Stan the Hot Water Man

When we first called to request service the call was taken by an answering service (very courteous and professional). We received a call back from the service pro within a couple of hours, and were able to set up an appointment the next day (that exceeded our expectation). We were given a 2 hour window for the appointment, and our contractor showed up towards the end of the window (but definitely well within it). He got straight to work in a professional and friendly manner, described in detail what was going on, and gave pointers on how to keep the unit in optimal running shape in future. He was also friendly to our 2 yr old. The work was completed quickly. We would definitely recommend them.

I had a great experience with them. They were reasonable for an emergency call when the other companies were not. They followed up properly during the week and they didn't make a mess during the installation.

Randy is a great guy; I was so impressed with the person and the work that I felt compelled to make this my first review. This guy is the best...We had him over to fix 2 odor (very minor) gas leaks that we had detected on a new home we just purchased. First, he moved the appt. up a day to accommodate us - which we very much appreciate...then he identified and fixed a recirc. pump -- something I didn't even know was broken...It should be noted that he took it apart and tried to fix it before he replaced it. Then, while reviewing the way the power venting was venting to the outside, he noticed my lack of screens and fixed that as well... 10/10, I can't say enough about Randy...If you want the best, this is your man.

My 20 year old water heater was leaking and I thought it needed replacing. Brian from Stan's Water Heater Company was at my house in under 2 hours after my phone call. He found a leaking flex hose, which he fixed, and my problem was solved saving me between $700 and $1000. Brian also gave me the best price to replace the entire water out of 5 companies I called. This company is great! When I need a new water heater they are the only company I will use.

This company was recommended by another company who couldn't work on the job due to a warranty issue, I believe. I was frustrated that I was initially told he would arrive at noon, but didn't actually get to my condo until 4:45. I understand it was the holiday weekend, but it took two phone calls from me to figure out when he would actually arrive. It would have been better to have updates from the company. The service itself was good.

Company actually answered their phone and was responsive in calling back. They were prompt in scheduling an appointment and arrived when scheduled. They correctly diagnosed and fixed the problem another company missed. I would recommend this company.

The technician they sent out showed up on time. He got the job done quickly. He did what he said he was going to do. He did a nice job cleaning up after himself.

I called several advertised service providers in the area closest to where we live. Most of them gave me estimates on the phone and a time that they could provide the service, none on the day I called. The response from Stan's was similar, but they also advised that they would be happy to stop by (the same day I called them) and look at our situation to make sure. They did call to confirm a time, called again to obtain final directions to our address and then proceeded as described above.

They were everything they advertised to be - there were no surprises, they were quick, and very professional. They were here within 24 hrs, as advertised. They put in a safety feature that wasn't there with the previous water heater. He was very patient with me and answered all of my questions. He was very respectful of my home and cleaned everything up.

He was fine! They were prompt in getting out here and they did the work pretty quickly. He explained to me what was going on in a way that I could understand it. I was pleased with his service.

Called in the evening and answering service picked up the call. Called back the next morning when I had not received a call. Was told the repair person would set up an appointment. He called and set a time. The repair people called again and stated that they had to spend more time than expected on a previous job, but arrived in the late afternoon. They replaced the thermocouple and were on their way in under 30 minutes.

It was fine. They were punctual and thorough. The installation was in a garage that had easy access. I got several bids and theirs seemed reasonable.

Once they got there, the guys were great.

These guys are very solid. I called late at night and they gave me options for after hours service and explained the pricing. They are busy and had to reschedule one of the appointments, but delivered as promised once they came out.

We were pleased with there services. He came out to the house and did his job. He was very quiet. They were very reasonably priced and a lot cheaper than the others I got estimates from.

