1. Technician did not introduce/identify himself. 2. He requested that my 70+ y/o husband get him our ladder out of the garage (as he was leaving we saw that he had his own on the truck). 3. He damaged the attic opening frame (left it dangling down) and told my husband, "you'll need to fix that."

The repairman was professional, friendly and helpful. He shared information about my particular furnace brand and model, and told me what to watch out for in the future, based on their experience servicing them. I've had a good experience with every service person I've met from Sunset Heating & Cooling. They answer all my questions about my furnace and duct system. They are even tolerant and kind to my pets -- even when an over-friendly cat jumped on the most-recent repairman's shoulders as he prepared to leave!

The folks at Sunset did a great job from start to finish, replacing my 30+ year old furnace and adding in a central air conditioning system. I was very happy with their price and service and highly recommend them!

Well, except that the electrician had not been informed of the size of wire needed and had to make a return visit to finish the wiring phase of the installation. He went out of his way to fit doing so into his busy summer installation schedule.

Our technician Levi assessed the system and found a number of problems; ultimately it turned out to be a flapper value in the ducting closed (a screw fell off due to vibration) resulting in the blower not pushing air thru the system which created the other problems. I liked the methodical way that Levi did his troubleshooting, and I don't think this was an easy issue to assess. He was professional, competent, friendly and was able to do the job in a reasonable amount of time. He also recommended that I upgrade the system to a higher capacity when this one runs its course. I will use this company again when I have heating or A/C needs. Well done!

In-person interactions with this company were all excellent. It was the customer service over the phone that wasn't so great. We had two bids from this company. The first, in September of last year. Then, when we decided to have the services performed, we had to get another bid in April because the original bid "expired." Um, ok. It was somewhat irritating to have to have a second appointment but whatever. I called a few days after the bid to schedule the service. I was told I'd receive two calls: one to schedule and another to pay for half. Well, the first call I got was to collect half of the money. Sorry but I'm not paying you $5,000 for something that hasn't even been scheduled yet. I told them that and they seemed surprised. Anyway, got a call back and got the service scheduled. Had to take time off work another day to wait for the guy to come measure. This guy completely changed the direction provided by the sales guy but when I asked how much it would cost he said he "didn't handle the money." I had to call Sunset several times to find out exactly what they were going to do before they started work and how much it would cost. Anyway, everything has been installed, Jorge and Mike did a great job, and we're looking forward to a nice cool summer and a warmer winter!

We had a sizzling sound from one of our light fixtures. Tyler came by and was very professional. He fixed it quickly and didn't even charge us! He gave us a bid on some other work. He called me after the job, as I was at work. He was very detailed. We are glad to call on him when we are ready to do the work.

The guys were fast and nice. The HVAC guys answered all my questions. They installed the AC in less than a full day. I have no issues 9 months or so later. One small complaint was that the electrician installed an exterior outlet (by code needs to be done near outdoor unit). He ran it off an outlet in the garage and had to drill a hole in the garage wall to the outside. Not a problem to do it like this for me but now there is a small hole where you can see the outside. I wish the hole saw cut was a little better (or patched up) as now I got a small hole where you can see the outside.

After a struggle with our Lennox gas furnace with other HVAC companies in the Vancouver, WA I called Sunset, as they were listed as a premier dealer with Lennox. Yesterday Bill arrived at our home took off the door to the cabinet and said, ?clogged condensation tube.? His quick assessment and professionalism is unknown in Clark County with other HVAC companies.

I called when furnace was out in 30 degree winter temps. Sorry, can't come for 5 days. Not helpful at all. Glad they are busy enough to turn down work, but don't call them first if you need help.

The entire thing went really well. The end price matched exactly with the quote, everyone was very professional. They showed up on time and delivered on time. It was a big job and it took a day and a half for the install but the second day they finished early and John and Marco had to wait a few hours for the NW Natural guy to come inspect it and turn it on. While they waited they grabbed some rakes and raked the leaves in my front yard. I came home to a beautifully raked yard. Amazing! And the entire area around the furnace install was much cleaner after they left than it was before they started.

The installation was great. No problems encountered and the crew were courteous and professional. I had a question about an installed item and was happy to receive a timely visit from a technician who answered my inquiries. On the front end, the estimator was a challenge to work with. I was in the process of obtaining bids and texted some questions to the estimator. In particular, I asked if he was proposing a 5 ton unit, as I was told by another contractor that a 5 ton unit would be appropriate. I wanted an apples to apples comparison. The reply I received was, "why do you want to know?". I found that very off putting. I ended up calling the office and speaking to the owner, who gave me a thorough answer. I think that some customer service training might be appropriate for the estimator. I should also mention that I scheduled this job through the Costco program and received a $564 Costco gift card rebate a few weeks after the work was completed. That made the price even more competitive.

Bid was provided on time. Was just higher than others we got.

Basically a three-step process, the first step being a walk-through and estimate. Next came a more comprehensive on-site inspection, working out the installation details necessary. The third step was the actual installation, taking two days and performed professionally by two installers as well as an electrician to do the hook-up for the air conditioner. Everything was accomplished pretty much as expected, and nearly a month later everything is working well and performing to my satisfaction. All the clean-up and haul away was done well, and the installer was informative and helpful about performance, upkeep, and annual inspection details. One small caveat, as yet still unresolved, was a promise from the provider to give me a free air conditioner cover since my unit was installed under a tree that drops a lot of 'stuff' throughout the year. So far, still no cover. I'll update the review when and if it arrives. *UPDATE* One day after my Angie's List review posted, the manager of Sunset called me personally to inquire about the air conditioner cover issue. He was very concerned about getting the issue resolved, and sure enough, one day after our conversation the air conditioner cover was delivered to me. There can always be a communications glitch when you've got three moving parts within a company working to get an installation done, trying to cover all the details involved. The real test is how does the company react when such a glitch arises. In my opinion, Sunset passed that test solidly and reinforced the impression I had of them throughout the entire installation process: they are committed to professional customer service and making sure the customer is totally satisfied. This customer certainly is.

We had our A/C quit working on the day before the hottest weather of the year is expected. I called Sunset Heating on Saturday morning and talked to the answering service who promised a call back in 30 minutes. Peter called me back in 5 minutes! That was a good start. He told me how long it would take him to get here, he explained the weekend pricing structure. He expressed confidence he could get the A/C going for us. He was at the door very close to when he guessed he'd be here. another point for that! Peter is a very nice, upbeat guy, willing to explain what he is doing without making us feel stupid. He didn't make us feel like our older A/C was crappy or bad. Within a very few minutes, he identified the problem as a blown fuse. He popped new ones in and it started right up. He serviced the unit, cleaning it out and replenishing the coolant. We were beyond relieved! Also, he offered a reasonably priced maintenance plan for our furnace and A/C. He applied the discounts to our current repair call so we saved paying the overtime rate and got a discount on the parts and materials. The price we paid included the plan. Peter is a wonder ambassador for his company. Enthusiastic and meticulous. We will be glad to have Sunset out to service our furnace this fall.
