Because our new range was awkwardly sticking out into the kitchen after installation on Wednesday afternoon, we hoped to get the service of an electrician on Thursday. After reading reviews of several companies on Angie's List, I chose to call Code Electric first thing in the morning. Office personnel Kathe was very pleasant and accommodating with my request to have the work done that day. My husband and I are retired and normally laid back and flexible with schedules of service people. But that day we needed to make a lunch meeting at 11:30. When Miguel was delayed a bit beyond the expected time, I was worried about his being able to finish the job on time. When I called Kathe back and expressed my concern, she remained pleasant, called Miguel and assured me he was on his way.
Miguel arrived soon after. We found him to be very personable and professional, and he completed the job quickly. He moved the range out and worked skillfully in a cramped space to detach the receptacle and reattach it close to the floor. After replacing the range drawer, he double-checked the placement of the receptacle and made a little adjustment so that the drawer could close perfectly. He was so efficient, we had no problem getting to our lunch meeting.
If we should need electrical work done in the future, I would not hesitate to call Code Electric again. We were extremely pleased with the service. I believe this smaller company truly strives to serve their customers' needs in the best possible manner.
The electrician arrived at least 10 minutes after his appointed time, and before he had a chance to start work, we noticed that his arm was bleeding. We spent about 10 minutes bandaging his arm and cleaning up the blood he had dripped on the floor and counter. He then went about his business and left. Unfortunately, I didn't make a note of the exact time of his arrival and departure; but, I estimated that he had been here (and working) no more than 60-75 minutes. I provided all of the materials, so the charge covered only labor. So, I was quite surprised to receive what I considered a rather substantial bill. I sent the full payment; however, I included a letter to the effect that I thought the bill was rather high for the amount of time that was actually spent doing the electrical work. I was disappointed that I didn't even receive the courtesy of a call to discuss the amount of the charges. Had I received a reasonable explanation, I probably would feel differently. However, for completely ignoring my concerns, this contractor has lost any future business from me.
They came in to work on that and when checking it found problems with some previously done work probably
by the former owner that was put together in a hodgepodge manor. The lights that the switches controlled had a large
number of wires put together with short pieces of wire even though there was enough wire in the attic that could be pulled down to wire them correctly, one of the light boxes was broken and only attached with one nail. In addition the area around the light boxes was a piece of wood with a very thin coat of something like joint compound smeared on it. When the light was removed the texture material fell off since there was nothing for the stuff to make it adhere to the wood. Jack was very helpful in working with the person that came to re-texture the celiing. They also came out when I had problems with a electrical outlet to challenge the plug to be sure my electricity was at the correct voltage after a repair man insisted that it was not. Later the appliance repair man had to admit that his voltage meter was not accurate. All of this caused me to call them multiple times. They were very helpful and always ready to help me. I am very grateful to have found a company that goes out of there way to help when I was feeling at the end of my rope with all these things I don't understand.

The electrician called me from the rental unit and confirmed that the air conditioner was overloading the circuit. He also said that the microwave, a large, over-the-range model, was on a 15 amp circuit. We confirmed a date with the tenants to work on the microwave circuit. The work was done quickly and with little disturbance to my tenants.
