Pyramid Heating & Cooling

Very well. They did an initial but detailed estimate within days of me contacting them. The final cost was within $200-300 of the original estimate. Their bid was just slightly less than the next best. However, Pyramid supplied a higher end Carrier furnace for the same price their competitor pitched us for a more obscure brand.

Dave from Pyramid came out to give us an estimate for a new furnace, then never followed up with the actual estimate, even after I sent him an email a week later asking for one. What a waste of his time and ours! Maybe he was miffed because I had another HVAC contractor out to give an estimate and the two of them overlapped. I actually was more inclined to go with Pyramid because Dave gave me more information than the other person and seemed more thorough. Alas, no business for them.

Everything went well. Ralph, the estimator measured every room or our house to ensure the proper size furnace. The Install went very smoothly. Everything was completed as promised

Everything went well. Performed the work as promised. No upsell. The tech could have done a better job cleaning up. Lots of debris around two of the vents. But--I could have inspected the the work before he left.

Randy arrived promptly and explained to me what he was doing. He found some issues with the installation of the furnace, which has been in place around 5 years. (I did not have the installer do the maintenance because he has never returned any phone calls since the original installation.) Randy recommended calling Pyramid to fix installation issues. I have not decided to do that yet. May get a second opinion. They honored the price I had been quoted at a recent home show even though that price was below the listed special.

I told them I wanted to work with them and requested a final quote. They just never go to back to me.

They did a great job. They didn't have the exact part for our older unit so he replaced it with what he had telling us that he thought it would work fine and it has. He had to do some slight modification to get it to fit. They were very busy but they did everything they said they would do and they did it on time. The cost was very reasonable. I would certainly hire them again for repairs.

I was extremely happy with my experience. Randy was helpful, professional and quick to fix my furnace and restore my heat. I will not hesitate to call them again.

I used a discount coupon Pyramid offered on Angie?s List to schedule maintenance under a two year contract. They came out to do the work and discovered a problem and corrected it but then discovered that there were bigger problems. They gave me a quote for the repair and they presented an option for a replacement as the cost of the repair was significant and the furnace was going on 16 years old. I did some comparison for a new furnace and they had the best deal and also credit me with repair work they did before discovering the larger problem. Excellent communication and all my questions were answered (Thanks Ralph). I even talked to the technician that did the work at the site as it was rental property. Nice guy but forgot his name. I made a change from a lower efficiency furnace to a higher efficiency furnace at the ?very last? minute. They did some phone calls and re-worked the order without missing a step. Plus, they kept to the original schedule. Well done!

They did a careful evaluation of a couple of leaks in ductwork and found we had a crushed duct in one place and incomplete connection of a duct under the bathroom cabinet. They explained the situation carefully and covered our options for repair. They gave us a complete written bid for the repair work on the spot. They were very responsive in scheduling. We'll definitely call them to have the work done.

I got their name from my gas company. They were satisfactory and I would probably use them again.

They were really, really good and we liked them. They were very prompt. They kept to their estimate of time of three days and they were finished in three days. This is the first time a contractor has completed a job on time for us. They were very nice and respectful and they did it in budget. I would use them if we needed work done again. The quality and responsiveness were very good. We did get another quote for the job.

Called for an estimate and estimator came out. He promised bid the next day by email, Nothing, then he called 2 days later saying he was swamped but would get it to me by Friday at the latest. One week later I have not received bid and when I called company to talk to owner receptionist stated owner rarely there so she could not promise a return call. Very disappointing.

I called several companies. Pyramid was the lowest bid. After a bit of questioning, I did find they used fans from a different supplier which may be why. Everyone else used Air Vent fans, Pyramid installed a fan made by Ventamatic. At the beginning of the recent week-long heat wave, Pyramid was able to schedule installation just 4 days later. Other companies estimated a 2 to 3 week wait. So I was very happy with the quick service. The installer was here early and got everything wrapped up fairly quick. Before they started, they made sure to walk around the house with me and verify where I wanted the fans installed. The installers were very friendly.

Fantastic process. I got three bids. Pyramid wasn't the lowest, but they were close. I chose them because of Randy's communication and responsiveness. I've dealt with too many flaky contractors to save a few bucks, only to pay for it with frustration, lost time, and headaches. I'm so happy I chose Pyramid. I haven't had a better experience dealing with ANY contractor. (I own four commercial buildings, and deal with a lot of them.)

