me after this review and said they reconsidered and would fix the couches. They ordered the new covers from the manufacturer and they came to replace them. Unfortunately, not to JV fault--the covers were the incorrect ones--but they have the new ones on order again and are fixing it free of charge.

It was a good experience. They had good selection of furniture. I would use them again.

The transaction was painful. It literally took 2-3 hours to pull off the transaction. The salesman tried to sell us furniture we did not want. They delivered furniture we did not order. THe quality of what we bought was fairly good. We recently bought a home and the realtor gave us coupons for discounts at John V. Schultz. We threw them away. We also find their advertising blitzes on local tv to be annoying. There is always some huge sale going on, you'd think they were giving the stuff away.

We bought a couch and chair on Feb.21st 2010. We were told that it was on back order and would be delivered to our home the week of march 22/26 with a phone call 2 days before delivery for a time frame. As of noon yesterday( 3/25) We never got a call, We called them and were informed That it was to be shipped from the Manufacturer MAY 22...90 days after I purchased it, They Never even called us to tell us that it would be LATER than expected. We DID get our money back, In Less than a 24 hr period after we found out about the Major delay..I have heard 8 accounts of this happenening to other people from within a 50 mile radius. Very unprofessional...If I would have been making payments on furniture, you dont think they would let me get away with a delay of payment. BEWARE SHOPPERS!!!! I am going to check out the main competitor...Arthur F Shultz.
