PRO FLOOR SANDING

Julio is a true professional. His quote wasn't the least expensive but his timeline to to begin and finish a job and his past reviews were key for me. They arrived everyday on time and worked hard all day discussing every step of the project with me. The floors were completed on time, but I noticed after the last coat that some areas were flawed. I called Julio a few days later, he had 2 men right out to resand and place a third coat on which solved everything!

They did a good job. They had a good price and they were professional, did exactly what they proposed to do. They were on time and everything was good. We got a few other estimates and they were good.

Julio did a great job of taking care to limit the dust throughout the house by enclosing his workers on the 2nd floor. All of the nails were countersunk and filled with patch. There were no issues with the floor and finish in terms of bubbles. The floors came out great. When my wife and I were trying to pick a stain, Julio prepped the floor with 4 different stain colors at no charge. My only negative was that 2 of the bedroom doors that were removed to finish the floors were not re-installed. I did not contact Julio to correct the issue after the last coat dried since I was in the process of painting the entire house and replacing hardware. I'm sure if I had done so, he would have came back. Other then that it was an A+ job and would use him again and recommend him to others.

After calling to make an appt for an estimate, Julio came promptly the next day and we walked through the job. He gave smart and thoughtful suggestions. We planned the work: on arrival day he and his crew reviewed the job before starting, and got to work. They put plastic sheets around all doorways, turned off fans and vents to keep dust to a minimum. We left our home for the week while they worked; I returned a few days after they began and was amazed at how clean my home remained (very, very little dust) and the respect they showed for my home. The floors look AMAZING; they had many watermarks and years of being covered with carpet and resulting stains, but Julio and his crew made them look awesome! They completed the job on the day they said they would be done. Every time I called him to ask a question, Julio responded immediately. Would highly recommend them!!!

They were friendly and professional. They showed up when they said they would, secured their work area so dust would not travel throughout the house, and did an excellent job refinishing our floors over the course of 4 days. When we came back after staying away for the final coats, they had cleaned up and there was no trace of the crews. I will definitely use them again.

My wife and I contacted Profloor Sanding about a price quote to have the floors in our master bedroom refinished. Within a few hours we received a phone call from Julio who gave us the typical cost of refinishing a master bedroom of our size. We were on a very short time schedule and needed to get the work done immediately. My wife and I went as far as preparing the bedroom as best we could. We removed all the furniture and pulled up the old carpeting including the nail strips and staples. Julio and his crew arrived on time and proceeded to prep the room by hanging plastic around each doorway in order to minimize any dust escaping to other areas of the house. The entire project was completed in just 2 days. They were extremely courteous and very attentive to detail. A few areas of the floor had become damaged during the installation of the carpet a decade earlier. Julio was able to repair these without any additional cost. My wife and I are very pleased with the work that was done and will not hesitate to contact Pro Floor Sanding in the future. After almost 2 months the floor still looks great and we are now considering having other rooms in the house done. Pro Floor Sanding would be our first call.

I received one other bid for this project and ProFloor was not only more competitive, but they also mentioned little things that spoke to their professionalism and pride of work. They were prompt & very tidy with the sanding (not much of a dust issue). I have since received many compliments on how beautiful my hardwood floors look. There was a section of my living room where an old wall once stood, and there was no hardwood underneath. Also there were some dark stains, I guess from pets ages ago. ProFloor addressed both of these issues and you could never tell; the floors look great.

Julio and his team were fantastic. Punctual, courteous, CLEAN, and helped moved furniture the first morning. Julio knows his stuff and it was a worry-free experience.

Julio was extremely professional and accommodating throughout the entire experience. He set expectations well, and was extremely considerate of our tight timeline. We did not know when we would close on our house, but knew our timeline was getting tighter to move in date. He began working immediately and worked through Memorial Day weekend. He was extremely dedicated to the project. And, his team was detail oriented. They spent three or four days sanding, including wood filler, and sanded at an angle to ensure the floors were smooth. He then applied one coat. We found it too light, so he applied the second coat. Then, because of our timeline, and the fact that the second coat added to the timeline, he worked through the second weekend to ensure all three coats of poly were properly applied, sanding in between coats. Julio was an absolute Godsend. Using anyone else would have most likely resulted in a less quality job for the timeline, or a delayed move in date.

Geat! Always responsive when date needed to be changed. Arrived as scheduled. Shared information as they went along. Pointed out problems as needed. Finished as promised- and it was on a fairly tight schedule.

I telephoned Pro Floor Sanding and spoke with the owner, Julio Mosquera. After describing to him the room and what I wanted done, Julio quoted me a price of $750 exclusive of any repairs. Julio and his crew arrived at the scheduled appointment time. At that time I requested the replacement of several boards to allow for a firm fit of the baseboard trim to the wall. Julio readily agreed and the repair was completed for an additional $50. The room was sealed off with plastic while the crew worked and very little dust escaped to the rest of the house. When the sanding was completed I was offered the choice of a water-based or oil-based polyurothan finish. Julio and his crew were punctual, worked hard, cleaned up and did an excellent job refinishing the floor.

