They replace my kitch faucet and sink trap. They first used PVC plastic pipe on the sink trap. I had to call them back to complain that the pipe was leaking. The returned and replaced the pipe with medal. Also, all fixtures they provide, as well as the workmanship come wiht a lifetime warranty. A little expensive, but worth it, since its a lifetime warranty.

after checking the outside unit, serviceman told me there was no Freon in unit and that repairs would be expensive, better to get new unit as mine was 12 yrs.old. Also called office to have me set up appt. for sale of new unit. After he left, I was not convinced I needed new unit as I had no problems with it. Called a private HVAC company to check unit. New serviceman examined unit and found it full of Freon, no apparent problems, no need to install new unit. Unit has worked all this summer with NOT ONE problem. Therefore, Horizon will never be recommended, used or considered for any work at my home. They misled me and could have cost me a lot of money. NO WAY TO RUN A COMPANY!

Came home from vacation to find oil burner not operating. Inside house temperature was 38 degrees. Having a contract with Horizon called, and made arrangements for a service call. The serviceman arrived at stated time. That was all he did that was correct. He stated that he did not know exactly what the problem was and that it would not be safe to turn on the system in case un-burned oil was in the burner chamber, and that the chamber would have to replaced along with some other items. I cannot recall what items. He then paged thru a parts listing of possible parts and how long it would take to get the parts and when they could be installed. I cannot recall the exact cost, but it was around $2500.00 to $3000.00. I told him I would let him know. I then called my oil supplier, who said they would be there ASAP and check it out. After they arrived the problem was solved with in twenty minutes, and the heat was on. The total cost was $159.00.

Called them a year ago, the weekend before hurricane Sandy. They wanted $1600 for a water heater replacement. Would not negotiate price because they were so busy with all the people getting ready for Sandy (this was 3 days before the storm). This what I was told. I'm writing this now because they have a TV commercial about how they don't charge more for emergencies - total BS. I had another company install the water heater for $900 that same weekend. I also was talking to a coworker who had Horizon look at her air conditioner this summer. They wanted to replace the whole thing for over $3000. She couldn't afford it, so she had another coworker look at it and guess what? It only needed a part replaced. Bottom line - I would not recommend using them.

The annual inspection of the system went fine and the technician was courteous, efficient and prompt. The main issue I have is with the pricing. Our thermostat needed to be replaced and was done so for a cost of $362.00. At the time I thought this was high but needed to get it done in order to proceed with the inspection. After the service was completed I went to Lowe's and purchased the equivalent thermostat for $50.00 and installed it in less than 5 minutes. Fortunately, Horizon does have a policy that allows you to cancel services after the fact provided you didn't sign the form and waive your right to cancel (which I did not sign). I returned the form to Horizon and finally after several back and forth messages was able to finally speak to someone at Horizon. At first, I was told it was not possible to get my money back but then I read the form to the Horizon employee - they contacted their manager and since I did not waive my right to cancel I was able to get a refund on the work. I would recommend that anyone thinking of using Horizon get competitive bids on the work. If you choose to use Horizon I would recommend you do not waive your right to cancel.

Workers were early and spent some time preparing my home with coverings, etc to keep it clean and wore paper booties. I have a townhome and they carried some very large and heavy equipment around the row of homes so they would not damage or dirty my home. Very polite and respectful. Never stopped working-8hours! Answered all questions. Would recommend. However, beware of the salesman they send first. Will stay 2 1/2 hours and try to sell you top of the line everything and the entire system instead of fixing only what is broken and wouldn't give us a price just for what was broken until he was finished with his routine! One more note: They don't come the day you call if they are busy. Horizon commercials stress how many trucks they have and will come any time-=not true. My a/c broke in august. They had too many calls and wouldn't come for a few days.

We called Horizon for an estimate. They arrived within 24 hours and after speaking with them, we decided to accept their offer to put the toilet in on the same day! We had chosen the model we wanted at a local supplier. The servicemen called the supplier immediately to check on their supply, then picked up the new toilet, returned with it and did the installation. They informed us of a discount that was being offered and applied it for us. They were courteous and very helpful but not "pushy". We were impressed with their knowledge and their professionalism. The area was left possibly cleaner than they found it! We would not hesitate to contact Horizon Services for future needs.

Came out to inspect the heating and AC unit, we were told we needed to replace the whole unit and it was just replace in 2005. We were also told we could not use the heat, but in fact that was not the case. Extremely overpriced, we got another estimate for $8000. Later we found out after some digging, the whole unit was under warranty! After inspection by the company only a valve needed to be replaced, NOT the whole unit!

Oh gosh...2.5 hours later, we finally got a quote! The salesman spent about 30 minutes inspecting our existing systems and then sat down and began to scribble all sorts of numbers on paper. None of these numbers have anything to do with price but are what could only be called, "HVAC numbers designed to make the customer get blurry eyed." There is such a thing as too much information and at a certain point, it seems apparent that all this system talk is simply smoke and mirrors. At one point, we were told we would have to have a chimney liner even though the salesman wasn't sure if we had one or not. Funny, but 4 other estimators did not mention this. When questioned about this, the salesman went down the path of "let me scare you with tales of carbon monoxide poisoning." Then, when it came time to finally, actually, get a quote, we got lots of talk of discounts that can only be had if we install tomorrow! At one point, the salesman went outside to speak with his manager to see about additional savings. Truly felt like we were dealing with a car salesman! When we mentioned that we are scheduled to have a new gas meter installed in the near future and wondered how that might affect an HVAC install, he had to step outside and place a call again. When he returned, we were pressured to go ahead and agree to the install immediately and if the new meter install were to create any problems, they would return to fix them. Not something we are willing to do! The entire experience felt like a "Call within the next ten minutes and receive your system at the record price of..." infomercial. We will not be using Horizon!

Description of Work: Horizon came out to do a pre-winter inspection/servicing of our HVAC unit. The service tech barely did anything to the units. Rather, he used the visit as an excuse to make a sales call, frightening me with threats that my family might die of Carbon Monoxide poisoning if I did not replace my furnace. Thankfully, I got a second opinion, who indicated that I should expect at least five years more life from my unit. I spent $60 on extra carbon monoxide detectors for peace of mind. I returned home from a business trip to find low water pressure in the kitchen sink. At first I was afraid it was the well pump, but since all other faucets had pressure, I was not sure. The kitchen faucet pressure was so low, it was nearly impossible to perform kitchen tasks. I called Horizon the next day, and they came out. The service tech, although he could not locate the well, assured me it was not the well pump, rather the hot water heater was old, and the sediment was causing calcium deposits in the sink fixtures. He told me the kitchen faucet was beyond repair and there was no way to fix it. He also noted it was a high end faucet and would cost $1,000.00 just for the fixture. He imparted a sense of urgency to replace the hot water heater ASAP, otherwise, as he stated, all of the other faucets in my house would need to be replaced. So, with the fear of replacing up to 7 fixtures and thinking of the dishwasher in the immediate future, I consented to the work. When the service tech left, the kitchen sink was still running with almost no pressure, he told me I would need to replace it, the calcium deposits may have settled in the hose. That Saturday, my sister came to visit, was astonished by my story, took me to Home Depot, where we were assisted by a very helpful gentlemen, who advised buying a $2.99 (yes, under $3.00) aerator, which FIXED the problem. Shame on you Horizon for deceptive sales practices. I feel as though your service tech determined I was a single working mother and exaggerated the problem, imparting a FALSE sense of urgency in order to close a $3,300 contract. What kind of incentive plan do you have your service people on? Bad business practice. Horrible experience.
