Miguel was professional but friendly and very accommodating. Answered all my questions and checked the roof as well for evidence of any woodpecker damage. All areas were completely clean when he left, with debris in appropriate waste cans. I'd call The Home Doctor again for this service!

As above, everything from the person in the home office to the person doing the work, went along smoothly and without a hitch.

There were two separate jobs and one I was very happy with, one was very challenging. They had a pretty serious issue with communication. They came in when they said they were going to come in. They started everything done very quickly. Unfortunately, they didn’t very clearly communicate when they were going to come back for the second job, which was to fix the gutters. It was noted on their quote that I had to chase them down and get the quotes for the gutters and get everything fixed which another took two months. However, I was pretty happy with the repair they did on the beams.

When I finally contacted them and complained, it was established that they were going to come back and do the gutter replacement. They came out to give me the quote. The quote was very competitive. It was the lowest price I got. They failed in being punctual. The first time they came out, they were not prepared. They looked at the job and said that they couldn't do it. The second time they came out, the machine didn’t work. The third time they came out, they finally got it done. It was just kind of a comedy there. I had to speak to the business owner to get everything straightened out. This is a series of phone calls and emails and quite a bit of communication from my end. The quality of work was good. I went with them because they were a $100 lower than the competition. I was happy with the first work they did which was the structural repair work. However, between punctuality and communication it was pretty frustrating. I’m happy with the work in the end but the amount of work that I had to do to stay in communication with them and on schedule was extremely frustrating. I wound up calling roofers to get a second opinion on the work because the initial gutter repair people that came out suggested that I may have more serious roofing issues which was on hold because of the second opinion. One of the individuals was fired from that company because of the way this was handled. So, they definitely need some business changes to the process. The owner was very responsive when I got him involved. They sub contract their gutter work and I was paying for their services of project management. However, they struggled quite a bit with that. They did respond once I got everything going. They were punctual, when I got them to respond. I understand that the reason I got a good price is because they didn’t have a good communication. The thing that bothers me about it is that it was pretty clearly a personal issue. There were two things that happened; they missed on the structural repair but I also wanted the gutters replaced. They don’t normally do structural repair. The quality of the structural repair was good. Also, they were the only gutter people I could find which is part of the issue. It was just consistently a communication issue with the person at the desk and the management. When the second part of the job started, that person did not follow through. The job leader for the gutter replacement, the first two men that showed up were on drugs. They were twitching and shaking and one was fired; he didn’t come back. The second and third time, the leader of that job was very good, very professional, and very communicative. When he showed up the second time and his machine was not working, it was frustrating. When I spoke with the owner, he said he was very concerned and really made sure that extra attention was placed on this project. However, the fact that I had to go to that step was really frustrating. I’m pretty sure it is centered on one big miscommunication in the scope of the job and on an employee that was not qualified for the job. They had some other issues going on between them. They made a correction in one of the employees and the communication improved after I complained. In terms of the overall quality of the work, it was pretty good. I know the price was absolutely the best. I was in a mixed situation because I was looking for a company that does gutter work with some structural repairs. Other gutter replacement people I talked to would just replace the gutters; they wouldn't address some of the carpentry issues. This company would address those issues. They did a very good job at a very good price. I got what I wanted in the end. There were two things I was talking to the wrong company about this project. I was at the limit of what they do. What I should have done was hired a carpenter for exterior finish work. They would be okay for a basic gutter replacement but at the height of the season, in the fall, when there is a lot of work, they are subcontracting to other companies and their project management is not the best.

I called in the request to Susan in the morning and Miguel and another person showed up to look at the problem in the afternoon. They had the job done by late afternoon. Susan was very professional, keeping me informed of the time I could expect them and also following up after the job was done. She had also clearly communicated my description of the problem to Miguel which was nice. Miguel took the time to understand the problem, and also understood that I wanted minimal damage to the deck to achieve the repairs. He removed the faulty section of downspout that passed through the deck. He tried to salvage the usable section of downspout from the roof to the deck, but after testing it recommended we change that as well because it was leaking. He took care to notch the deck and after some difficulty (because of lack of proper tools) he managed to get the modifications to the deck done neatly enough. He also took pains to test that the drain was not clogged before replacing the downspout. He then replaced the downspout and after we got a hold of a can of paint he painted the entire dowspoint pretty well so that it matched the other downspouts. So I was all set in the span of about 2 hours and very happy with their work.