Job was finished on time. Floors look beautiful and Julio was a pleasure to work with. I would recomend Pro Floor sanding to anyone. Pricing was competitive.

We had three contractors give estimates on the work. All were relatively the same price wise, though, Pro Floor was a little under, but we just had a good feeling during the walkthrough with Julio. He was clearly knowledgable and offered some different options on how to solve a few issues (water stains, gaps by stairs). The process went very smoothly. I feel Julio and his crew did a very detailed job. The issues they fixed including replacing some unrepairable boards could not be recognized now. This is the second time I've had floors refinished (not by Pro Floor the first time) and I'm much happier with the result and communication during the process.

Pro Floor Sanding did an excellent job refinishing our hardwood floors- they turned out beautifully! They were very professional, freindly and they paid a great attention to detail. We would definitely use them again and refer them to friends!

Julio and his team did an excellent job. We recently closed on a new house and pulled the carpets, tact strips and staples ourselves and needed someone to refinish our hw floors before the movers came 11 days later. They came out, leveled every nail, fixed a couple of holes, flipped some boards and sanded and put three coats of poly down. They also added reducers to meet the existing tiles in the house. They were done in 6 days, putting the finals coats of poly down over a Sunday and Monday (Christmas Eve). The floors looks great and I would recommend this company to anyone who asks.

Julio was very professional and a pleasure to work with. Our 42 year old floors look like new. They inbed all the old nails for a tighter floor and take care along the way in doing a very good job. They applied 3 coats of polyurethane and the dust was very manageable. They sealed all rooms surrounding the work area. I would highly recommend.

Julio and his team were fantastic from start to finish. From the initial estimate to the final day of the job, I could tell I was working with someone who was experienced, knowledgable, honest, careful, hardworking, and fairly priced. I got competitive bids, too. One was from a bigger shop that was more expensive, and another was from someone a friend told me was dead cheap - that was more expensive, too! The cheap one immediately came down when I told him Julio's price, but of course we went with Julio, who was honest from the start about his best price. Julio was constantly in touch during the job. He really took the time to explain what was happening, why it was happening, and what decisions he was making. He stayed in constant touch, inviting me into the job site each day, to make sure I was informed and happy with the job. I have no doubt that if there had been a problem, he would have taken care of it, but there weren't any. I've worked with a lot of contractors and this was easily one of the best experiences I've had. So many contractors could benefit from Julio School of Customer Service. And it almost goes without saying: our floors look beautiful! Julio replaced pieces that needed to be replaced, educated me about the state of some of our older sections of floor, countersunk each nail and filled the darkened holes with wood putty, and generally went above and beyond in every category. His wife Vickie runs the home office and she's fantastic, too. This was my first Angie's List experience and I couldn't be happier.

These guys are the real deal. They definitely deserve the high marks on Angie's list. Our ranch style home was built in 1960 with original hardwood in bedrooms, living, dining and hallways. The wood was finished with polyurethane in living, dining and hallways with (removed) carpet over unfinished hardwood in the bedrooms. The kitchen had a couple of layers of linoleum. We had the wood in the three bedrooms sanded and finished with oil based polyurethane. They match the existing hardwood perfectly. Very pleased with how well they came out. We had new hardwood 3/4" installed in the kitchen on top of the old flooring. The impossible challenge is to get brand new wood to match 50 year old wood. The guys worked patiently with us to try different stains and mixes of stain to FINALLY get it as close as possible. It came out very well and you can't tell the difference unless you are looking for trouble. Julio and his guys were professional the entire process and always kept us informed.

