It was great. We checked prices. He was prompt and nice. He cleaned up when he finished. He was ok finding a way to get to the furnace since something was built around it. The technician was very friendly.

I remember being impressed that they diagnosed the problem, which was minor. They listened to me and used these these comments in diagnosing the situation. They were honest in their assessment.

Great, though there was a problem after they left the heat stopped working. Turns out there is a faulty valve and they were able to come back and turn in back on the next day. They were very honest about how much life is left in our older furnace and that it likely won't last a whole lot longer, but have been great at keeping it going for the last couple years when another company said it wouldn't last another day.

It had been ten years since my furnace had been serviced, so when I called Rose City Heating and Air, owner Jeff Pangborn took my call, he was personable and a patient listener. He scheduled my appointment with friendly technician Dave Reed who was on time and thoroughly inspected the furnace. Everything seemed fine, so I was only charged for a service call! A week later, the furnace stopped working. I called Rose City and they sent out another technician (don't recall his name) to inspect the problem. Turned out there was a loss connection, something that didn't show up on the prior appointment. Fortunately the tech was able to repair the problem rather than replace it which was a cost savings including no charge for a second service call. The tech also suggested a thicker filter that would give me better air flow and he was right! Owner Jeff Pangborn and his crew were great doing business with and I would defiantly recommend using them. Thanks guys!

Replaced the defective part.

Excellent. My wife and I got home from a trip and found our Thermostat malfunctioning. Jeff (the Owner) told me how to fix it over the phone for no charge, but I really wanted a "Nest Thermostat". This is a really cool I-Phone manageable thermostat. Dave (my regular Technician) came out and installed it and ensured that everything was set up and running properly. We love it! Update - We went out of town and I asked my wife if she turned down the thermostat. She said "No" and pulled out her I-Phone and set it to a lower temperature. That creates a real savings. Also, about 8 hours before we returned to our house, my wife turned the thermostat so the house would be a perfect temperature when we arrived. AH, Technology at it's finest. Thank you Rose City...YOU ROCK! Hint - If you join Rose City's "Comfort Club" you will save 15% on the "Nest" and any other parts which get replaced. This is my second "Comfort Club" membership and I will never be without it. They provide regular service and without question, my furnace will last a lot longer with their regular professional maintenance.

They were polite and professional. Showed up on time, figured out it was the igniter, had the part in his truck and fixed it all within about 20 minutes. But.... he charged us $259 for the part. After he left, my boyfriend looked it up on the internet and couldn't find an igniter that cost more than $30. I understand they must charge some mark up, but eight times the cost of the part seems a bit much. We ended up calling them on Monday to ask if we were charged correctly. After a couple of exchanged phone calls and conversations, they said they had over charged us by $118 and did promptly send a refund. I'd like to think it was just an honest mistake, but the owner said the tech who came out had been doing this kind of work for eight years. It seems like after eight years you would be pretty familiar with the pricing of common products.

I've had Rose City out for several emergency repairs on my heater. Each time I've called, they've come out within a couple of hours ... particularly impressive because at least one of the times I called it was a nasty day and I know they had lots of other calls, too. I think my heater is good to go for a long time now (at least I hope it is) with the new mother board. Thanks, Dave.

It's freezing and my furnace stopped working. Jeff was backed up a week but he took the time to give me advice over the phone. He asked if it was a High Efficiency unit (YES), and he said it might be a frozen condensate drain tube. He even said it can be cleared by running a blow dryer over the tube, and then gave options to prevent in the future, such as heat tape to keep the tube defrosted, or running it into an internal drain line instead of out the exterior siding. WOW! What a great service, even though it was free and over the phone. When I need future service, I will go with Jeff and Rose City Heating & Air. I can recommend this company on their courtesy, professionalism and honesty.

He did an excellent job and was friendly and informative. I knew that my furnace was elderly and in need of work. He worked quickly and tidied up nicely.

It worked out very well. The person was very nice. He had the parts on his truck so he was able to fix it when he was here so that worked out really well. The price for the service was fine but I ended up having to pay $450 for the parts. I didn’t have the opportunity to shop around and see if that’s a good price or not.

Scheduling went well and they were prompt when they said they were going to be. The technician that came out was very nice and he was here for about an hour. They actually found a carbon monoxide leak in our system caused by the previous company that put in the vents improperly. In the long run he ended up saving us money by fixing the thermostat.

The person that came out was extremely efficient. Time is everything and he had the part replaced, and the furnace up and running in no time. Recently I also called this provider to come look at another rental proeprty, and they even called back at 6:30 on a Friday and had the work scheduled for Monday. We ended up figuring out what was wrong and were able to get it running but they could not have been more gracious when we called to cancel Monday morning. We have also used his company for our own home and they are always prompt, reliable, and I think a good value.

The service was good, but I did spend more than the deal. It was a polite and friendly contractor who seemed to enjoy his job, so it was a good experience. There wasn't anything that I wasn't happy with.

It took a while for them to come out because they were busy, so we waited because we didn?t care that much.? When I talked to the owner, I felt like he was trying to help me without charging me if that was possible, to see if there was something, I could do to fix it.? Then when they sent out the technician, he was a nice guy, he explained things and made us feel comfortable with.? The price was reasonable.

I was not the person home, but I was told it went very well. I had worked with this provider before and he had done a good job when I was the contact, so I believe the service was again excellent.

The company sent a man to look at our attic the day after I made the call. He was on time, and very professional.. He said that he would email an estimate, but it never arrived. After a couple of weeks I called and emailed. No one returned the call or email. Finally when I called a third time I got a response but still no estimate. Eventually I received the estimate, scheduled the work, but today, when the job should have been done, they didn't come out because they hadn't received the equipment. I had been told this could happen, but no one called me yesterday or this morning to let us know they weren't coming. I think they are either under-staffed or just poorly organized. My husband and I decided to use another company because we are concerned because of this poor service. We called First Call because they had installed our heating and air conditioning. Steve recommended that we buy the attic fan at Home Depot or Lowes because they sell and install them so much more cheaply than First Call can. A very interesting experience so far!

We bought our house in '07 and Rose City converted the house to natural gas heat and cooking. They installed a new furnace and all ductwork for heating the house, plus lines to a stove and a gas grill on the deck. They were outstanding during that process. We have since had them back for several small jobs, or to quote other work that we ended up not doing. Jeff has always been very responsive and we are very happy with the work they have done.

Great. Not only did the Technician find that the Furnace and Air Conditioner needed Cleaning and Servicing, but Dave found that there was a dangerous situation with the exhaust from the Hot Water Heater where the union of the Furnace and Hot Water Vent meet. This could lead to emitting Carbon Monoxide into the garage and ultimately into the house. Great find!

We chose Rose City for their Angie's List rating and the American Standard equipment which Consumer Reports rates high on reliability. Salesman was very good at explaining details and offering alternatives. Bid was detailed and complete. Installers were clearly expert, very skillful and friendly. Salesman came back to make sure we were perfectly satisfied. We're delighted with our new system.

Jeff was professional and knowledgable. He took the time to answer my questions, fully inspect my home's needs and inquire about my family's concerns and needs. His estimate was through, itemized and clear. I ultimately chose another provider, but I recommend Rose City as a company to investigate and call.
