Description of Work: Insulate the entire house. Attic, under the house and in the walls. | |(A portion of the bill was paid by the Electric Company as part of a weatherization incentive. - My portion was $4,200.) | |Very good work. The lead gentleman on my job was an excellent worker with a strong work ethic. He was meticulous and made sure that everything was done correctly. I was very impressed with him and his thorough review of all the work completed. He re-did anything that needed it and/or final touch-ups before he called everything finished.

Description of Work: Completely gutted and replaced all plastic underlayment and insulation in crawl space.

Description of Work: They insulated to R49 in the attic.. They also added roof vents to bring my home up to code and replaced the stove vent.. They insulated under the floor of an addition as well.. The workers could barely speak English but seemed to know what they were doing and a supervisor came out before they were finished to make sure everything was being done right..

Description of Work: Total Comfort replaced all the windows on our home including enlarging some and adding one new one. Where we wanted to add the new window we ran into the main electrical lines for the house and those had to be rerouted. An electrician was brought in with a minimal delay. The electrician's cost seemed very reasonable. Our large window in the living room wasn't sitting exactly level after it was installed and they were quick to fix it. Since Total Comfort was the low bid on this project, we were a little worried that if issues came up that we would either pay more or be unsatisfied with the results. This was not true. They handled everything professionally and thoroughly and we are 99.9% satisfied with the results. The .1% 'unsatisfied' is that the pulls on the window screens seem to be rather fragile. I don't know if the screens would have been different if we had gone with a different installer. Overall, Total Comfort did a super job---especially for the price.

Description of Work: Total Comfort Weatherization among others was refered by Salem Electric for updating my insulation in my 18 year-old house. Jeremy Anderson was the representative for Total Comfort who came out to my home in late November 23, 2011 and provided me with an estimate to increase the R-factor insulation in the attic to R-47 plus under floor insulation to R-25. In addition, he recommended insulating the crawl space water pipes and resupporting the existing batt insulation which had drooped over the last 18 years. There were several other procedures that were also suggested at the recommendation of Salem Electric and which Total Comfort was committed to. Jeremy was entirely professional in his visits to my home and discussions about the insulation needs of this house. He was clear about the process, procedures and billing. The under floor (crawl space) insulation needs were addressed on December 6, 2011 and the attic on December 19, 2011. I also want to say that Total Comfort was very prompt with the billing prior to the end of the tax year so that I could take advantage of the federal rebate for 2011. In addition, they gave me a small deduction for prompt payment. I am very pleased with their service and told the owner at his office here in Salem. I recommend them highly. Fritz Ulrich

Description of Work: We have an older home (1952) with no insulation under the wood floors. We asked for a quote and were shocked by the amount ($6k, double what we expected). We have had to put this project on hold due to old plumbing issues - which we brought to their attention. The quote was given in good time, they did a thorough job of crawling around under our house ("L" shaped). First the plumbing, then we will have to get new quotes. We will definitely call Total Comfort and use as the high-end yardstick.
