They were prompt, professional, polite. They immedialty responded to our phone inquiries during our decision-making process. The work was performed on the date scheduled and within the time that was quoted to us. The clean up was complete. The office staff was helpful with all necessary paperwork. In addition, we had three inspections of Meltons work (lucky us, we were randomly picked by the county and the Energy Trust for extra inspections). All inspectors stated that the work was as is should be. One inspector stated that he sees good work from this company.

They put in a new heat pump, furnace, and tankless hot water heater for me 2 years ago. When Elk River remodeled my home 3 years ago, they swept the debris down into the floor heat ducts, so, I had to purchase a whole new heating and cooling system, because it was destroyed. I had Melton Heating and Air to come in and give me an estimate. They could have came in, made more money, but, they didn't, and made the proper recommendations for my heating and cooling system. They are patient, will answer any questions, and treat you with a great deal of respect.

They were excellent. They did a really good job and they were timely. They figured out the job fairly quickly and they were thorough.

we had a terrible time getting them to sync with the other contractorts. Found it hard to get in touch with someone who would respond to our needs. The work was fine, but the response to our needs and promptness in getting it done was very bad. I'm surprised that they can stay in business this long.

The services were performed promptly and professionally. We are satisfied with the furnace, although it is louder than we expected and remembered our previous furnace to be. The water heater is another story. After the water heater was replaced, we immediately noticed a strong chemical taste and smell in our water, and there was a white film that came out of the faucets that we noticed when doing dishes and in the sink bowls. We immediately called with our concern, and they were slow to respond. Someone from the City of Salem came out and did a water test, and found the water to have normal results for the standard tests of chlorine etc, although he did see the white residue and said it looked to him like plumber's putty. Although it took a few weeks, Meltons eventually came and got the unit, which we replaced with a non-Melton water heater that is working much better and we are happy with. After doing some research, I believe the $800 charge for the water heater was well above standard market cost. It took them almost a month to return our $800 for the heater, which required lots of calls on our part. To be fair, we still notice a chemical taste in our water and don't know why that is, but if the white residue that we noticed after the tank was replaced is somehow still in our pipes, it could continue to be creating a chemical taste in the water. We are very frustrated and don't know what to do about our water quality issue, as I now don't like to drink the water. Even the use of water filters doesn't seem to help. Although overall Meltons did an acceptable job with the furnace, I don't think I would use them again because of the water heater issue and their subsequent handling of it, and I would NOT recommend them for water heaters.

I have a service agreement with them and hence got a big discount on the part. We have been here for 15 months and have been using them for 15 months. They are good. I haven't looked elsewhere as they basically came with the house. They know the property and have been servicing the unit. So I kept them and I haven't been disappointed. They are good and efficient. They are always very prompt. I have had them out here three times.

The system is under warranty. Tech was on time and courteous.

They were polite, professional, on time and very knowledgeable.

They performed the service. They took a while to do the work, but they did a good job.

My experience with them was satisfactory. There was nothing in particular that stood out about them and it was as per what we had expected. The price that they charged was average. It was not better or worse than the other companies. I would probably use their services in the future too.

The work was basically done O.K. The one exception was they failed to put in a microwave vent which was in the bid and was not discovered until it was to late. They were terrible in getting them to react to request to come out and do things to mesh with the electricians and other contractors. Very slow to respond. Very unprofessional in helping us get the rebates due to us.

The company was very responsive and the estimate included all aspects required for replacement, .e.g.., permits. The final bill was exact and inclusive of the many energy rebates and credits available. The installer was meticulous. The "home" office and sale representative were also amiable and very professional.

We have used Melton’s for several years to service our aging system. They held it together for years. We were adding a new addition and needed a new system there so decided it was time to upgrade the heat pump in the rest of the house. The were prompt and responsive. We had one minor issue after the unit in the new addition was installed and the inspector was on the way. I discovered the new unit would not turn on. Called they sent someone out immediately. Apparently the original installer forgot to check that the thermostat was hooked up correctly. Took the tech about 20 minutes and we were good to go passed the inspection no problem.

We had noticed a gas leak on our old furnace. Northwest Natural Gas came out and identified the leak as coming from the control valve on our furnace. The repair would have been $400.00, so we opted to shop for a replacement furnace. We considered all options, i.e, direct replacement, upgrade to a high efficiency furnace and installation of a complete hybrid system (combination heat pump and furnace). We were contacted by Corey Emerson from Melton Heating. He is a sales person, but has an extensive background in HVAC installation and servicing, which for me, gave him instant credibility. His approach was very honest and informative and helped us make a good decision about what type of system to install. We decided to just install a new Hi Efficiency furnace, keeping our existing air conditioning system. Corey determined that if, in the future, we needed to replace the air conditioning equipment, that it could be done using the existing "coil box" without having to uninstall the furnace. This was an important factor in our decision to just replace the furnace at this time. He also explained the function, pros and cons of a hybrid heat pump system, and based on his experience and opinion, we opted not to go that route. Once we signed the contract, the installation was done quickly and professionally (with the exception of a few metal scraps left in our garage), and we were happy with the quality of the installation and the professionalism of the installers. Corey came by within the following few days and inspected the installation with his trained eye and was also happy with the installation quality. We were allowed to pay for the new furnace using our American Express card, which gave us a little extra rebate. Corey also explained all the rebates that we were entitled to for going with the 95% furnace, (Energy Trust, Factory Rebate, and State of Oregon tax credit). He completed and submitted all the rebate and tax credit paperwork for us, which we greatly appreciated. Another thing that influenced our decision to go with the Trane furnace and Melton was the 10-year Parts & Labor warranty, which we hadn't found with other products. (The unit we purchased was the Trane XV95 with Honeywell Pro 9000 Thermostat.)
