+ 7 moreOverall, we were really happy with Steve's work. He was very professional and extremely helpful. When we ran into issues with the city, in terms of legalizing the space, he was really patient and took time to walk through potential issues with us. His quality of work was exceptional. He has a great understanding of how to build things well and what designs work and what do not work. He listened carefully to our design plan and executed it really well. Steve was almost always on top of what was going on at the house. The sheet rocker subs he brought in did a satisfactory job but some of their equipment damaged our floor and there are some areas that could have been done better. The rest of the subs were great and all were very friendly and trustworthy.
Description of Work: Steve remodeled an addition that was put on our house before we owned it. This ended up including bringing the space up to code. Prior to the remodel it was a large empty room with the laundry in it. Steve cut and installed three windows. Framed and sheet rocked two closets. Created an opening from the bedroom closet into one of the closets (to create a walk-in closet). Moved the plumbing of a washer and brought the plumbing up to code. Hung a folding door on the laundry closet. Rewired several outlets and added two overhead lights. Relocated a heating vent. Added insulation to open walls, under the floor, and in the ceiling. Built stairs to code from an exterior door. Added bird block vents and roof vents. Added and enlarged foundation vents. Enlarged the crawl space access.

Steve's experience and knowledge was a real benefit. Our house was finished on time (five months from ground breaking to move in) and on budget. Steve is honest, professional, and his work product is exceptional. I highly recommend Spectrum Homes for any new construction or home remodel project.
Description of Work: New home/custom home construction on a 3000 square foot single family home. We took our plans and lot to Steve from Spectrum Homes and he built our house.

+ -1 moreYes, Steve did more work on our house again. He did such a great job that we had him do our kitchen and had him come back to do our bathrooms.
Description of Work: He remodeled two and a half bath. He gutted our two full baths, flooring, marble tile work, took down walls, painted and new fixtures. The half bath got new paint, flooring and new fixtures.

He told us at the outset that he'd probably finish the job in a month; we mentally added another two weeks, but we finished right on schedule. His subs showed up when he needed them; the entire operation proceeded like clockwork. They really worked as a team. Steve showed great attention to detail and was remarkably organized. He understood what we wanted, came up with some great ideas and solutions, and incorporated our change orders with good grace and minimal disruption. He was a pleasure to deal with, and we'd definitely hire him again. In fact, we have another remodeling project in mind that we're hoping he can do...
Description of Work: Remodeled a portion of downstairs (daylight basement) level into a guest room and bath. Involved substantial plumbing and electrical as well as general construction and finish work.