They did good work. They were very prompt and everything worked out good.

We started off with Miguel coming over promptly to give us an estimate to repair our gutters. Alas, we had rust poking through in some spots and repair was out of the question. So.....we then had Kevin come a few days later for an appraisal/estimate. Both men were personable, meticulous in their evaluations and very professional. Kevin wrote up an estimate on the spot after taking detailed measurements. He was very interested in what we wanted and didn't want. It was obvious that they couldn't match our 25+ year old gutters, but we felt we had some good option choices with them. When I expressed dismay at expanding holes in the deck, he suggested a special converter. This eliminated cutting into the deck - yay! Those new downspouts and leaf traps worked perfectly with the converters. Communication was excellent with Kevin before the job - and a speedy installation date was chosen. Our installers, Wayne and David, absolutely rocked. They were on time, cleaned up their messes, and were careful about our plants when removing the old gutters and downspouts.They also noticed two boards with dry rot - we went to the lumber yard and they installed the new planks. Their attention to detail was so refreshing. They took a lot of pride in their work - deservedly so. We had not gotten other bids because we liked what we had read on Angie's List about this company. The owner responded very rapidly with a phone call and emails were returned swiftly. The feeling of confidence and competence in all contacts sold us. Our dog also gave his approval to everyone involved. The price ended up a little bit less because of a coupon. We will call them again if we need other services.

Migual showed up on time and got straight to work. I had extensive moss on the back side of my roof and he took care to clean everything off and explain what he was going to do and why. My gutters were pretty nasty as they had not been cleaned in quite some time but Migual got them cleared out and cleaned up everything before he left. I was worried that I'd have moss and junk all over my yard but he left everything clean.

Miguel arrived on time, maybe a little early for both the on-site estimate and the work day. He was pleasant, efficient and very knowledgable. He knew exactly where to order the custom gutter and did so very quickly. He and Kevin worked hard for most of the day and accomplished everything I asked him to do and more. He found a couple of places where there were problems I was unaware of, produced a fair estimate for the additional work on the spot and did the work immediately. He also added the flashing and gave me a discount on the gutter cleaning. The quality of the work seems very good, although we will not know for sure until the rains come. I am sure that if there is any problem at that time, this company will come and take care of it. They seem reliable and proud of the work they do. They were willing to come to the house for an estimate (some companies I contacted were unwilling to do so). They were extremely easy to deal with, did the job promptly, and the price was fair.

Their guys worked their tails off on what had become a pretty extensive job. Even though extra work was required compared to past years, they returned for another day & didn't leave until it was almost dark, so that the job & cleanup was completed & well done.

Service was very professional and friendly. Care was taken not to walk on parts of our roof as it had just rained and some of the shakes were soft. I have been having Home Doctor come for annual maintenance, and have been very comfortable with their service.

Miguel pressure washed the roof of moss. He also cleaned the gutters and inserted long screws to secure the gutters to the house as the long nails were coming loose. The work that Miguel did was very good. The price was a bit higher than I wanted but I needed the work to be finished before the summer was out. The major problem was the scheduling. Kathy told me that Miguel would be by in the AM. She called at 2pm to say that Miguel just finished up job and would be by in 30 minutes. Two and a half hours later he showed up. He couldn't finish that day but left a message with my son that he would return the next day. Friday evening he called to say he could come by on Saturday instead. I asked him to reschedule for the next week as I would not be home. The work was completed the following Friday. Scheduling and communication could be improved.

EXCELLENT! This was the second time we used Mark's services. His guys are hard workig, trustworthy, and personable .. secifically Miguel who I had the pleasure of working with. I would refer and use Home Doctor again, and again, ,and again. Ad may I add that Mark accommodated my last-minute request for these services in a day as our house is going on the market this week. Yeh!

I used the Angie's List web site to contact three companies to get estimates on gutter repair and cleaning. One company let me know that they only do gutter replacement, not gutter cleaning and repair. The other two companies responded promptly and provided estimates. Miguel from the Home Doctor came out, went up on the roof, and provided a very detailed estimate. The other company also came out and provided an estimate although their representative did not go up on the roof and I felt that he didn't do as thorough a job in reviewing the job. Nevertheless, both estimates were very close although The Home Doctor was higher. I contacted them and suggested a slightly lower price. They did not match the lower price but they did lower their estimate to where it was more comparable to the other one (within $25). I decided to use The Home Doctor and am pleased with their work. We scheduled an appointment. Miguel called to let me know when he was on his way. He arrived on time and promptly got to work. He did a great job and I am very satisfied. Susan from their office was also very good in promptly returning calls and emails.Will definitely use them again for any gutter repair, cleaning, etc. that I need done.