Scott gave me an estimate on the phone, after I described my situation in detail. He gave me an appointment on the same day, as I informed him that my heater was leaking. He arrived on time and proceeded to examine the new heater and the location where it would go. The old heater had a Pressure relief valve at the top whereas the new one had it on the side. This would require the plumbing to be re-routed. Scott informed me that he would do so within the original estimate! His work was very professional and he is very knowledgeable in this area. He answered a lot of questions patiently and spend at least 15 minutes. explaining the maintenance aspect of the heater. I saved over $370 over the installers that Sears employs (Fast Water Heater). The only thing "Fast" about them is the money they want from you.

The only thing that I had a problem with is that he kept putting us off when he was due to come out. The wife had to call him to find out where he was and when he was arriving. He finally got the message and called us after that. Otherwise everything else went well. He cleaned up the water from the over-flow. He was very thorough.

Called spoke with someone in the office, she said she would have a technician call me back with in the hour and he would be able to give me a cost estimate. He called a couple of hours later and gave me an estimate of $650 to replace or a couple hundred to fix the problem. We made arrangement for him to come over the next day and check it out. Once he saw the problem he said it needed to be replaced, it was 15 years old so we kind of thought it needed to be replaced anyway. Made arrangements for him to come back 2 days later and install the new one. He showed up at 9:30am and was done installing it by 12:30 that afternoon.

After a night of restless sleep, got up to shower before work and decided a nice hot shower was what I needed to make me feel better about having to get up! So cranked the faucet all the way over and all that came out was luke warm water! By the time I finished rinsing shampoo out of my hair, there was only cold water. So I went to work tired and grumpy. The first opportunity I could take a break I got onto Angie's List to look for a plumber. I had a leaky shower in another bathroom that also needed looking into. The first plumber I called didn't have anyone available, so checked some of the reports on Angie's List and decided to call someone else. That company told me he could take care of the shower issue, but gave me the phone number for Stan the Hot Water Man because he thought they would be more likely to have anything that was needed for the water heater. So I called Stan the Hot Water Man and Scott called me back to set a time for late afternoon. Scott said he could be at my house somewhere between 4:30 to 6:00 pm. In my rush to leave work early, I left Scott's phone number on my desk and at about 5:30 pm I started to panic that I might not be able to reach anybody if Scott didn't show up as promised. I was not looking forward to another cold shower, so I called again and a 24 hour answering service (thank goodness!...no need to panic after all) said they would contact Scott to check on his arrival time. I heard from Scott within 15 minutes to let me know he was on his way. He arrived at 6:00 pm (as scheduled) and had my water heater repaired (replaced thermal couple) within 5 minutes.

Well overall. He forgot to log the appointment, so he got there 1:15 late, but waved $80 fee due to lateness. Seemed to know well what he was doing.

In the past year I have met and hired 5-6 plumbers. Darrel impressed me with his 30 years of experience and the fact that he has taken the Rinnai Installation Training class. Only trained installers are allowed to put a Rinnai in place. I am certain, Darrel, will do the work in a workmanlike, professional, and knowledge based manner. I look forward to working with him again.

Our water heater went out right before we were to leave for a weekend trip. We called and were able to get an appointment for the day we got back (a Monday holiday). He showed up later than originally planned (called ahead and let us know he'd be late), but this was good because it gave us time to get back from Seattle. Even though he didn't arrive until 6:30 p.m, he did arrive and installed it that night.

The tech came out the day after I called and was willing to accommodate my work schedule. He performed the work efficiently and with courtesy. I appreciated that he swept the floor under the old heater prior to placing the new unit. The price was $25 higher then his high estimate - I think because the permit was not factored into the original quote to me. Unfortunately, I spotted a small leak in one of the new water lines after the tech left. I called and he came back the next day and fixed in about 20 minutes.

Good. When I originally called another company, that company was booked for over a week, and since we had water hemorrhaging out of the un-necessary solar water heater (no longer in use), that company referred me to Stan the Hot Water Man (a pretty good reference, when one company recommends another). Anyway, the old was taken out, and our other water heater was moved and hooked up with fresh connectors, etc. Efficient and professional.