Ralph gave us an estimate and then worked with their layout guy, Nathan. Ralph and Nathan both gave us great service and went the extra mile to help us with the best place to move the new furnace in order to maximize the space in the room. Their installer Ron also was very good to work with. They missed one item and took great effort to fix it immediately. I would highly recommend Pyramid.

Chris came and got right to work. He explained a lot of what was going on and gave advice for how to get the best life out of the furnace and A/C. he was great! We needed to replace a part for the A/C, but otherwise no surprises.

They were one of the two companies that returned my call on a Saturday evening. This was out of a total of 6 companies that I had tried. About an hour after I called, someone from the company called me and attempted to help me over the phone. She said most problems were caused by bad filters. She listened to what I had to say, gave me some options to do before a technician would come out, or to just send a technician. I chose the latter. She said the price would be $129 for the diagnostic fee and extra for anything additional, like parts, etc. I said ok since another company said it was going to be at least $300 just to show up. Their technician called 24 minutes later and said he was on a call already and would be able to get to me in 2 hours. He then called again an hour later and said he was on his way from Beaverton. He arrived about 45 minutes after his last call. He was punctual and informative. He showed me what was wrong with my furnace, the pressure switch had tripped. He reset it and found that the blower fan assembly was rubbing which was not allowing the fan to get up to regular speed. That's what tripped the pressure switch. He basically bent it back so it was not rubbing and then checked at least 5 other things to make sure my HVAC system was working. He kept me informed of what he was doing during the 30 minutes he was at my home and recommended some things for me to do later. They charged me a diagnostic fee ($129 on weekends) just to show up. It was additional for him to clear the pressure switch and adjust the blower assembly. All HVAC companies seem to have the diagnostic fee so I am not surprised, just surprised that it didn't include him doing anything. I'd use them again for emergency service however because they were the lowest of all the companies that responded.

Pyramid installed a new heat pump for me and they were fast, clean, and very respectful of our home. I also am a contractor and have used Pyramid Heating on various small remodel projects and have never been disappointed!

Our heating/cooling system was still working, but approx 25 years old. We were noticing that our utility costs were rising. We wanted to reduce gas/electric expenses & also reduce our carbon footprint. Pyramid Heating was referred to us by a contractor friend. Pyramid has done all of his heating & a/c work for many years, so we asked them for a bid. Then we checked Angie's List & Pyramid had an "A" rating. It was a truly great experience. They showed up on time for the appointment & prepared a thorough proposal. We then asked two other companies to provide bids. We received bids from approx $6900-8800. Pyramid was the middle bid @ $7640. They replaced our old furnace & a/c unit with a new "high efficiency" gas furnace & heat pump. It's too early to say, but it appears that we will save about $600 in utility costs this winter alone. The installer, Nathan, explained that this is a third generation Oregon company. When he was inside the house, he always walked on a tarp that he brought with him. All in all, this was the best contractor experience that we have ever had.

I was very pleased with the responce and the fact they are very friendly.

Design was a bit bumpy because they really didn't know how to size the system for a house with insulated concrete form construction. They also were not too familiar with ERV operation. They didn't end up installing the controls we originally talked about which led to some confusion. However, for the most part they showed a willingness to work with us and design a system that met our needs. Installation went farily well except for a couple hickups. One vent did not get installed -- the loose duct was just left above the ceiling. That was quickly fixed once we pointed it out. The dampers were miswired so that the kids room did not get proper heating. They were very quick to fix that as well. I really appreciated the fellow who came out and programmed the controller for us. He really seemed to know what he was doing and answered all our questions. The rebate application process took several iterations because they filled out the wrong forms the first time. However, the correct forms were finally filed and we received the rebate. Full disclosure: Pyramid is offering me a $75 discount on service to write this review.

They did a very good job of checking the heating system. I think the price was a little high. Their customer service is very good and the technician was knowledgeable and professional.

It went fabulous overall. They were able to fix on the spot problems that other companies hadn't detected, and also given too high of a bid for. They fixed it for us for a reasonable price in one visit. They did come follow up; however, and discovered an extensive heat loss that they gave us a bid for. They patched it as best as they could on the spot. They also gave us a written estimate which other companies hadn't.