Our house, built in 1932, had 5/16 face-nailed hardwood floors with a walnut border and greek knotwork in the living and dining rooms that we uncovered when pulling up the old carpet. The floors looked like they could be beautiful but had pretty substantial pet stains and a section of water damage by one of the radiators. We had a few contractors come over to provide estimates and the feedback from most of them was that the damage was too substantial to repair and stay on budget. One or two suggested they only way to proceed was to stain the floors a dark color. Since we wanted to stay as natural as possible and still retain the contrast of the walnut border we were reluctant to apply a dark stain. When I called Pro Floor Sanding, Vicki was very professional and set up a time for Julio to come look at the floors and talk about options. He arrived right when scheduled and, while he thought the stains and damage were pretty severe, he didnt rule out the possibility that most of them would come out with sanding. He did say that we should prepare for having to stain but he suggested sanding first and then applying a few samples so we could pick the color we were happiest with (i.e., the lightest and most natural). I appreciated his "wait and see" approach compared to the others who just wanted to apply a dark stain right from the start. I was also concerned about how the face-nailing would be handled as some of the nails had started to stick up above the top of the oak strips. He assured me that he would countersink all nails and fill the holes with putty as he felt that was the proper way to finish floors of this type. He said that not only would the floors look better but the countersinking of the nails would take some of the squeek out of the floors. I was relieved to hear that because other contractors didnt seem to want to be bothered with a couple adding that they would charge more for countersinking and filling. That Julio did it as standard practice because he felt it's the proper way to do it said a lot about his focus on quality. I had salvaged some pieces of the same type of wood from another room that we recarpeted. Julio said he could use that salvaged wood to replace any wood that was beyond repair. His total price was $2000 which I considered fair/good as it was in line with the other estimates I received, except that Julio's estimate included the countsinking/filling of nail holes, and installation of quarter round molding. I decided to call Vicki and schedule the work.Julio showed up on time on the scheduled day and went over the job with his employee. Then he talked to me more about the process and had his employee start the rough sand process. I went to work, and when I came back I was amazed to find that the rough sand was done and most of the stains/damage had come out. There were some boards that had to be replaced but Julio reminded me he would just use the boards I had salvaged from another room. Between the success of the sanding and his repairs, we were able to keep the floors natural as originally hoped. Julio recommended us leaving the house for a few days while they put down the oil-based polyurethane mostly because the smell could irritate our young children. So, we decided to leave town for a few days. We gave him a key to the house and let him do his thing. He called often during the time we were away just to provide updates on the job and then again to let us know that the work was complete and we could return. We we got back home we were amazed. The floors looked beautiful. I was very impressed with his craftsmanship and his attention to detail. He had even taped off the rooms with plastic sheeting so the dust didnt spread to other parts of the house. We did find some dust here and there but it was far less than we were expecting we'd have to clean up. The entire process went much more smoothly, and the results were so much better than we could have expected. I would definitely work with Julio again in the future.

Julio came out in May to give us an estimate and expectations. We schedule the service for June. His estimate and timing were exactly what we expected. The floor came out better than we hoped for as they are over 60 years old. Julio and his team did a phenomenal job. We couldn't be more pleased

Working with Julio and Pro Floor Sanding is hands down one of the best contractor experiences I've had in a long time. I'm in property management and I work with many different contractors so for me to make that bold statement says a lot. When I met with Julio to get the quote for service I'd already met with 2 other contractors and I was on the fence and leaning toward replacing all of the flooring. Keep in mind that Pro Floor Sanding installs new hardwood in addition to refinishing existing hardwood floors. Julio could easily have sold me on new flooring that costs 3x what refinishing cost but he didn't - points for having morals! Julio was the only contractor who offered me repair options based on his obvious strong knowledge of flooring; he showed me the areas he thought may need extra work, explained that the wood could be flipped to reveal the other side and he explained the options for products. I was provided a quote after our first meeting. Julio explained the entire process would take a 5 to 7 days and they would have completed in that time frame if it wasn't for the delay on our part when we needed to have some rotted floor joists replaced/repaired. Julio was extremely accommodating for this work to be done even though it slowed them down on our job. When it came to choosing the stain color we were unsure so they put down 5 colors that we chose, and when we weren't sure about those they put down 4 more. They were patient and accommodating through the entire process and Julio always made sure to communicate what was going on. They turned off the heating system so that dust did not get drawn into the system and they took care to clean up at the end of each day so that if it wasn't for seeing the progress with the floors we wouldn't have know they'd been there. The floors came out great! It's an incredible difference from what we started with and I am so happy with the work that was done. I can't say enough good things about out this company and the people who run it - they are true professionals in every way. Thank you Julio and Vickey!

It was a good experience, they covered cabinets and furniture with plastic. The dust was minimized!!

We selected Pro Floor Sanding & Refinishing based on the glowing reports given this company on Angie's list. Happily, we weren't disappointed. We hired Pro Floors to refinish the hardwood floors throughout the first floor of our house--approximately 750 square feet. On the first day, the team from Pro Floors carefully covered and sealed the kitchen, dining room, living room and den areas off from the rest of the house. Each of the following days, the team arrived exactly when the said they would. Throughout the process of refinishing the floors, we were asked to provide feedback and offer guidance. This is not only refreshing, it also contributes greatly to a successful outcome. The Pro Floor team was considerate, pleasant, helpful, and capable. The floors look beautiful !! We are very pleased and grateful to Julio and the Pro Floors team for doing an outstanding job.

Overall the experience was great. Julio and is wife were very responsive from the beginning. He came and gave us an estimate and was very professional and provided a handout with frequently asked questions. We chose to go with Pro Floor Sanding after getting 2 other quotes. His quote was right in the middle of the two. We were away when the work was being done which made me nervous but they took care of our house and locked up. We returned to beautiful hard wood floors. He also fixed a few boards and added a few boards to complete job. My only complaint was that there was more dust than I would have liked. We ended up spending a lot of time cleaning all of our things upstairs because the dust spread. Besides that, the floors look practically brand new and our experience with Julio was excellent.

While Pro-Floor Sanding was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive of the estimates I had received, I am confident that the work was superior and clearly worth the price. The care and professionalism that Julio showed throughout – from his detailed process of estimating, to the preparation, to the sanding, staining, finishing, and clean-up - were absolutely superb. I couldn’t be happier with the work that Julio and his team did. I recommend them most highly.