We just relocated to Portlnd from New York and immediately noticed a significant water overflow in an area of the Gutter directly preceding a downspout. Water was pooling in grand fashion at te foundation. I called Home Doctor and stated the problem and told her it looked like a bad situation to me. Miguel showed up at the house within 3 hours and after giving me a quick (and reasonable) estimate, proceeded to blow debris off the roof, clean the gutters, remove blockages from the downspouts ( he found 3 of our 5 downspouts had significant blockages), test his work to ensure proper water flow and ,then cleaned up the areas he was working in. Miguel was effecient, friendly, courteous, hard working and, very thorough. After he was done he blew off my sidewalk, driveway and additional parking area which had received some debris from the roof and then raked the flower beds so they, frankly, looked better than before he came. I will clearly use Home Doctor again and am recommending them to my son and his friends. I highly recommend this company. Ken Fell

Miguel came out and gave me an estimate. He cleaned the gutters at that time. He recommended a way to repair the gutters, then later changed that plan to give a better product at lower cost. He and a helper came to take down the old gutters that were being replaced, then other men came and cut and installed the new gutters. Then Miguel came back out to check on the job. I think Miguel is wonderful and a real plus for his company. Susan in the office is great also - very friendly. The owner called to schedule an appointment to do the work (Susan was on vacation). Everyone I dealt with in this company was wonderful.

Rain delays caused the job to drag out, but this was not the fault of the provider. They told me the cost of each service, along with options, but did not provide a copy of the costs. I selected the options I wanted and they performed all services selected. When finished I was a little surprised at the cost - it seemed a little higher than what I expected based on the options I had chosen; but since I did not have a written copy, I did not dispute the final cost. I had to call them back to remove a pile of tree limbs they had forgotten to pick up on their final visit.

1. They showed up with Aluminum, rather than steel. When asked about Electrolysis, they said they never heard of it. When the pain corrodes, it WILL be a problem...this is physics...and I happen to have some expertise on the topic. I needed a steel down-spout. The volume of the downspout is irrelevant as long as it is at least as large as the rest of the system...Putting a large diameter down-spout on just half the run would be pointless. The design of the parts they showed up with was not consistent with the design of all the other gutters and down-spouts on my high-end home - it was rounded, which didn't match. 2. Told me over the phone that it was $95/down-spout, but the quote from the installer was $145, due to having to use ladders???? I have a 2-story, not a 3-story home and yes the deck was on the 2nd story -- not a surprising configuration. 3. Talked to Mark on the phone, but the person doing the work was a worker employed by Mark who was not a native speaker, but he spoke pretty good English. Not too impressed. Talked to other companies who had much more thorough proposals...

Project went perfectly. We chose four contractors to present price quotes. They all responded quickly. We chose The Home Doctor because their quote was lowest received. Also they had been given special service awards from Angie's List. They started and finished the job in the time promised. Clean-up was quick and thorough. The job was perfectly done. Outstanding company.

The work went fine. He arrived promptly when scheduled, was pleasant to interact with, and performed everything in an efficient and effective manner. The price ended up being a bit higher than the maximum I was quoted on the phone, though.

He has been coming for last 3 years now and he does a wonderful job. He will call to remind me that I need to have my gutters clean. Actually I have never even met him because when he comes out, he cleans the gutters and he sends the bill over the internet. All I have to do is submit the check and it's done. He really makes it very convenient for the working person.

They were prompt and after giving me an estimate (which I approved), they got to work and had the job done in about a day. Even though things were quite messy while they were working, they cleaned up thoroughly when they were finished. My roof and gutters look great. I would certainly employ them again in the future.

Showed up late one afternoon and copleted the cleanning - had to come back another day to do the repairs. spent approximately 3 hours on the job.

Came out, redesigned how gutter was attached and drained, fixed a terrible problem that was causing great damage!! the guys were great!! phone person was also terrific that helped me!!!
