I'll give you a skinny overview if you are thinking of using them. The most recent visit for the heater was no problem. I had the gold service plan for HVAC and plumbing for 5 years but just cancelled it. PROS-Large company, good customer service and guarantees, fully staffed, overtime, seem well-trained and professional. As far as I can tell they have done quality work. Should be there when you need them. CONS-Very expensive, sales oriented service staff pushing things you don't need. Wanted to do an expensive leak check for freon or replace my 5 year old AC, then charge me close $200 for up to 2lbs of freon when I needed less than a lb, which I later got for $50lb. 2 years later they changed their mind on the freon leak check, stating it wasn't worth it, so thats good to know, they change a practice if isn't good for the customer. Another issue is their pricing book, it is supposed to be for your benefit, everything is a flat fee. Except when it takes them 15 minutes to do something and they charge you $470 --They were willing to work with me because I was mad after the fact so I will give them credit. Overall -If price is no object and would say go with them as they are super service oriented but because they have a large staff with tons of advertising their pricing is really high. I decided to try smaller family companies rated high on angie list for price and service, with a little more flexibility perhaps on my part.

Started out by responding to a direct mail offer for a free heating system check-up in Jan since my original installer had not made any effort to maintain the system since he installed it 13 years ago. Horizon Tech came out & did a thorough check & performed some minor maintenance & a tune-up(cost $259). In April, Horizon Cust Svc called to schedule an AC check-up which was great since the original heater installer, who also did our AC, had never done any follow up AC maintenance in 13 years. The Horizon AC Tech came out, replaced a few things, added a UV filter for the HVAC, which also led to a discussion indicating the AC was not performing efficiently(700 sq ft of additional living area had been added since the AC was done 13 yrs ago) and during the summer had trouble keeping up. This led to an Horizon estimator coming out a few days later, going over the complete ventilation system, including air in-takes(which our bldr,12 yrs ago, neglected to include in the major 600 sq ft room addition) and laying out a plan to include a new Lennox AC system, 25% more BTU, as well as an in-take in our big "newer" 600 sq ft room. Complete credit was given for the AC maint work on the old system($945) towards the new, much more efficient, & bigger, Lennox system. Horizon installers promptly showed up a few days later & completed all the work...new AC, new in-take, & a more efficient humidifier ...in fine fashion(cost $7555, after $945 credit).

They did an outstanding job, very punctual, polite and caring. They didn't make a mess and are flexible with their schedule. We have had them out to fix a water heater, pump system and other various jobs for us.

They responded quickly on a Saturday to check on a leaking hot water heater. They were not sure if they could replace it the same day. After calling the warehouse to find a similar replacement tank and with help from another employee to deliiver the tank, they were able to finish the job that same day!

Sean, was absolutely great! He was responsive, punctual, and professional. He came to my home and gave me a quote on fixing my garbage disposal. To my chagrin, the quote was $960.00. This is utterly outrageous for a kitchen garbage disposal. He informed me that it couldn't be easily unjammed and we would have to take it apart or replace it. He recommended replacing it. I decided I needed a second opinion. I called another contractor and he fixed in within 5 minutes just by clearing the jam and charged me $65.00. I am disappointed that a business worries more about making a buck then they do about helping a person.

Company does not tell the truth......no one should use a company that has no integrity or reliability.

Overall- outstanding job to Horizon Services. From the first phone call, to the sales rep visit and finally to the installers, I could not be any happier with the support and service I received. We were in the market for a new HVAC system since we purchased our home in October. I spoke with 5 different companies offering a wide range of pricing and brand options and I decided very quickly on Horizon. Some of the other companies did not even get back to me with an estimate. But Horizon was able to offer competitive pricing from the other estimates and flexible financing offers. On install day, the installers arrived right on time and got to work. They very professional and only had a few questions for me, specifically on the aesthetics of the new system. Brian and Chris finished the job in one day, about 12 hours (which I thought was a little longer than I expected, BUT I would rather them take their time and get it right than rush through the job). Brian and Chris then took their time explaining the components and the thermostat- they even helped us program it. One small issue after they left was that we did not have any hot water, which was a minor oversight on their part. When they were hooking up the whole house humidifier, the pilot light went out and didn?t re-light. I attempted to trouble shoot it quickly, but to no avail. I contacted Horizon thinking they could ask Brian and Chris to come right back, however I had to schedule for the next day with a plumbing technician. I was told that he would arrive between 8am-12n on the following day, which happened to be Easter. He arrived, lit the pilot light and informed me that water would be flowing in about 30-45 mins. After an hour, the hot water was still not working and I realized that the valve for cold water intake was closed. I re-opened it and hot water was back. Not sure why the plumbing tech did not realize that. I also noticed a verysmall/slow leak on the connection at the water heater for the water line to the humidifier. I was able to tighten that and the leak stopped. So despite some very minor mistakes, I would recommend Horizon to anyone looking to replace or upgrade their HVAC system

I did not have a good experience with Horizon. That would have been in October. They tried to convince me that I had a bad heater blower. They told me there was oil spray on the bottom of my heater. That piece of metal was covered by cardboard since the day it was put in. I don't know how oil could have gotten on it. They wanted the heater blower replaced. I got a 2nd opinion from another plumber, who said it did not need to be replaced. So I went with them instead. I felt they quote was escalated by them and I would not use them again.

Horizon Services Inc in Wilmington. I used them yesterday. They charged me a fair price. What I really liked about them was they were really courteous, professional. They were clean, they put drop clothes down and wore booties inside the house. They were friendly. They were really good guys.

The service was fine. I had no problems. I would use them again.

It went very well, they always leave an extra filter for my AC.

Horizon is the biggest in the area but I'm not sure why. The technician who came to tune-up my AC declared the entire system (furnace and AC) a total loss. A second opinion revealed his diagnoses was greatly exaggerated. Due to the advanced age of the system I decided to replace it and I had Horizon provide an estimate (one of three). Not only was the estimate three times higher than the one I went with but the salesman was very sleazy offering an 'install tomorrow' price and a much higher 'regular price'. I won't deal with Horizon again.

I called to have an estimate for the work. The plumber came out and looked at the work to be done and gave us an estimate frte work. Said he would be there at 8:30 on March 7. He arrived at 9:10. Did the work and left.

Horizon waived their service call fee and we had a 67.50 coupon which is available monthly. Staff was prompt, put down a drop cloth around the area they were working and cleaned up afterwards and provided additional tips on plumbing questions. Would recommendusing again.

The guys are neat, pleasant and careful with shoes, etc. However, the job was not done well. He could not shut off the water to some of the fixtures, he said the valves leaked through.

Very good experience. Salesman was very knowledgeable and low pressure. He explained all the costs up front and there was no surprises. Installation crew was very professional and left my home as clean as they found it. They explained how the system worked and performed a final walk through with us to ensure we were happy with the work. I truly believe the installation and expertise of the installers is the most important aspect of having the system perform as expected. This was a first class job and we have been very satisfied so far. I would definitely recommend Horizon and we will continue to use them as needed.

They were wonderful. They were one of the highest price wise but I was willing to pay a higher price because of their professionalism.

Plumbing - the final bill for two hours of work was $1167.00. That was the final price after receiving a 15% discount for being a previous customer (HVAC), waiver of the $49.94 dispatch fee and a coupon for $67.50. I was shocked at the estimate before they did the work but with all plumbers I contacted wanting $45-$70 just to come to the house, how many time is a reasonable person expected to pay for estimates for comparison purposes. I contacted Horizon via a letter and promptly received a phone call. The girl I spoke with was great at customer service. Horizon made some concessions concerning their services and I was satisfied with the result. HVAC - we had a new Lennox HVAC system installed as well as a AO Smith propane hot water heater. The installation was good and their clean-up was excellent. The first time I made the demand for heat, the A/C kicked in and it started getting cooler in the house. They came that day and told me they adjusted something on the heat pump. A few weeks later, I again asked the system for heat and got nothing. A technician came out and found a loose wire. We had two service calls for no hot water which were quickly remedied by Horizon. There were also two other service calls for minor things with the HVAC system. I highly recommend the AO Smith propane hot water heater.

The service was excellent overall! They were very clean, professional, and wore covers over their shoes, just like advertised. They were also prompt and provided detailed information with regard to the repairs that were being done.

This was my first time using Angeles List and first vendor I called from it. Based on the positive reviews and on time guarantees, I called horizon for an estimate on a new water heater. They took all my info and scheduled for someone to be at my house today between 8am-12pm. I asked if it would be that long of a wait and the lady on the phone said I would be first on the schedule and to expect them actually between 8am-9am. She told me they would call on their way to my house. It's now 3pm and NO call, NO show. Not a very promising first impression. Glad it wasn't an emergency.
